I placed an order for 28 plants (Sept 25, 2024)- not my first order or issue with this company but DEFINITELY my last. I received this order on Oct 5, 2024. Out of 28 plants, half of those had issues which had nothing to do with the shipping service other than possibly the multiple yellowing leaves. My order included 16 specific plants from their 4" collection, and 12 mystery 4" plants. They also sell "plug" sized plants, pictured on their website, and these are around 2". When I opened the order, the plants seemed pretty small compared to the 4" ones pictured on their website. So, after unboxing all and taking pics (necessary because of past experiences), I went to their website to compare. To my dismay, I realized most of these 4" plants I received were actually comparable to the 2" plug size (a few even SMALLER than plug size) and nowhere near the 4" sizes on their site. So, I then took pics of the plug sized one from the website, the one I received, and the 4" sized one from the website. After doing this, I decided to email the customer service listed to inquire about the sizes and find a resolution. I got a response later that day and I assume it was one of the owners that responded. They only acknowledged one issue I had brought up and ignored the other multiple ones I had explained and sent multiple pictures for. They stated that "Those plants are certainly not plugs and certainly quite a bit larger than our plugs". The pictures I sent were CLEARLY much smaller than the 4" ones. They also said that one particular plant had been in a 4" pot for months-attempting to discredit the size in the picture I sent. They did acknowledge that one of the plant types (I ordered 2 of each) was "on the smaller side" and offered a partial refund. I replied to this email repeating the many other issues and asking for clarification on why the pictures I sent were MUCH closer to the plug size. I also questioned why most of them still had on the mesh wraps around the roots (seedlings/plugs have these from when they are planted) and were loosely plopped into a 4" pot with soil added around it. The website states their 4" plants are "plants with robust root structures that come potted and ready to grow" and "their roots are already established in a growing medium". However, NOT ONE of the root systems was established in these 4" pots and most had mesh around the root system. They replied with "Yes all of our plants whether 2 inch, 4 inch, 6 inch etc will have our plugs on them. I can assure you we are not simply grabbing plugs & putting them in 4 inch pots"...but there were multiple ones that in fact did not have this mesh around the roots. They proceeded to say that "There is quite a size difference between our plugs & our 4 inches. Once I am back in the shadehouse tomorrow, I would be happy to put them side by side so that you can see the difference if you think that would be helpful". HOW would that be helpful if they're picking up a large 4" in their nursery that resembles the pictures on website and not acknowledging the pictures of the ONES I ACTUALLY RECEIVED? Four minutes later, they sent another email stating "I do hear how unsatisfied you are with your order. If you would like to send the plants back, we will gladly refund you for the plants". Again-absolutely NO acknowledgement of the clear as day size differences or the fact that it's clear plugs are being thrown into 4" pots, some soil added around mesh covered root system, and the price being upped $2+ (with much larger plants being pictured as the 4" size). I attempted one last response to explain and get some kind of acknowledgement and was sent "I do apologize for any inconvenience unfortunately I just don't agree with the assessment of the size of the plants. We have offered you a full refund if you would like to return the plants. We would be happy to do that for you as we wouldn't want you to be unhappy with your order". I'm not sure if this person is in denial, being deceitful/lying, or something else but the pictures are CLEAR on the very significant size differences. I also sent a picture of one of the plants that WAS close to the 4" size-because a stem had been saran-wrapped around the bamboo pole-breaking the stem in two but leaving it hanging by a string-the leaf strung over backwards. They responded with "I am not seeing any bends or breaks in the stems". There seems to be complete disregard for actual proof/evidence and either denial or cover-ups for any wrongs. This was the most absurd, ludicrous issue/response I have ever seen from any company. BEWARE. There are too many other online nurseries to do business with (that actually acknowledge and correct any issues) to continue having issues with this one. I'm understanding of human errors, slight discrepancies, and other such things but when there are pretty significant issues addressed-and they are not acknowledged/fixed, that's a NO. Only so many pics are allowed but I have many more! read more
