Cool, hip little boutique hotel with a 50's flare. Second time we have stayed here and love it. The 50's vibe is so cool. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The rooms and pool area are always clean. We love walking out of our room and being steps away from the pool. They don't allow personal music or partying by the pool, which keeps the riffraff out. They do play a little music on their speakers, but wish it was slightly louder so you could hear it. The mornings are nice grabbing breakfast at the outdoor bar. We love this place and will be back.

PARADISE! This place is still as wonderful as always. The new manager Robert is great. We loved Bill the previous manager but learned he moved on (don't assume the new owners let him go, not the case) and we enjoyed getting to know Robert. It's obvious that Robert cares about the hotel and about his position and he even noticed leaves on our patio when our gate was open and swept them up himself! POOL: The pool is very clean and well maintained. I observed the pool professionally serviced twice during our stay and every office employee personally skimmed the pool daily. Great layout around the pool with options for shade and the vibe is so RELAXING. This is not the hotel for a pool party, it is truly a replenishing and wonderful place to soak in the sun. AMMENITIES: Orbit In provides the use of beach cruisers, some with baskets for fun rides around town. There is a closet full of books and games to use by the pool or in your room. They have record players in every room and a vast library of vinyl to choose what you like. A sunscreen selection and bug spray is offered by the pool. They have a great poolside bar area where guests can make coffee or tea, a microwave for guests (which is great to hear up dinner left overs) as well as a nightly ORBITINI cocktail served to guests where you can get to know the other guests and socialize. And last but not least, a fridge full of sparkling water and soft drinks and yogurt for guests to enjoy. There are granola bars and instant oatmeal for snacks too! STAFF: The ladies that maintain this hotel do an AMAZING job and work their butts off in sweltering heat. Much credit is due to the ladies that keep Orbit In beautiful! Very nice too! This hotel is a GEM and it's great to see the new owners are not trying to change it. They are all only improving it. My husband and I love to watch movies in our room when it gets too hot and I learned they are upgrading TVs soon so that is wonderful. For those of you that have been here before and worry that new owners mean Orbit In will lose the things that make it special, don't. It's clear that the Orbit In remains in good hands!

    Record player, so cute!!

If you are considering staying here, do yourself a favor and just book the room. If I could give Orbit In more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. My boyfriend took me to Palm Springs for my birthday and Kevin and Jinny made it one of the best birthdays I had ever had. We loved exploring Palm Springs but being able to come back to the Orbit In at the end of each day was the highlight of my whole trip. We stayed in the Rat Pack room which was so spacious with a kitchen, large bed, and a super cute pink bathroom! The hotel is incredibly clean and absolutely gorgeous. If you're a vintage furniture lover, you'll be in heaven. They have a fridge full of sparkling waters, drinks, and yogurts for their guests. I absolutely LOVED the happy hour and drinking orbitinis with other guests. The pool is heated to a very comfortable temperature and the hot tub is so relaxing. I had never tried a salt water hot tub until I stayed at Orbit In and now I don't want to use anything else! I can't thank Jinny and Kevin enough for being so welcoming and kind to us. Staying at the Orbit In was the relaxing weekend I needed and now I'm looking for an excuse to go again!! Absolutely wonderful hotel and wonderful people.

    I miss this pool already!

This is a long overdue for Orbit In. My planned trip to Portugal this year had to be placed on hold due to this whole COVID craziness, so at the last minute I ended up in Las Vegas for a few days and then out to Palm Springs the week of July 4th. I ended up at Orbit In and could not have asked for a better experience. The place just oozes vintage mid-century modern! The rooms are all individual and decorated with a theme. I stayed in the Frey Lounge for the first half of the week which celebrates the architecture of Albert Frey. It has a fireplace (I couldn't get it to work, but to be perfectly fair, I also didn't say anything about it or ask for help), and an outdoor shower, which was amazing! Then I moved next door to BossaNova Ville (someone had already reserved this room for two days in the middle of my stay) which has a vintage Platner chair. I loved the coziness and privacy of the room. The pool is salt water and is so warm and relaxing! They have a fridge with sparkling waters (all different flavors), sodas, and juices. And around 5:00 or so, they have a happy hour with Martinis and wines. I never took part, as I was the only single person during my visit, but it looked cool! Plus, I'm a bit of an introvert. The owners were wonderful, and Bob made sure I had everything I needed. They even gave me a T-shirt just because. Oh! Did I mention the record players in each room, and the giant record collection in the office? Nothing like a little Sinatra while relaxing in the Frey Lounge. The best throw-back experience I've had in quite awhile. I will most definitely be back!

I wish I could give this place 10 stars!!!! From the second I stepped foot on this property, I was IN LOVE!! Bill is the nicest guy and went so far above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and taken care of at all times. Then you step foot in the room and it's like a traveling back in time! The rooms (especially the pink bathroom) are amazing! The esthetic, decor, and vibe of Orbit In are so amazing. I was so sad when it was time to go home. If I could, I would move in immediately! I've already told 10 friends about it (they saw my pictures and wanted to book their own trip) and cannot wait to come back soon!! Definitely come check this place out! It's one of the best places I've ever stayed!!! Thanks Bill, Jade, and Orbit In staff!! Xo

Another special boutique hotel in the oh so special Palm Springs (home sweet home). This is a mid century modern little gem that transports you to another era, that's what you want right?! Rooms adorned with vintage decor and a record player in each room to add to the nostalgic experience. The hotel is nestled against the mountain. Look up and see soaring palms, beautiful mountains and houses perched within. (sigh) It is walking distance to Palm Canyon Drive too. The rooms surround a saltwater pool. This is awesome! Thank you for the chlorine free experience. They serve Orbitini cocktails at happy hour from 5-6pm. This gives you the Rat Pack experience as you spin a Frank Sinatra Album in your room. They also serve a basic continental breakfast to get your day going. If you want a special experience that takes you away come visit Orbit In.

We loved this place 20 years ago and we still love it now. The vintage atmosphere is so relaxing. The owners are so nice and had the pool heated up nicely for the cooler winter months. The rooms and beds are comfortable. The Orbitini martinis are delish! Lots of restaurants nearby with curbside and delivery during these Covid times.

This was our first visit but won't be our last. The owners are very friendly and attentive hosts. Everything was very clean and inviting and the complimentary happy hour, snacks, record and movie selection, and other amenities made it a very pleasant stay. We can't wait to come back! Thanks for everything!

I hate giving good reviews but FINE! So this place is good for you if you appreciate vintage right down to the loungey pool music. Its super small so don't go there expecting a party even though they do have a martini happy hour! The room we stayed in was small but had everything we needed, fridge, plates, cups, napkins, a lil private patio and bluetooth record player. And again, vintage bathroom, pink tile, sink and toilet. They also let you use one of their many albums. They usually serve continental breakfast but during covid just coffee, yogurts, granola and instant oatmeal. They also have a water cooler and a fridge with soft drinks thats available 24 hrs. Also offer snacks in the lobby, when someone is in the office. Lastly, location! Walking distance to downtown, maybe 10 min?? We'll definitely be back!

Comet viewing in the desert while staycationing at Orbit In!

I cannot get ENOUGH of Orbit In! I wish I could be here all the time - this is what heaven is, in my dreams . So authentic mid-century modern - I love every little detail the owners have put into this place...it's clearly a passion of theirs, and not just a business. This is an experience, not just a "room" or a "stay". If I could give it 10 stars, I would. Peaceful and low-key...truly an oasis in this crazy world!

On 1/1, while using the hot tub on site, the chlorine stripped the dye right out of the fabric of my swimsuit within about 10 minutes. By the next morning, my partner's swim shorts were also bleached and permanently damaged. The photos speak for themselves - this was severe chemical damage, not normal wear. While we were at the pool that day, a staff member told us the hot tub had been chlorinated that morning. Two of our personal items were ruined after a single use following same-day maintenance. The total replacement cost for my swimsuit alone is $240. Fabriv damage occurring within minutes is commonly associated with significantly elevated chlorine levels, not normal use. Given how quickly the dye was stripped from our swimwear, this raised serious concerns about whether the facilities were safe for guests to be using at that time. What's far more upsetting than the damage itself is the hotel's lack of response. We reported this while still on property and followed up multiple times afterward. Management was dismissive, denied responsibility, and told us to take it up with Booking.com. Since then, Booking.com has attempted multiple times to contact the hotel on our behalf and the property has not responded at all. Accidents happen. Equipment issues happen. But refusing to acknowledge a clear problem, deflecting responsibility, and then completely ignoring repeated attempts to resolve it is unacceptable. The lack of accountability and communication is what truly ruined this experience.

The night I stayed it was $1,000 and many nights are in the $600-700 or above range. You won't find prices under $500. With that in mind it should be luxury. There's nothing luxury here. It's fine, it's clean, it's nice. First the staff, everyone is great. Very friendly, helpful, informative. So no problems there. So I think it's the management and the operator of the hotel. Inside the rooms, even after a recent renovation, it's just fine. There's nothing noticeable and there's nothing I'll think about or mention as a great part of the room. Everything is fine. During conferences or events, they may close certain parts of the hotel to other guests. That happened to me but didn't affect my impression of the hotel. I did speak with front desk to get some fees waived due to facilities being closed to non-conference guests. The other thing is with this resort fees, there's nothing worth any value included. So they advertise fitness facility and internet. That is basic and should be included in the rate, not resort fee. If you want to use the sauna in the spa, that's another $50 day pass fee on top of the resort fee. I understand other hotels do this but I am not into normalizing this. This is more a practice in the US, when you travel to Asia and Europe, saunas are at least included. Fees on top of rates on top of fees is a continuing practice at US hotels that I will be calling out and reflecting in reviews and to hotel staff. Anyway, I wouldn't recommend this hotel. It's fine if you want to check it out. I've stayed at other hotels in the area and would recommend those, esp at this price point you have the world of options.

I was a little scared when I read that most of the recent reviews were negative. I was thinking "oh no! What did I get us into." This place is a blast from the past. They play 1950s music all day on speakers throughout the complex, it creates that vintage feel but can get repetitive after a few days. Lounge with tables, board games, travel brochures, couches, fire place, coffee and tea, and industrial kitchen for use during your stay. (Old reviews mention happy hour, breakfast, snacks, etc. these are no longer offered but why not just bring your own?) Each room has microwave and mini fridge. Outdoor gas fire pit for use. The pool is small but has a deep end 8ft which is nice. There are pool noodles and some tubes to use. The hot tub is spacious and powerful jets. We stayed in the Hawaiian surf room, loved the theme it was so cute and felt like a tropical getaway. The shower is small but functional. Good AC unit with a remote control and ceiling fan. Surfboard coffee table and wicker love seat add to the tropical feel. Overall this was a nice private getaway. You can be left alone to relax! If you need anything you can text the hotel and someone replies super quick in my experience. The hotel feels very secure with codes needed to enter the complex and security cameras at the entrance and surrounding the complex. When I arrived, Tim, the inn keeper assisted me with my room keys and showing me around the property. My room was decorated with the Rat Pack and I loved it. All rooms are a maximum of two people with a hot tub, refrigerator with water, microwave, and coffee maker, air conditioning, and DVD player. If you'd like, bring a DVD and popcorn to enjoy during your stay. The bed was pretty comfortable. There were more than enough pillows which I'm guilty of using more than one pillow while I sleep. I love how the comforter was linen on the outside, but cozy and warm on the inside. The Crooners room has two sinks, but I only used one. There is happy hour everyday at 5pm by the pool or communal area with snacks and beer or wine. During my stay there were chips and salsa and the following day was veggies with dip, with of course a drink of choice. Really nice touch added to my stay. It's been a while since I have stayed in a bed and breakfast and I love the homeyness here. Breakfast is served in the communal dining area with hand sanitizer provided. The three-course breakfast starts with a fruit smoothie, a fruit parfait and a hot breakfast. For breakfast they served blueberry pancakes with sausage and the following day it was quiche with artichoke hearts and potatoes. I loved the service here so much. You sit at a table and they serve the food to you. The pool is open 24 hours will pool floaties available to use as well. Another thing I like about this place is that because there aren't many people (max 40 people at a time) it is highly likely you will get the pool to yourself. When I checked out and left the property I told my husband I would enjoy staying here again. I really enjoyed my stay here and highly recommend you stay here too.
