I had changed my insurance at the end of last year and my next appointment at this dental office was the first of January. When I arrived I gave the receptionist my new insurance card. I've been told that the type of coverage is obvious both on the front and the back of the card immediately. I was taken into the exam room and quickly was told I was scheduled for X-rays and they took about 13 of them!! Then my teeth were cleaned. Nobody came into the room to explain that they do not accept my insurance in all of that time. So when I went up to the desk to make my next appointment I was advised that they do not accept my new insurance and I was told I owed almost $800. I begged them to find a way to lower that and they did get it down to around $500., which I paid because I had to. Since I had made the appointment, I would have been happy to pay for the cleaning but I feel they took advantage of me with the x-rays.

Enter Dr. Stambouleigh. From the first consultation through surgery and follow-up, he and his team were calm, professional, and genuinely caring. When I told him I have been contemplating having 5 back teeth implanted for years now and have just been too scared to pull the trigger on it, he explained everything clearly and made me feel completely safe, which is saying a lot for someone who dreads dental chairs. The procedure involved removing the root of the damaged tooth and placing an implant immediately after, removing a back tooth that needed treatment and implant, and placing implants in back spaces where I previously had teeth extracted because the thought of root canals had just terrified me. All in all he fixed 6 teeth that day, and I felt no pain during surgery, have very minor swelling around the implant areas only, and absolutely no bruising whatsoever. I only needed one Motrin and an extra strength Tylenol that evening. Everything was so smooth from start to finish and I can't thank Dr. Stambouleigh and his staff enough for their kindness and skill--they truly turned a nightmare situation into a relief. *Funny thing...as I was editing this review, he literally called to check on me. Amazing!

I recently moved to the area and didn't have a local dentist yet when I began experiencing pain that I thought was from an infected tooth. They were incredibly accommodating and got me in the same day, which I truly appreciated. I found Dr. Vesilev through a holistic dental website, and it's such a relief to know she offers both traditional and holistic options. It's clear she and her team care deeply about their patients' overall well-being, not just their teeth. I felt heard, respected, and in great hands from the moment I walked in. Highly recommend!

I never thought that I would be writing a glowing review for any dental practice after having a…read moredetailed procedure, but this was truly the best dental experience I ever had...and I'm the daughter of a dentist! I just moved to the area and have been busy setting up new medical appointments. In the middle of all the chaos, I suddenly lost a large filling. While this may not be earth-shattering to many people, I have very small teeth and potentially dangerous allergies to many dental products. While my former dentists had worked around these issues with some (not glowing) success, I found my "issues" were definitely not welcome in this area. I went to a dentist recommended to me, not far from my house, and he was very nice; however, I was treated like a hot potato when he learned of my potential allergies. He couldn't get rid of me fast enough, and told me to find a holistic dentist, who could "better deal with my problems". Before I disclosed this "bombshell", I was told that, in addition to the first visit to assess the issue (about $200 out of pocket), it would additionally cost considerably more than $2,000 to do a crown. Additionally, it would cost much, much, MUCH more if I needed a root canal, which he said was likely, as he said he saw decay. The decay shocked me, as I have never had any in my life, and there was no sensitivity in the affected tooth. This $2,500++ would be cash only, due prior to the procedure. Fortunately, after some research, I was able to make an appointment with Arnica, and was understandably anxious about the procedure and its cost. The dentist, Dr. Anna Vasilev, was able to get me in quickly. I brought the X-rays and photos from the other dentist, and Dr. Vasilev said there was NO decay, that she saw no reason for a root canal, and that she could do a more modern procedure the following morning. My cost, after insurance, was likely to be about $140. I discussed my allergies, and she felt sure there wouldn't be a problem. They showed me their full cost estimate, including a longer-lasting ceramic crown, and the total was about half of what the other dentist quoted, and included the more expensive ceramic crown. Her more reasonable and modern approach was to cover the remaining tooth with an overlay (rather than drilling out the remaining tooth to a point), then fashion a ceramic crown for it right there and then. The entire procedure was comfortable and painless...and only took just over an hour...including making and applying the ceramic crown! They were all extremely helpful and knowledgeable. My husband couldn't believe I came out so fast! And I haven't even mentioned the Arnica office...it was beyond beautiful, spotless, quiet, and quite luxurious! The restroom by itself was a work of art...floor-to-ceiling marble walls and fixtures, an 8' polished mahogany door with gold trim, a "smart mirror"(!), and monogrammed disposable hand towels...spectacular! The same was true of the beautifully appointed and comfortable waiting area, where drinks were provided. Dr. Vasilev was kind, considerate, and carefully listened to my concerns. That, in itself, was amazing...that I could freely talk during the procedure, and not sound unintelligible from the numbing agent. I had a 9am appointment for the procedure, and was out before 10:30... and I was able to safely and comfortably eat lunch...right after having a crown! So, for me to say a dental procedure was a good experience, was unusual, to say the least. I will return to Arnica for all my routine dental visits and care, as will my husband. I highly recommend this practice to anyone who wants to banish the spectre of old-fashioned dental horrors once and for all... this place will change your mind! It did mine, and my father was a dentist.

Naturally, I was alarmed and expected prompt follow-up. Three days later, I still hadn't heard anything, so I called the radiology company myself, only to learn they hadn't even received my images until Monday, even though I was seen on Thursday. A week later, when I followed up with the dentist, I was told they still hadn't heard from the radiologist. When I contacted the radiology company again, they informed me that the case had not been marked as urgent by the dentist, despite what the doctor told me in person. They said they would flag it as urgent themselves, but that it should have been done by the dentist's office from the start. To make matters worse, when I called to have my records transferred, the receptionist hung up on me. When I called back, another receptionist was also very rude and dismissive. This situation was incredibly stressful and handled with a complete lack of urgency or care. If a doctor tells a patient something looks abnormal and needs urgent review, that should be treated seriously, not ignored for days. I would not recommend this office to anyone.

That's saying a lot considering that I'm in the medical field and know too much for my own good. Had my consult with Dr. Simpson today. His nurse was fantastic. She listened to all my concerns and made me feel at ease. She never judged the condition of my mouth (a couple of broken molars and some angry wisdom teeth). She stayed with me long enough to make sure that I was comfortable, but not so long that I spent unnecessary time in the office. After rads, Dr. Simpson came in. He was very personable, and efficiently devised a treatment plan that included wisdom teeth extraction as well as removing the broken molars so that implants could be placed after recovery/healing. I appreciated the fact that while my wisdom teeth were the foremost issue, he took into consideration issues that could arise in the near future, and decided to fix those at the time of anesthesia as well (to save me an additional anesthetic procedure in the future). He also was able to recommend a good dentist near me since I have had issues with dentists in the past. He was friendly, and didn't talk down to me like other dentists have done in the past. He was precise and direct, which I appreciated. He spoke in medical terms (after realizing I worked in the medical field). I was taken to a financial advisors desk after my consult. I wasn't pressured on a financial level, or told there was a time crunch and things would have to be done immediately. Luckily my insurance covers a hefty chunk of the costs, so I pre-payed for the surgery (which I might add, was exponentially less than what I paid for ONE root canal at a different office. The difference was roughly a grand). I went in today (Monday) and have surgery scheduled for Friday afternoon. So far so good. 5 stars. Beautiful office, courteous staff members, wonderful doctor. No complaints as of yet. Addendum 1/15/16 Still 5 stars. I'm two hours post-op from having 6 teeth removed, and I'm in no pain whatsoever. I was a little nervous about the IV anesthesia, but everything went ridiculously smoothly. I wish all dental procedures were under IV sedation. I remember catheter placement, the IV being started, and then I fell asleep. I woke up in a recovery suite just in time for discharge instructions. I was able to walk post-sedation and even made it up the stairs to my apartment. I still have some bleeding, but nothing worrisome. Dr. Simpson and Nurse Paige are my two favorite medical professionals. This is the first time in over a month that I haven't been in pain... Which is saying a lot considering I'm post-op. I couldn't be happier. Thank you to everyone involved in my care this week. Ps) If you have a choice, ask for Paige to be your nurse. She's amazing at her job. Attentive and caring. Thank goodness she pursued this career. I couldn't imagine going through this without her around. And kudos to Dr. Simpson for a great catheter placement. Seriously. I'm not even bruised.
