I can't say enough good things about this clinic and it's current doctor and staff. As someone who is part of the LGBTQIA2S+ community and also has sensory sensitivities, it's rare to find a space that feels this safe, welcoming, and respectful. The staff here go out of their way to be kind, patient, and accommodating--without making a big deal out of it or singling anyone out. The environment is calm and thoughtfully set up, which makes a big difference if you're sensitive to noise, light, or busy spaces. I never feel rushed, and they always take the time to explain things in a way that feels clear and respectful. It's a genuinely inclusive place where you can just be, and that matters more than most people realize. Highly recommend for anyone looking for affirming, accessible eye care.

I have since moved to Vancouver…read more I was up visiting family (Oct 16, 2013) and decided to make an appointment to have my eyes tested with her again, as it had been awhile since the last time I had them tested, and my first experience 7 years ago was a very pleasant one. I have since heard negative feedback from several Kamloops people that had been to see her, but I decided that because my experience was a good one the first time I saw her, so I ignored their negative feedback and decided to go have my eyes tested. Over the years things have sure changed, and not in a good way! I would have to agree with all the negative feedback unfortunately, and wished I'd listened to the people who had tried to warn me. I found her to be very abrasive, rude and it was not a pleasant experience at all. I would not recommend her if you would like to have someone who is compassionate, and has a nice "bedside manner" that you would hope for and come to expect when visiting a "professional" in the medical field. The office is clean and on the surface appears to be a place you would feel comfortable in, state of the art equipment - until the moment you come in contact with Dr. R. Saunders. She seems to be a person who doesn't enjoy her job anymore, and either needs a nice long vacation or to retire from the profession she clearly no longer enjoys.

No pressure to buy, they genuinely wanted me to find the right product for me. I think I went back at least three times and each time they listened to what my problems were and provided contacts that fit my changing needs. I would recommend these guys to anyone who asks.

When I picked up my glasses I did not get them adjusted because this is the first time I have ever…read moreworn this style of frame and I wanted to get used to them. I went in yesterday to have my glasses adjusted and was told that I would have to wait for someone to help me which is fine. Someone with an air cast on her foot came out to help me did not bother to find out how I wanted them adjusted and took them into the lab. She then came out without the glasses and asked if the nose pads were too far apart and I said yes. She then went back into the lab and after a few minutes brought my glasses out again and asked me to try them on. I did try them on and the nose pads were tight but I didn't think there would be a problem with them. She told me that if I needed them tightened even more to just come back and they would adjust them for me. Never once did she check to see how they fit on my face before trying to adjust them. Today they have made my nose so sore that I had to adjust them myself. My mom was in at the same time yesterday for an eye exam. My mom needed new glasses and said that she wanted the bifocal line lowered. A different lab tech took the measurements off the lenses she currently has and lowered the bifocal line 2mm without ever checking with my mom or showing my mom what it looked like. She did not explain what she had done to anyone and we kept sitting there until the tech finally explained it to my mom. Another person had to some along and draw the line on my mom's glasses to show her where the new line would be and to make sure that it would be okay with her. There is a serious lack of professionalism at the Kamloops store. Even though I bought my glasses there and I like the optometrist, I will be going elsewhere as much as I can.

The optometrist at Nicola Eye Care was possibly the most friendly and welcoming person I have ever…read moreseen to date. My needs were taken care of start to finish. The optometrist even took the time to recheck my eyes to ensure I did not have anything degenerative going on. Staff were very helpful and friendly when aiding me to pick out new glasses; and they even adjusted them perfectly to fit my face so they wouldn't fall off when I moved my head around. Which was something that I never experienced before at the eye doctors. Very happy with the service! I highly recommend!

I had previously gone to another optometrist but felt his diagnosis of my problem was not right. There was no comparison between the two optometrists. At FYI, my exam lasted an hour and she took the time to explain in detail about my vision problems. I would highly recommend FYI Doctors if you would like a honest and thorough exam.

Bought glasses here...waited two years for the next eye exam and gave them my glasses to change out…read morethe lens to up date the prescription....the new lens caused headaches...so I took them back and complained. They refunded the cost and Alana kept my glasses. I paid close to $300.00 dollars just for the frames! "Lauren Hutton" black frames. I remember the last technician complimenting on them, and he is no longer there. As the years past...I had received another pair of glasses from another optometry but this optometry was in another province. No problems with the glasses. It was two years until I needed another eye exam....thought I would try them again...thinking people will change and giving Alana another opportunity to correct the situation. I gave them my glasses for the updated prescription again ...and again they were giving me headaches...so went back in, complained, refunded and had to demand to receive my glasses back...she replaced the old lenses with some ones that were in the garbage can. Just disgusted with the whole ordeal! Start to wonder if she put the right lenses in the right glasses in the first place. They finally lost my business...gave Alana more than enough opportunity to be honest and correct the situation!
