Close to I-75 just off Hwy 56 in Wesley Chapel, this Optimal Performance & Physical Therapies location has been open approximately 3 years. It falls under an umbrella company owned & managed by physical therapists. That may explain why OPPT was named one of the Top 100 Workplaces (2021) in the greater Tampa Bay area. There are 19 OPPT locations throughout Florida w/ the vast majority in the Greater Tampa Bay area.
OPPT's mantra is "Dedicated therapists providing a patient-first approach to achieving OPTIMAL results." Specialities w/in physical therapy include: Women's Health; Sports; Orthopaedics; Vestibular Rehab; Neurological Rehab; Lymphedema & Oncology Rehab.
Most initial appointments can be scheduled w/in 24 hrs of referral; the most qualified therapist will be assigned to the case (based on the client's disability).
In May, after a nasty April fall in a classroom, I started physical therapy here as a Worker's Comp case. I was hesitant to not use my previous PT office, but my employer gave me no choice. Thankfully, I love this physical therapy office! The PT's are friendly. And physical therapist Clayton, who does double duty as the office manager, is EXCELLENT. In just a handful of visits, I am already seeing PHENOMENAL results! Clayton can be grueling at times, but he apparently doesn't push me further than I'm able to go. He also communicates well-- answering the multitude of questions I have & making suggestions. He was very accommodating the two times I've had to postpone my previously scheduled appointment.
This OPPT location is closed on the weekends, but open 7 AM to 7 PM Mon thru Thurs, & 7 AM to 5 PM on Fridays. Clients may cancel or reschedule w/o fear of fiscal penalty. The workout area is always clean-- SEE PICS. Tables are wiped down after every use. At the current time, temperature checks are mandatory. Masks are mandatory ONLY for those who are unvaccinated. I've never had to wait in the lobby past my appointment time; each time it arrived, Clayton retrieved me. Ice or heat are applied to sore areas before the hour long session concludes.
In the therapy room, there's a large wall TV (usually showcasing movies) that is set w/ captions; it can be viewed from the exercise bicycles & a few of the tables. The bathroom has always been clean-- the lobby, too. There you'll find free coffee & a wall TV.
Parking is plentiful. There are a few MINOR drawbacks w/ this particular location: only basic hand therapy is available; there is not a fulltime receptionist at the desk (the PT's must handle check-in/check-out duties whenever necessary); & Wifi service is less than perfect. (If you have Verizon or Spectrum, you'll have better luck.) Since my suggestion of adding creative artwork to the ceiling tiles was poo pooed by staff:), I have an alternative suggestion: Place on the lobby wall a framed photo w/ bio of each therapist on staff, as well as administrative staff. It would make Optimal Performance even more patient-friendly.
Due to a birth defect involving my hips, I have seen physical therapists on & off for 40 years. NEVER before have I seen positive results so quickly. I initially did not want to come here (due to my familiarity w/ a PT at Select Physical Therapy on Fowler Ave), but I am thankful my employer insisted otherwise.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this OPPT physical therapy practice! It is working out GREAT for me-- moving me along quickly to reaching my goal of very good physical health. read more
