The Orange store takes advantage of foreigners. They told me that I couldn't use my iPhone since it was locked and a Sim Card would not help. Their solution was to buy a Samsung phone which I did since I was going to be in Europe for six weeks. I don't know what it is about the 'attitude' of many of the store employees but they act like they are doing you a favor by waiting on you and selling you something. Maybe they hate Americans. There was one very nice young lady but the rest of the crew, mostly males were arrogant and refused to help me. Once they sold the phone, I was told I had to figure it out myself. They would not help. This is an attitude I was shocked to discover in Spain among a variety of persons such as a taxi driver who made a 10 minute drive 30 minutes to make more money, restaurants whose employees think they are doing YOU a favor by waiting on you. Sometimes they cheat you, other times they screw up your order it seems purposely. It reminds me of the attitude of Parisian waiters. What is it about Spaniards, nearly all men, who think they are superior?? Gawd, I am so glad to get out of Madrid and hopefully find better experiences in other countries. It appears that young people in particular, like many in the U.S. just do not care about customer service and managers and owners don't care either. Pathetic. I will NEVER come to Madrid again. The WORST experience I have ever had in Europe. And, I will tell all my friends. read more
