At first Eagle River Landscaping seemed like the company to use but after delivery of our dirt and…read moretrees things quickly turned wrong and it was very clear that we had picked the wrong business to deal with. When we measured our trees, we found them to be 2 feet shorter then what we had been billed for. We tried to speak with Bob (the owner) and all of sudden he was now not returning our calls or texts. After running into him at his business and asking him to come by to take a look at the trees, all he would say was that the person who had marked the trees with my husband had quit and that those were our trees that were marked for us. It was very apparent that he had our money, the job was done for him, and he wanted nothing more to do with us. Will not be doing business with them again! Debbie N.

First, we would NEVER recommend Bob, the owner, and I would give a zero if the rating went that…read morelow. We live on a corner lot which was naked except for a couple of lodgepole trees. We asked Bob to create a screen of evergreens. Bob talks fast and doesn't listen well. He talked us into some things we didn't feel comfortable with and we wrongly bought into his promises. He was low on inventory and instead of finding the right choices, he forced a design based on what he had. I was out of town when Bob did his less than handy work. For example, he placed to large Lilacs near the road and said they would do well in the Western sun, they would bear snow well, and provide nice screening even when they drop their leaves. Instead, the lilacs almost baked to death due to the reflected road heat and poor irrigation, lost about a third of the branches due to snow fall and plowing, and offered almost zero screening when the leaves dropped. Bob placed one tree on top of 10 inches of bark instead of "in the ground". Another tree had the entire bottom of the root ball suspended by the sides of the too narrow hole creating a deadly air pocket. Another tree was buried about 6 inches above the root crown which causes a slow death for a tree. In some areas the bark was barely an inch and others almost 24 inches deep. Instead of running a separate zoned irrigation drip line, Bob tapped off the sprinkler head line and used one bubbler per 6 foot tall, 2" caliper tree, often located on the shade side of the tree. This resulted in the trees either being too dry or the lawn being flooded to get the trees sufficient water. Some of the evergreens became seriously dried out on the road side due to insufficient water for that root area. I ended up using a hose and bucket to keep the trees alive with water while we waited for Bob to address the poor design. One tree did die. It took numerous calls to get any response from Bob. Bob charges a lot for what is does and we had very poor results. And more disconcertingly, when he blew our sprinklers out in the autumn, he had us make the payment to his son who was away in college and not on-site, according to Bob. By the end of the Autumn, the trees were struggling and instead of correcting his mistakes, Bob "gave" us a small pine tree to replace one which died and he walked away from any support. We hired Franz Witte the following Spring and they provided a nice computer rendition of suggestions to correct Bob's poor choices and we added some more trees. We ended up moving or replanting most of Bob's trees, added a separately zoned drip system, and moved the lilacs away from the road where they are doing better, despite the many broken branches. Franz Witte basically redid most of Bob's job and their bid for the same work was less expensive and far more professional and reliable than Bob. Bob talks a good game but didn't come through.

He also helped us find someone to do snow removal during the crazy winter of 2018-2019. His sub did a great job for about 75% less than the going rate. I've found John to be helpful, reliable, and a man of hIs word. It is hard to find good help in McCall, in general, including subcontractors. I would give John a call and give him a chance to bid on any project you might have, large or small.

It was a true "adventure" dealing with this local company. We had hoped to have tile, hardwoods,…read moreand carpeting done by them. First off was the tile - no major complaints on this aside from the fact that the sub-contractor didn't start work until 12:00 non even though the agreement was 9:00 AM. Had to call John, owner of Adventure Floors, who would go wake him up. The sub-contractor would than leave for lunch at 1:00 PM and return at around 2:30PM, leave at 4:00 PM and return around 6:00 PM and work until 8:30 PM. Very disruptive, BUT he did great technical work! Now the real disaster began with the hardwood floors - which John had sub-contracted with a young man who had a individual who was "in training." Not sure how many different issues that I had to address with John who would always respond with "I'll fix it." After "fixing" the multiple issues they "finished" the job and left - A MAJOR DISASTER - from not cleaning up the piles of sawdust on our deck, to not putting edge molding back on, to those pieces they did not caulking, to leaving caulk all over the fireplace glass, to dust on thousand of dollars of electronics, to . . . . Pictures are available for any that would like to see their "professional local work." Here it is almost 4 days after John swore he would "take care of it" and still no work from him. I love to buy local, heck I am a seated member for Valley County Economic Development Council, but I cannot recommend this company to ANYONE with a clear conscious.
