The Orange Beach Community Center is another fantastic resource that's right on Canal Road. It's part of that big complex that includes the fitness and aquatics centers, and it's been a central spot for local gatherings for a long time. It isn't quite as modern as the Adult Activity Center down the street, but it's a huge, 5,000 square-foot space that can seat about 300 people, so it's quite nice for those larger community events.
I've been there for a couple different functions, and it's always got a very welcoming, hometown neighborly vibe. They have a full-service kitchen, which is why you'll regularly see signs out front for things like the monthly community potlucks. It's also where a lot of the local civic groups and the Garden Club meet up. My honey also attended open play Mahjong nearly every week, so that's an example of serving the greater community for folks like us in Gulf Shores. It's another great example of how the city provides these spaces to keep everyone connected.
While it's a bit more of a traditional community hall, it's very well maintained and clean. Since it's available for rent, it's a solid, affordable option if you're planning a big birthday party, a wedding reception, or even a large meeting. The staff that I've encountered have always been helpful and they make sure the logistics for events go off without a hitch.
Bottom line: If you're looking for a versatile, large space for a local event or just want to get involved with some of the town's long standing traditions like the potlucks, the Orange Beach Community Center is the place to go. Recommended!!! read more
