The optician i saw was absolutely lovely, and when i got contact lenses for the first time they were profession l and incredibly helpful, checking to see i hadn't blinded myself or gone blind after a weeks trial. They have a great service where you can pay a direct debit monthly and your lenses get delivered to your door so there's no need to go to the store. I often have to pop in and get my glasses tightened, and they're always happy to see me (or just super friendly). They have a good stock of glasses and will help advice you on a shape and style to suit your face. My only complaint is that they didn't have spare contact lenses in here one day when one of mine fell out into my salad. Oh, and they're expensive too, but they seem to work with lots of local business's to offer good deals.

During my 20 years of needing glasses Nicklins was by far the most professional place I visited. A good selection of glasses at a wide variety of prices so all budgets are catered for. But more importantly a very good after sales service to go with your purchase. I had to return my pair when the anti glare coating became tarnished, they checked them and ordered a new pair of lenses which were delivered within a week and then when I returned fitted them into my frames while I waited. An appointment for me will normally take about 40 minutes to an hour as these guys are very thorough. I went to Vision Express today for the first time as I needed a pair of prescription sunglasses…read moremade up fairly quickly and they were able to offer the service I needed. The shop is actually fairly big and very brightly lit which makes looking at the glasses much easier. I found the staff attentive and helpful and I actually visited three times as I was not intending initially to have an eye test. I was due an eye test next month anyway and managed to print a voucher from the internet for a half price eye test and a 10% off voucher for a new pair of glasses. The eye test was effecient and I was seen promptly and the optician explained everything that happened. I was very impressed with the service and hopefully my glasses will be ready to be collected on Tuesday.

We always receive attentive, courteous and prompt service and the prices are fair. I can't compare as I've never been anywhere else! Reena and her colleagues do very competent eye tests and there are always great deals on glasses. So much so that I always buy two pairs at a time. My daughter got her contact lenses there for many years till she had the laser op done abroad and that hasn't been that successful, so she's back on lenses, plus some glasses from Keena Rakkado to give her eyes a rest. The optician was very helpful and recommended a range of products for my which have really helped. They had a special promotion on the designer frames and the prices were so much cheaper than other opticians on the same street. I would definitely recommend them to a friend!

It's impossible not to be impressed by their service. They're just great - so friendly and professional and forthcoming and helpful, really incredible. They always call me half an hour before my appointment to remind me, which is good, because I'm the kind of person who'd forget. They're reasonably priced compared to other opticians (so my optician friend tells me). Also, being an independent, family-run business they are not forced to use particular brands of e.g. contact lenses, which is common for the big branches. That means they really will get you what is best for you.

The woman in charge spent a lot of time working with me to find the perfect pair of frames for my really thick lenses. I also have one ear that is higher than the other, which warps the sides of my specs - Bromptons are always happy to readjust the arms of my glasses for me. Thanks!!!
