My boy cat deals with urinary crystals, and has had an all of his emergency surgeries through Belmont. They are great at going through every part of the surgery, as well as going through pricing with what's necessary vs not necessary but can be done if I would like. They give me a call 2 times a day before and after surgery to give me updates. Dr. Holz has been amazing to work with. My boy cat is generally very nervous around vets, but he loves her. She is great at giving different options for treatment. After my boy cat's 5th surgery, she recommended anxiety meds, and he has had no relapses since (). The receptionists are also amazing with customer service. I have called with small questions, and they never seem irritated or too busy to answer them. All the staff including the vet techs, vets, and front desk are extremely kind and welcoming. I would recommend this vet to everyone.

I called Wednesday of this week at 10:26 and spoke with receptionist about getting heart guard and nex guard for my 2 dogs who are in southern Missouri while I am working in a Northern city for the summer. Both my dogs have been seen this year by this office already. I asked about all of this on prior visits and have called before. The receptionist on Wednesday said I could pick up the medicine for each of my dogs but I'm not in the area. Then she said I could order online so I did. Through their website. Now on Thursday morning they won't ship it. They gave me medicine in May for 2 months in person but won't ship one month now. Rude folks. Time for a new vet. It was good while it lasted. The lady I talked to on Thursday was rude, too.

He was SUPER nervous and losing hair from stressing out. Dr. Jordan got down on the floor with him and let him check her out. By the end of our visit, he was happy happy. She also recommended some teeth treats that work really well and his plaque has broken off. Our other dog loves going to the vet. When she comes in, he rolls right over onto his back for tummy rubs. She actually gets down with him and does whatever she needs to do while he is down there instead of picking him up onto the counter. So, in addition to our fantastic vet, are the prices. They have the least expensive shots in Lincoln, I shopped around. If you have your dog there all day while you are at work and they are getting groomed or any other service, they don't charge for if. I also like that Dr. McInteer doesn't make you immediately try to talk you into treatments or tests that aren't necessarily needed.... he doesn't run up your bill, he instead keeps it simple. I was very pleased with my horse's chiro treatments. I do dressage and my horse used to get very stiff in his hips. After a few treatments my horse was going great and actually reaching with the hind farther than he ever has before. Dr. McInteer also showed me exercises and stretches to do with him every day to keep him that way and I have never had a problem since....which is sad because we don't get to see Dr. McInteer as often anymore. I highly recommend Dr. McInteer and the entire Hillcrest staff, they are all wonderful and helpful!

The vet assistant kept ignoring me or telling me that she was pregnant after telling her that my cat is spayed and was pushy about it. Then on my last visit there, as I was waiting to take my cat into her appointment, the staff was yelling and berating another client and arguing with them in front of a full lobby of clients. The client who was being yelled at and berated was just asking to reduce the $15 charge for an entire nail clipping/trim since they only clipped/trimmed 1 claw and not an entire service. Then after my cat's vet appointment, I contacted the staff asking about giving my cat her antibiotic through a shot since NOTHING was working to give her the antibiotic in pill form, and the woman I spoke to said in a VERY rude and condescending tone "um, no. It's an antibiotic, they don't come as a shot." This was either a flat out lie or sign of being uneducated because for one, my parents always get my animals back home their antibiotics in shot form, and a quick google search for my cat's specific antibiotic in shot form said it does exist and can get it at any veterinarian office. I would HIGHLY recommend NOT taking your pets here. Don't waste your money, time, sanity, or effort on this place. The veterinarian himself being the only person with dignity and respect at this office is not worth it.

Kathy had been taking her dogs to Dr. Ehlers for at least the last 10 years. Coincidentally, both Misty & Pixie had a grooming appointment scheduled at Ehlers Animal Care just a few hours after Kathy passed. When we called to explain what had happened, and see about rescheduling the appointment, they were incredibly compassionate. They asked if we wanted to come later that same day, and when we arrived with Misty & Pixie, the staff was visibly upset. It was only after we got there that we realized they were taking care of us after their regular business hours. Not only that, Dr. Ehlers refused to let us pay for the services. Dr. Ehlers contacted me several times after that with suggestions for different adoption organizations, and to see how Misty & Pixie were adjusting to their new surroundings with us. It was obvious why Kathy had trusted Dr. Ehlers & her wonderful staff for so many years. They genuinely care about their customers & truly love the animals they take care of.
