Really happy with my appointment today. Easy, friendly check-in process. Dr. Beiler was professional and thorough with his exam. And I really enjoyed working with Maria for the fitting and ordering. I was happy with the selection, I found a great pair for under $70 and they even fixed a pair of my glasses from a different provider! The only person that was a little odd was a young gentleman there who brought me back for the air puff test, he definitely did not want to be at work and kept telling me how over it he was. It was 9:15am lol. This place also seems to get busy pretty fast, I would recommend it early appointment if you want to be in an out. read more

SCAMMING PEOPLE OUT OF MONEY!!! I went for my eye exam and once i started looking at glasses they told me my insurance had some info wrong but that they did accept it and to come back when it was fixed so I did the male that was supposed to be helping me called me over and the second I sit down before asking for my name my insurance or any information says "I don't even think we take your insurance" which was odd since he wouldn't know if they took it since he didn't even know what insurance I had yet and he was not the same person I dealt with the first time. They ended up telling me my insurance only cover $200 frames and that there was add ons I had to pay for so I ended up going to vision works where they told me that my insurance actually covers $250 in frames and all add ons and that I should have no out of pocket cost moral of the story is optical outlets not only wasted my time and didn't want to do his job but they were trying to scam me out of money read more

I hand my exam on March 31 and ordered my glasses. I was told 7-10 days. They still aren't ready as of today the 19th.

I loved working with Sherri. She's smart, savy, knows her business. Friendly and professional, she gets 5 stars. Then there is the rest of the staff. Pretty much ignored by the front desk while the two "chat" with each other. Half of the rest of the staff were not involved with customers who sat waiting...and waiting...and waiting. Hope they bring the staff up to speed. The optomotrist was fine, Sherri was great. Love my glasses. read more

I have used this establishment for quite a few years, so when I scratched the lens on one pair and broke the earpiece on another I went back for the replacements. I ordered new lenses to be placed in the frames that I had purchased from them less than a year before, and new frames for the pair that had a broken earpiece, also less than a year old. I expected to pay for these as I felt it was not their fault. When I got my invoice I was charged $65.00 extra because the new lenses were not put into new frames from them but in the frames I had purchased from them less than one year prior. I questioned this and was told the manager was not in but she would call me the next day, which she did. She said that was the way it was and that was the final story. Will not go back. Too bad, I was a customer of theirs for many years. read more

Not sure what happen but my glasses ordered never got sent in by them after my appointment. So I went to check on my order status 2 weeks later couldn't find no info. Called store twice during store hours, got no answer. Check my bank account, they took the money out. So called corporate number and they were able to fix the issue but with no explanation on why the order was not sent in but the money taken out. All in all took a month to get my glasses. Place is ran like a DMV, always crowded. Will say when I was there the workers where friendly. read more

The majority of the staff is friendly, with some rotten apples mixed into the bunch. The technicians work hard to keep this place afloat, but it's not enough. The older optometrist was odd, stodgy, and unfriendly. The appointment took more than 3.5 hours from start to finish; I've never sat in an optical shop waiting room this long. read more

Went there last week to get exam and new glasses it's like a meat market they just want to give you a number and get you out of there they said 7-8 days for glasses I called today check status it said almost 30 days when I called to see why was told the store isn't answering there phone I have never seen a store run so crazy I definitely will not be going back there read more

Quite Rude. Thinking I heard my name called as next in line to pick up my new glasses, I was rudely and loudly told to "sit down and wait until my name is called". Since I was standing in front of the girl, she apparently wanted the entire building to hear her. That's it for me when there's better less expensive glasses on-line. read more

Have used this office off and on for. Years now but it's really the only ones who take my insurance at this moment so I do t have much of a choice on a fixed income. Last year I had my eyes checked to go back from glasses for a year to contacts again. The first exam I was told my one eye had changed a lot and now both eyes we're the same script. The didn't have my script in the brand of contacts I wanted so the Dr put a slightly stronger prescription in my eyes until mine could be ordered and come in. While checking out the woman checking me out went in the back and got me another pair of contacts that were what my script called for just a different brand. When I got home I noticed I couldn't make out anything on my phone so I called and was told I had to see the same Dr again for a recheck or pay out of pocket to see a new one. I didn't have the money so I did the recheck ( mind you this was 3 days later) and was then told my eyes we're far sighted on one side and near sided on the other and that was my issue. I went ahead and left it ended up for the last year and a half using my glasses with a script in them probably 5 years old but I still see better than anything he put me in. So I'd love to see a new eye place but since my insurance doesn't really have options I'm screwed read more

They tempt you in with specials, but the quality is not there. My glasses broke twice in 8 months. The price of extras such as a tint is exorbitant, never again. Also having a young girl on reception with an attitude was not a good start. I went to get reading glasses and when I could not see the form, she loudly stated that I should do the best I can. I was told my insurance covers everything. Nope my contact fitting was $99. I figured I'll deal with my insurance. I have never had a quicker exam before, the doctor didn't listen to anything I stated. I told him I've always worn the same kind of contact for over ten years and had no problem. He suggested try the monthly contacts. I said no, again I reiterated that I wear daily contacts And never had any problem. He wrote out my prescription for monthly contacts anyways. He didn't listen to a word I said. I don't want them because for over 10 years I've been wearing my brand. I was not going to order from them as I already didn't like them. I went to optical outlets in Spring Hill/Weeki Wachee looking to purchase a pair of glasses paid for by my insurance company. After getting the free check up I sat down with the salesman and he informed me that I could get the glasses cheaper if I paid for them myself then if I used my insurance so being the gullible person I am I took his advice and purchased a $243 pair of glasses out of pocket and being the nice salesman that he is said he was going to give me a free pair of reading glasses. I found out later the pair of reading glasses were actually my insurance paid glasses and basically I was conned into purchasing an extra pair of glasses by that salesman costing me $243. ( same exact prescription ).I am on Social Security and $243 is a lot of money to me. The salesman at this business ( optical outlet )was basically a ConMan and I took it hook line and sinker. My suggestion to you is do not do business with this company. On Monday I will be contacting corporate. read more

So I called my insurance and they sent me a list on name to go and have a office visited done. I called optical outlet and asked do they take my insurance and they said yes. I don't remember the lady name she made my appointment for me and I didn't make my appointment online. Plus the person that made my appointment working for eye doctor don't even name what is an IOP check. She stated what is that and you work for the eye doctor. I had appointment today got to the desk and again stated that. I'm here for my appointment an IOP check the lady stated what is that are you serious you work for an eye doctor she stated office visit. She said it was a $69 for today and I stated why is that because my insurance covers it then you stated that I was told about the $69 why would I pay $69 dollars when my insurance covers my exam. I was never told about that I would have never kept the appointment . So when I initially made the appointment the person that didn't know what a IOP check told me hold on a minute she had to ask someone and then she came back and said yes by them not knowing the medical term and said yes and I told them that I had already had a full eye exam in March that I don't need a eye exam. I said do you understand. Then lady today says they cover it if you're do eye exam. I understand that clearly I told them a month ago what it was for . I was upset because I waited a whole month for nothing. The lady at the desk trying to dispute me down who written those notes told a lie because I didn't make that appointment on line she helped me and that I wasn't told I had to pay $69 I wouldn't have made that appointment at all. I had my appointment cancel and asked for the manager name and but came right back it. The lady on the retail floor looking at you like you're stupid and the young lady and the other lady when I walked back in LAUGHING at the front desk like that's professional and I said something about that . My appointment got screwed up with people that do T know how to do there job and I had every right to be upset I drive 36 miles to be told something that they lied about. I give them 2 stars because they make you pay for everything. I have insurance and wanted to try contacts for the first time. They charge a hefty price for a " trial ". I was never told insurance doesn't cover this and I had to pay over 200 dollars. There sign state 2 pairs of glasses and eye exam for 99.99. I got one pair of glasses and a exam, I paid over 200 dollars. I had to call and cancel my contacts order because I could not see as well. I recommend not using them. Walmart I could have paided 50 for my exam and got two glasses for less than 100 dollars with out my insurance. I now have to wait for my refund 7 to 10 days. They fail to inform you of the information beforehand. Don't go to them. read more

Went for an eye exam. I was told to get there early to fill out paper-work! Signed in at desk. Nobody greeted me or asked if I needed help.Another person wanted to know when will they bring the paper-work they told him they would bring. We both waited 15-20 minutes. He and I both had a 2:00 appointment. It was after 2:00 when we finally got the paper-work. Waited again to get a air test on my eyes? Had to ask the girl if she wanted my doctor's order. Had eye test and pupils dilated. Was told to sit back in the front. I finally got to talk with someone at a desk. She wanted to know what type of frames I wanted. I told her my scrip did not change much so I would think about it. I asked about men's frames on the board and was told they are unisex together-WHAT!! I was told insurance portion had changed to a lower amount. I was never informed about this. Another person came over and offered to split the difference for only metal frames under $115. What was going on? SELL-SELL-SELL!! Did not like their tactics. Probably will not go back. They were determined to sell me new glasses, regardless. If only I could give zero stars. While the Mngr and front end staff were fine, DR. MIDDAUGH was the worst human I've ever come across. I brought my highly disabled and terminally ill mother in for her first eye exam and glasses in 20+ years. After multiple heart attacks and a half dozen strokes (of which I stated on her forms) she is slow and needs patience. she cannot drive and needs help with every step at an appointment like this. She just got out of the hospital from another heart attack and stent surgery just a month ago and it very physically and emotionally fragile. She had been reading her meds wrong, so it was time for glasses. Not even 1 full minute into the exam with Dr. Middaugh ( barely enough time for 2 screens of letter to pass), the Dr was scolding my mom angerly, reprimanding her to just answer the questions. Telling her she's not listening, saying if she wants her script right to just listen. I could see my elderly mom panicking after doing nothing but ask questions if she was doing things right. She was just asking if she was supposed to be able to see the letters correct, or if it was ok to say they were still blurry. She had barely answered 3 questions before he lost his control fully. At this point I had to pop in an ask that he have patience and please go slower with her. I tried to explain that she's had many strokes which not only slow her thought and speech process down, but makes her easily nervous and quick to become uncontrollably and dangerously emotionally upset. He whipped around so fast saying I needed to keep quiet and let him do his job, that I'm not helping and hes been doing this how every many years. I begged, please we have to stay calm or she is liable to have a serious heath crisis with her heart. He again was yelling at this point for me to keep quiet in such a vile manor. He said along the lines, "Shes not listening. You want her glasses right? Just sit and keep quiet. She needs to listen." I begged, please I'm just trying to ask if we can ask her in a calmer way. He again refused to let me speak, speaking over my for several minutes, repeating the same this to be quiet. He went back to working with her with a vengeance. "That's not what I asked. If that what I said to do? Why aren't your listening?" On and on punishing this frail 74 year old woman who absolutely was barely able to get a word in let alone do anything remotely wrong. I was floored and demanded he correct his attitude, which he was yelling back in my face to "keep quiet, you're not helping." Refusing to let me explain that he needs to calm down to keep from triggering a medical reaction from her. When I say I am lucky I didn't lose my mother today, that's an understatement. I spoke with the store mngr who chose to comp my mothers entire bill, while my mom sat with another girl. By the time I left the managers office I was in tears and shaking, and my mother was having a full blown cardiac emergency and white as a ghost and barely able to stand. We left with her needing to take several emergency meds to get her heart and self under control. This man should NOT be allow to practice with another person after this dangerous and outright inhumane display of unprofessional and cruel behavior. read more

I felt like I walked into a welfare office. They confirmed my appointment 6 times and I still had to wait over 30 minutes for step one. There were over 30 people waiting. The glasses covered by my insurance were mixed within everything else, so even seeing what I could choose from was a waste of time. Then, rather than helping me with what my plan did offer, they kept wanting me to pay more than full price for extras which were being offered to those who had no insurance for considerably less. Between feeling like bait and switch and a used car lot and the welfare office feel, plus not a friendly face amongst the technicians, I have sworn to never return. The doctor deferred my questions and was condescending with the minimal answers given. Then they put a frame on hold- I had chosen none, making my choice from a different optical office take days longer before they finally released my hold and notified the insurance company. read more
