Absolutely the worst company I have ever dealt with by far, yet alone internet and mobile service provider. Anytime I had a problem it tyook forever on the phone to get anyone who knew what they were dong and I came to know you cannot call them for service unless you have 1 to 1.5 hours to waste on the phone. Five times I have had to call in the year I have been with them, not counting the follow up calls I had to to do, without exaggeration I spent over 15 hours on the phone with them ridiculous part of the whole experience is that when I called to cancel I had the hardest of hard sells trying to keep me, even transferring me to 2 separate agents trying to get me to stay with them!! Do not choose Optimum. When I tried to end my service they did everything they could to take more and more money from me. They Charged me for 3 weeks of internet service after I had already cancelled my service and returned my equipment. Then once I paid my final bill, they charged me for a "service" that was free while I was receiving internet, but suddenly costed money when I ended it. it was a service that I had not requested and never used. I wasn't aware it was even in my account until I ended it. read more

When I moved to Nashville, NC in October, Optimum was not available as a provider in my neighborhood. In June I checked the availability again and online it showed it was available. I made the payment, they insisted that I pay before they came out, On the day of, they did not get out vehicle. Tech sat in the car for about 15 min and left. I called to inquire and they said "they don't service my area". For an entire week I am still asking for my money back. They activated the account and are telling me I have to wait until the tech tells them the lines have been disconnected. What connection. They never sent the cancellation confirmation for the amount of the canceled account. They told me I have to wait a billing cycle. Got the welcome to Total Care for $15 a month, while they are telling me the account is cancelled. If you have other options, stay clear of them and their shady practices. If you have been wronged by any of these shady internet providers, please report them to the FCC. read more

Went into Optimum this morning to switch mobile carriers. I informed the young lady that I wanted to keep my same phone number. First, the phone I wanted was not available and the phone I settled for I had to pay an activation fee and service before the number was transferred over. When she (the young lady) at the store tried to port my number over it wouldn't work. She had me call my carrier and she spoke with two people from my carrier. She asked me to either wait or go and come back. Upon returning she told me she could not get my number to port over. Then she told me I could contact the home office to cancel services or pay a restocking fee of $50 dollars. I was upset saying paying for the activation fee and another $50 amounted to me was paying nearly half the price without any results. I went back home to Scotland Neck NC 30 miles away. Called the home office and talked to a gentleman named Muhammad. Muhammad informed me that I would need to pay the restocking fee and then called back and then they could reimburse me the restocking fee only. I took the phone back(another 30 miles) returned the phone then called the number Muhammad had given me I was transferred no less than five times. When I got to the section that Muhammad said he worked no one would allow me to speak to him. I was told that a refund of the restocking fee would not be given. I was cheated by Optimum. Later I found out that everyone in the retention/installation section calls themselves Muhammad. What a SCAM. I will be looking for new internet services now. I am out of all this money with nothing to show and Optimum will most likely sale the same pone to someone else for the same price. read more

Absolutely TERRIBLE, it cuts out a lot and i mean a lot, for the price you'd think you get a decent connection and not this pathetic excuse for a wifi connection, im temporary here in rocky mount and this service has been horrible, I AM BEGGING YOU, if you want good connection optimun is not the way to go, then go ahead and do whatever you want, but this is comin from somebody who has been using this s##### wifi for a year read more

Bill continues to go up. I'm experiencing an outage with my box right now and wfh told me a tech can come out until Monday. Again I work from home work on the weekends literally about to miss out on 24 hours of work. This location is rude . they do not have equipment or can not help unless you're paying a bill .

My bill has gone up $30 in one month!!! From $250 - $280!! Thats just for basic cable and wifi!
