You can find someone better, not worth the risk They ended up damaging by boat and didn't fix the initial root cause of the issue i took it in for.. they called the previous owner of of the boat (30 years) and his mechanic a liar. When I got the boat back I had smoke from the engine bay on my first trip out 1/4 mile from harbor. Luckily sea tow and no major damage. It shifted smooth when I dropped it off, didn't shift after getting it back. Dangerous and incompetent to say the least.. ef these guys.. So i purchased an old but new to me 25' Flybridge with a 7.4L MPI mercruiser.. 30 year owner, very well cared for.. the engine shook when I bought it.. seemed like engine mounts.. I took it to Orange County outboards since they're a mercruiser shop in my area.. what a mistake.. after they rebuilt my stern drive they said just live with the shake... they said the guy I bought it from was lying.. it wasn't a reman'd engine cause it didn't have the tag (mercruiser stopped putting tags on remans) my first time having the boat back it almost burned down SERIOUSLY. Smoke from engine bay 1/4 quarter mile outside the harbor... I had to get sea towed back in.. I immediately let them know, they said they'd send techs out (their shop was full all of a sudden) and that was the last I heard of them.. Absolute garbage.. they took 4 months for 20 hours of billed work.. the work they did do was sound.. but for some reason they wouldn't fix the engine.. So next I took it to another shop, they fixed the engine mounts and the shake is gone.. amazing right!? the reputable shop also found the water pump had failed (mysteriously?) and also the shift cables that worked fine when I dropped it off were stuck when I got it back.. the new shop replaced the cables and it shifted smooth as butter again.. AVOID THIS SHOP IF YOU DONT HAVE A 35' dual engine cabin cruiser.. The mechanic at oc outboards seemed full of himself.. they also said I need to change the oil every 20 hours.. what a joke.. this is my 2nd boat, and I spend about 100 hours a year on the water and this will be my 6th season fishing socal.. I am very disappointed with them and I am considering seeking legal reparations because they almost burned my boat down do to negligence and caused damage.. We'll see. read more

Not just my outboards but full service for my Sea Ray SD 280 and her temperamental Kohler genset. Replaced my transom assembly in a week (DP shipyard month+ job). These guys do inboard and outboard in Orange County. I've got a 5.7 Mercruiser inboard engine on a SeaRay that was leaking oil. These guys did an amazing job. Super responsive. Dave and Raffy worked my Monterey 27 cabin cruiser(February 2019)it was a major engine overhaul, manifolds, gimbal Bering, u-joint etc.etc. 12,000$ dollar investment to bring my vessel back to seaworthy, she's now slipped in Dana Harbor. Orange County Outboards has a great reputation on the docks from other boat owners I've talked to and I 100% agree! I thought I had an issue a couple months after and they were on it immediately, turned out to be a leaky line they never touched but they still pulled it out just to make sure it wasn't anything they did. Dave has been working on boats in our Harbor for 25 years and treats each boat like it's his own boat. Raffy enjoys long walks on the beach each evening and cuddling. Thanks Dave And Raffy! It's too bad because the first and only time I used his service the work was done in a timely manor and done well. However when I came to the owner a month ago with an electrical issue he and his assistant have ignored me numerous times after agreeing to fix my electrical problem. It's summer and I'm still not on the water because of broken promises - Everytime I would call they would have no clue as to who I was or what work I needed. I'm probably too patient but I gave him the benefit of the doubt due to my first experience with him. No more I'm done and I recommend you stay far away from this place. read more
