Yelp Review 2026 #123:…read more Jungfraujoch is a must-visit if you're in Interlaken...or Zurich even! My first trip to Zurich was in February several years ago, I took a bus to Interlaken and 2 trains (Grindelwald, and Jungfraujoch) - it's not complicated. It's an easy day trip from Zurich, and a half a day trip if you're already in Interlaken. From Interlaken Ost, it's a train ride to Grindelwald, a gondola ride to Eigergletscher via Eiger Express then a train ride to Jungfraujoch. Traveling in the spring can be unpredictable. Sometimes it's raining all day, it could snow, it could be extremely foggy. Your hotel in Interlaken has a channel where you can watch the live cam of Jungfraujoch so you can see if it's worth going or not. It's almost always foggy early in the morning during spring but it clears out by around 10am...sometimes, it doesn't. Once you get off the Jungfraujoch station, you can read information about the place. How the place keeps getting warmer due to climate change. The Research Station Jungfraujoch is the highest in Europe and in the world. Elevation is over 11,000 feet above sea level. There are movies/ shows that were filmed here. So, it gets pretty crowded. You have to go to the Sphinx Observatory where you can see the Alps and Aletsch Glacier from outside. On a clear day, you can see Germany and France. You can walk in the snow. There's a cafe, a Lindt store and a gift shop. You'll see some cute ice sculptures.

We got lucky we booked it on a day that it was not foggy/cloudy. Bucket list, checked! What a memorable experience. Amazing views on our way to Jungfraujoch. Tour is little pricey and crowded BUT totally worth it! Enjoyed every moment touring inside Ice Palace while collecting amazing memories at Spinx Observation Tower and Plateau. Just to be aware of the altitude sickness Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). Drink plenty of water.

Yelp Review 2026 #118:…read more About a 40-45 minute hike from Staubbachfalls is Trümmelbach Falls - passing 2 waterfalls along the way. I mean you, you can take a bus from Lauterbrunnen station to get here but you'll miss out on the beautiful scenery, the cows and the flowers. Besides, 45 minutes isn't a far hike. I wasn't planning on coming here. I was at Staubbachfalls looking at Google Maps to see what else is in the area and this popped up. So, I started heading towards Trümmelback Falls. I didn't bother checking their hours - it's a waterfall! Why would it have hours of operation?!? It's open from 9am-5pm. I made it to the ticket booth at 4:55pm and I was let in. Imagine hiking for 45 minutes for nothing? I'd be pissed! Well, it happened to a few people and there's nothing they could do about it. If there's nobody at the ticket booth and the gate is locked, sorry, Charlie! I paid $24 (18 CHF) for a ticket. So, the reason why this waterfall has hours of operation is for the funicular and guest safety. Somebody has to operate the funicular to get to the dark cave that has the waterfall. It is dark, cold, loud and you will get slightly wet. So, be sure to bring a jacket and non-skid shoes. About a 5-minute walk from here is a bus stop to bring you back to Lauterbrunnen station.

Walking through tunnels, stairs, and viewing platforms carved into the rock is an adventure in itself. The elevator helps with part of the climb, but there are still quite a few stairs, so wear good shoes and be prepared for some effort. I'm glad we had patience waiting for the lift and didn't use the stairs all throughout. We got a little damp from the mist, and avoiding slippery areas in the dark were part of the fun experience. We had to come back the next day to get in since the place was already closed when we first arrived. We walked all the way from Staubbach to the village to Trummelbach and didn't know we could have taken the bus to get there while it was still open. It's well worth it.
