My friend and I visited Crandon Beach before his Miami departure. The day was cloudy, like a typical Miami summer day... but then it cleared. Right before leaving we found Openseas Cafe. Yummy provided a phenomenal service. We sat at the bar, I had a mojito and my friend had a piña colada. I noticed they make plantain chips right in there, how do I know? I saw the plantain peels. Lovely spot to grab snacks and drinks at the beach. While we were waiting to rent a two-seater bike, we grabbed some food. I ordered a hot dog and piña colada which were both delicious. The hubby ordered shrimp tacos which were around $15. The tacos tasted fresh and the sauce inside hit the spot. However, it didn't taste like it was worth the amount. The piña colada was super smooth and refreshing. There was enough alcohol in it but it didn't taste of straight rum. Customer service was super friendly. My entire drink fell due to the wind and the cafe replaced it with another full drink. Score! It was $25 to rent a bike for an hour which was a pretty good deal. We were able to bike the short trail on the beach and then made our way to the botanical garden which was beautiful. It's truly an exercise so the hour ride is well worth it. read more

I found a hair in my burrito. They don't wear hairnets so I figured it could happen and was going to eat around it. When I pulled on it I noticed a lot more hair was coming out so I started to record when I found out it was completely cooked in the burrito. I went back to tell them I just wanted a refund on the burrito, but they said no because I ate part of the other half of the burrito. They instead offered to make another, but at this point I wasn't hungry anymore and I was annoyed that they were implying that I did it myself. I told them that they could clearly see if was inside the burrito, and there was no way for me to do that and they waved me off and finally gave me a refund. read more

Menu is on the more expensive side and the portions are kind of small which is a con but I think the perfect location is a factor in the price. I got the steak/beef tacos and they were great! I also got the Miami Vice as a drink which was ok. Right on the beach and had games with lots of places to sit. Super cute! read more

This is a great place right on the beach. It makes the beach. Plenty of games to play and keep you entertained. Drinks are very reasonably priced. We had a fun time. Next time I am at Key Biscayne I will visit for sure. read more

Horrible customer service, there system always crashes and you have to wait 30 minutes to put an order and then 30 minutes to get it! Apart from that the food is ridiculously expensive. Two tacos $13 and the prices only go up from there for their other items. Waited for over an hour in the sun cause they have no shade, to not even receive anything from my order because "their system" didn't put the order through. Afterwards the lady saw me with a bag and attacked me trying to see if I got that food for free or something when the bag was my sisters daughters chicken nuggets. The staff fights with each other in front of everyone. If you could avoid this place I would at all cost drive out and get something close by and drive back it will be WAY FAST! Regardless everything is a short 5 minute drive away instead of wasting your time here. read more

Hiding in plain sight.. this place is sneakily one of my favorites if not my favorite place on the Key. Great outdoor atmosphere, which is even more important in times of COVID. Very casual and fun environment. And then the food. Ceviche is bomb. The fried shrimp is the best I've had in recent memory. The tacos are great too. All freshly prepared, served piping hot (or cold in the case of ceviche), and very well seasoned. read more

Stumbled on this location on our bike ride And so glad we did. It was adorable. They had all sorts of family fun games with fun salsa Latin music and the food was delicious. We had the best fish and shrimp tacos ever. Seriously incredible. And the ceviche was super fresh. The best part were the frozen margaritas ! Perfect for a hot day in the beach. After arriving at the beach I saw two chairs and an umbrella but no attendant. I scanned the QR code on the chair and was able to easily rent them for the day. When the umbrella wouldn't stay up I text them and an attendant was there within 5 minutes to fix it and set me up. Later I ordered food for delivery and it came quickly. Not very adventurous today but a Mexican grilled cheese on a very freshly made tortilla with pico de gallo was just enough for a quick beach lunch. Don't think I've ever had pico that tasted that fresh. And the strawberry daiquiri and frozen lemonade were both really good as well. Very refreshing!!! And when I asked to add a water they told me the server had already left but they would have him bring one back to me right away! We came to rent bikes, and ended up hanging out for a while (once we finished our bike ride). This little surprise place is great. Food menu is good, although I would have preferred 3 fish tacos for $17 instead of 2. I appreciated they use sustainable cardboard boxes instead of plastic or styrofoam. social distancing and snowcones. Good vibe and music. This is not a simple hotdog concession stand. They have games like corn hole and Jenga set up for people to play with Beach cruiser mountain bike and quad bike rentals and even butterfly gardens. It's a little oasis in Crandon Park Beach. When you rent the bikes, you can go peddle around the botanical gardens and down the boardwalk for a beautiful day. read more

The place looked fun with lots of activities for kids to keep busy when you have to wait for your food. We tried the whole fish which was good but not worth $40. The tocos were ok but again not worth $15 for two chicken tacos and the real disappointment was the ceviche... well it tasted very slimy. It might be that we are use to more Mexican or Peruvian ceviche but this was definitely slimy. If your looking for over priced food conveniently located by the beach, this is the spot for you! I relied on Yelp reviews and ordered food this past Sunday. First of all, no one picked up the phone and I called several times. I placed an order using the scan system and when you place an order online, it says for pickup when the paper menu they hand out at beach says delivery. But again no one ever picked up the phone to confirm (and I tried many times). Food was delivered better than the time estimate given (within 1hour) and I only knew it was ready because I heard the delivery vehicle. Lucky for me I was not in the water or at the bathroom at the time. Food was eh at best. Fish tacos - we asked for no tomatoes, but it came with no lettuce or onions either. Rice and bean side dish was plain. Save your $ and bring food or don't do delivery. Probably best to order at the actual restaurant based on reviews. read more

Great location, decent food, but horribly slow service. I wouldn't recommend arriving hungry.
