I usually dont leave reviews but im so frustrated and pissed. I purchased my glasses and received an email on Wednesday they were in to come pick them up. Friday came I went in they searched for my glasses and couldn't find them. After calling the crystal river office they realized they were there and I ordered then from the inverness office. I was told an employee would drop them off Friday evening I could come in and get the Saturday morning. Mind you im 45 mins away from my house. I still ended up purchasing sunglasses for 300.00. I returned this morning (saturday) they were not at the office now im pissed but what can you do. So I decided to go to the crystal river office to get them. The front office file was calling over there to tell them to wait for me. Got half way to crystal river and she called back to tell me they weren't there. Apparently an employee is at home riding around with my glasses that never brought them to inverness office for me to pick up this morning and I live 45 mins away. You decide how yo improve this situation. Bc my glasses and my personal information is riding around with your employee. Hipaa violation is they have any personal information on me. Which could be a lawsuit. Im so livid, an inconvenience for me. And very unprofessional and unacceptable. I have no idea what I may do at this moment. Worthless pair of glasses... After cataract surgery I ordered a pair from this location for a bifocal. Came in as a heavy glass. Bifocal lens started at the nose bridge to 50% across the bottom and stops. You have to be either beady eyed or cross eyed to use them. Unusable. Back to dime store readers which are of greater use. read more

They've been bought out by some big corporation and don't seem to care anymore. Last years exam was fine. This year I couldn't even get a call back to make an appointment. I went there and was told they no longer have a in-house doctor but I could have an online exam! I said no thanks and that I'd look for a new office. She said 'okay' with a sappy smile, I wouldn't be surprised if they closed altogether. read more

Last year we bought rx glasses for my husband at this location. Both was transition progressive One was sunglasses the other everyday ones. When first received I realized I didn't have a clear view with them. Distance was bleary on both. We took them back but they claimed they were to the right rx. Year later I talked my husband to try them again. He was refusing before. Our insurance was here and glasses aren't cheap. As soon as we walked in my husband went over to look at the selections. As I was walking away I hear a man at the counter saying there was something wrong with his glasses. He could not see clearly with them. I walked over to my husband and told him we're leaving. As we left I told him about the conversation and that once was maybe a fluke but twice think somethings wrong in the making of glasses. Your vision is more important than taking a chance. Guess we're willing to pay the extra for getting what we pay for. read more

I wear progressive glasses and have to constantly move my head when using my computer. I went in and asked the doctor specifically for glasses for using at my computer only. He recommended I get bifocals with reading in the bottom since I usually have papers I am referring to beside my computer. They were worthless as what you read while working at your computer is almost the same distance as the computer screen. After trying them for a week I took them back and they are remaking them the way I asked for them initially. However, the bifocal was an extra $30 and they would not refund it. They should since I didn't ask and the doctor recommended something that did not work. read more

Let me say that the girls in the office are great, very polite nice, and helpful. Now Dr Day on the other hand, is awful. While he was checking my eyes , "he told me what I was able to see, even when I tried telling him I cannot, he still wanted to know my best vision on 1 or 2 lens. Each time I tried to tell him I could not see each time. Then at one point while trying to tell him that I am having issues seeing the chart, he abruptly said, "if I cannot have your full attention, we will stop right now, and end this exam", I guess at that point I should have walked out, but I was unsure what my insurance company would do in that case. I am very disappointed, I still have issues with the one eye I originally complained about, and he told me there was nothing wrong. Let's see what happens when I get my new glasses. I will be following up with my insurance company to let them know my experience here. read more

I chose this location based on my insurance. I went in for my annual exam and was met with a very pleasant front office staff. Once in the exam room all that ended. The optometrist is an over confident arrogant jerk. As someone else commented, he's British. He dilated my eyes then tried to get me to read the numbers on the wall. Everything was out of focus and nothing seemed to help. He became very short and frustrated because I told him everything was worse because he dilated my eyes. He arrogantly said he could not help me and ended the exam. What an ass hat. I guess I need to find another eye doctor. I recommend you do as well. read more

The staff and Dr. were very nice, the place is clean. I had an issue removing my contact they just provided me. I felt I needed to have it checked to make sure the contact was out. The Dr. was gone for the day and no one else could assist so I waited until the next day. Called in the morning and was told to come in. No fee was never mentioned on the call. I was told here is normally a fee for the appointment. I paid 220. dollars for the exam just the day before. I did not pay the $40 or $45 to have them check to see if the contact was still in my eye, but since I was not paying I was not allowed any questions. The contacts samples are not working and I am not going back since I find it wrong to have to pay until they get it right. I will not recommend this business read more

Very disappointed with Opti-mart! I made an appointment for my wife and myself to get our annual eye exam at Opti-mart in Inverness, Fl. for today 1/25/2024. When we arrived, I was told that my wife did not have an appointment scheduled. only me and she would have to reschedule. We've been customers of Opti-mart together for several years and we always have our exams during the same visit. I made this clear when making the appointment. I provided insurance information to your scheduler for both my wife and myself when making the appointment. It should have been clear what I wanted. Your representative at the store was totally inflexible and insisted my wife come back at another time. Although, she would have to wait in the store while my eyes were examined. The trip to your store is over an hour round trip for us and my wife has mobility issues. No consideration or accommodation was offered to her. We both left without an eye exam. Very poor customer service. The Sight360 operation may be efficient, but it is far from effective. We will find a provider, more caring and considerate. read more

Opti-mart was one of several listed as network providers for BCBS vision providers. I was impressed with my visit. Everyone was masked, I was immediately fitted with frames I wanted and the order was placed. My old glasses were adjusted for me. My order was completed in 5 days and again a quick visit to pick my glasses up, adjusted for me and I was on my way. Very happy with staff that serviced me. Definitely would recommend Opti-mart. read more

I chose Opti-mart due to insurance coverage, and I'm glad I did. During these difficult times I was glad to see the staff taking the necessary and just plain simple precautions to help keep everyone as safe as possible. They ask customers to wait and be escorted inside after an initial temperature check. Once inside they gather info on what styles you are interested in and bring you samples. I thought they have attempted to make everyone feel very comfortable when visiting their store. I felt that a short wait to be seen is way more important than everyone coming and going the way things used to be. I hope all their locations are operating the same way. read more

This is a review of Dr Paul Day OD - not Optimart in general. I cannot recommend this optometrist to anyone. He has an agenda and is pushing over corrected vision and multi focal lenses (which are needed when your vision is over corrected). This also results in higher exam charges so more money for him... He does not listen to what you have to say. Basically told me what I was doing with my lenses was all wrong, except for the solution I was using. I am happy with my current glasses and contacts. My contact prescription was expired and I was having an issue with my left lens only since starting a new box. I just wanted to be able to order a new box of lenses. During the exam I asked him to move the piece of equipment in front of me so I could talk to him. I was ignored. I asked again but was ignored again. I started to move it but it just tilted a bit so I stopped. He tilted it back and pushed it back in my face and said the exam was not over. Totally unprofessional. He wanted to over correct my vision to 20-15 (this is better than 20-20) and stated I needed all new glasses and contacts. When I explained that I did not want this he told me my idea was rubbish and that if I did not want to listen to him I should go somewhere else. I have never been treated so rudely. His early attempt at listening to my needs was just for show. I have been wearing contacts for over 25 years and have never had an experience like this. read more

Earlier this year (pre-COVID) I took my prescription to this location to fill for new eyeglasses. I waited the two weeks for pickup and fitting and returned. Almost immediately I noticed I could not read the words on the card I was handed to read with my new bifocals on. I told the young woman I couldn't read the words and she said to hold the card closer to my face. She adjusted the glasses and sent me on my way. I went to the TJ Max and started looking around for something to go with my new cute glasses. Problem, I still couldn't read even the price tags. So I pulled my old glasses out of my purse and put them on to finish my shopping. I called back and spoke to someone on the phone and was advised to go back to the eye doctor that wrote the prescription and have him verify correctness of the prescription. Well they are only an hour away but with COVID I have yet to be able to drive to Brooksville for followup. Not impressed with their lack of customer service. The same day I picked up my glasses there was an older gentleman at the counter complaining about his prescription being wrong and the argued with him that these were what he wanted. Does anyone see a pattern here? Forward to November 2, I had a new appointment for another eye exam as I really need new glasses and the CR location was just as rude and overpriced. Guess I will go somewhere else that is reliable. What happened to the customer is always right? She (the optometrist) argued with me to go back to the original and have them check the prescription. Geez, give me a break. Ding they got my money twice. read more
