No problem. My passport was all they needed. They did all the work, including installing the SIM and making sure my iPhone on Swisscom's remarkable 3G network was up and running. The clerk went over the plans available with me, and then took care of everything else. When the first text message from Swisscom came over in German, she fixed it immediately and then everything worked perfectly. Every cell phone experience should be this good. Really, I was quite impressed with how well they handled everything.

All these negative comments are, i believe, from people with too high of expectations, or better said, unrealistic expectations. The genius bar is the same as its always bin. If you have an appointment then you know it will take a very tolerable 5-10 minutes. If not you get put in a waiting list of some sort which in my case took about 35 minutes until i received the message to return, and after sitting another 5 minutes. Instead of popping in without an appointment save your nerves and make one from home on the app. The technician "sam" told me the walk in appointment are generally meant for emergencies.
