I searched for him as he was the best eye doctor I had previously seen. The other day I had the pleasure of being examined again by Dr. Bottaro. It was time for me to finally have a consultation to remove my cataracts. Yes, I am a big chicken and delayed this as long as I could. The visit started with a wonderful greeting from the staff. I found everyone to be extremely pleasant and helpful. Next a very nice young lady took me to the back and performed a bunch of examination procedures prior to my seeing the doctor. The equipment they have is absolutely the best state of the art!!! The doctor had reviewed all my information and then wanted to hear from me about the issues I was having. After an extremely thorough examination the doctor went over everything with me. The doctor talks in plain English so you're not left wondering what all the medical terms are. Very happy to hear my eyes are in excellent condition. As I stated I do have cataracts, not at the serious point yet but clearly time to remove them before they become serious. The doctor answered every question I had and I left extremely happy.I will HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr Bottaro!!! This doctor is one of the absolute BEST doctors I have every seen. I can't say enough good things about this doctor. Just remember a really thorough eye exam doesn't take minutes! Based upon my experience I know a very thorough eye exam, for my eyes, can easily take at least an hour. I have been to other less caring eye doctors who give you a fast exam, answer minimal questions, don't explain anything to you then rush you out the door! If you want a thorough exam it takes time! Dr Bottaro doesn't rush you in and out! He takes all the time needed to explain everything to you in plain English. Every question and concern is answered.

The nursing staff, anesthetist, front desk made the experience so much easier than I had imagined. The center is very new-looking and does not have a "hospital" smell. There is plenty of parking. I was impressed with the friendly efficiency, the clear-cut organization, the willingness to listen to me when I was advising about my brother, the concern and support for me during the experience, and the obvious joy they feel when they are doing their work to the best of their ability. They REALLY wanted my brother to see again; I felt very confident that my brother was getting the best care possible. Special shout-out to Jodie who wanted me to report on how my brother is recovering: he now can see me coming into a room and is much more involved in his surroundings. We still have the other cataract to remove, and I will be back to this wonderful facility. This was the greatest possible experience I could ever have. Both eyes came out 20-20, across all distances from 16" to infinity, with zero astigmatism. They started out about -3.5D nearsighted and up to 1.5D astigmatism. Absolutely awesome experience. I am a PITA about surgery. I research and question everything. Its sometimes hard for doctors to put up with me and my questions. Dr. Shumski not only did great work, but was gracious about my questions and called me 3 times to answer questions. I also got several email answers. I received full documentation about the surgery and all questions/concerns were answered. His staff and associates were also wonderful. From the receptionist to techs to ophthalmologist who reviewed my post-surgery progress. I cannot be more happy about the entire experience.
