Tropical Smoothie Cafe is the only place I buy smoothies…read more I love the options, the consistency and the control over sweetness. OPTIONS There are so many smoothies to choose from, to start: all fruit, yogurt-based, seasonal and featured drinks. But you can also add and remove ingredients to make a totally customized smoothie. CONSISTENCY While it might not be important to everyone, I like that I can go there and get the same smoothie every time I order it. No one is perfect, but overall, they are consistent. SWEETNESS This is probably the most important to me, as I cannot handle a super sweet, syrupy, chemical-tasting smoothie. I have tried my smoothies from here with no added turbinado sugar and then with half. I prefer the half. The smoothies here are not cheap, but you get what you pay for. They mostly come in one size, a large amount, which I like. The cups are probably not great for the environment, but they do keep the smoothies cold. (If I could change one thing, it would be that.) This review is based solely on the smoothies. I have never eaten food here.

Great cafe with vegan and gluten free options, plus yummy lattes!…read more The coffee here was really nice, I really enjoyed the Centred Latte, a vanilla latte with cinnamon, and their other ones looked good too! I wish they listed the descriptions of what the flavors are for the signature drinks though so I don't have to bother the staff on what each thing actually is while it's busy. The pastries here all looked great with different flavors, I liked the Pecan Cherry scone a lot, with actual cherries mixed in! It is vegan and gf, which means the texture is definitely very different from traditional pastries, but one of the best vegan ones I've ever had. Excited to come back and try more!

Ordering fast food - it's tough to get fresh veggies and when I mean fresh, I mean actually chopped and prepared that day! But honeygrow is chopping and filling their containers right in view with a fully open kitchen concept at the restaurant. The ordering process is simple! But definitely order ahead on the app because ordering at the store will just place you at a kiosk and delay your order compared to ordering ahead. The fresh prepared portion is amazing. You aren't eating food that was cooked and under warming lamps all afternoon. I also love that corporate listens to feedback. They add fun sauces and combinations like buffalo chicken recently and look to create new flavors that people actually want. I also tried the avocado creme sauce, but it was a little spicier than I expected, so I was glad it came on the side. Without it, the bowl tasted a bit plain. I'd still come back and try a different sauce or mix-in combo because it feels like a solid healthy option. Also worth noting: adding a smoothie to a bowl order drops the price to $6 instead of $8, but you have to add it through the bowl order rather than as a separate item. The Tropicolada smoothie was really refreshing and I'd definitely order it again.
