Located right along the river, it's a scenic place. The inside is equally as relaxing. We visited on a chilly day so my kids wanted to sit inside. We ended up getting a table, where they enjoyed drawing and using all the art supplies from the station inside the room. This unique business is a little grocery store with unique wines, gifts, snacks and other items you'd never imagine you could use, but suddenly seems like you need them! My kids were hungry, so I ordered them 2 personal pizzas. These were incredible. While they were frozen pizzas, the pizza was some of the best I've had. It was classic Neapolitan style with a delicious crust, cheese, topped with mico greens. My kids had a few bites but I feel like I ate more of their pizzas than they did! Inside the main dining room, they have a comfy couch, plenty of art supplies and other great toys to distract the kids. I'd highly recommend this spot. It will definitely be on our list of places to revisit when we come back to Berkeley Springs.

We happened to park right across the street from this place. Looked at the menu and decided this was the place. We ordered the Imperial Crab Balls to start. They were perfectly cooked and loaded with real crab, sitting on top of toasted baguette rounds. Then we ordered the Shrimp Salad with Bacon sub. Roll nicely toasted, tons of shrimp, bacon with lettuce and tomato. It was almost like a po' boy, except the shrimp were sautéed not fried. And the garlic truffle potato chips! I would eat a whole bag of those gems. Our server was top notch and the ambience was perfectly funky. We will be back, next time with our whole crew!

The space has a cozy, slightly speakeasy feel, with plenty of seating at the bar and tables for dinner. The music area is separate from the bar and dining area where we sat, which makes the layout feel lively without having the music sit directly on top of your entrée. There is also a related shop next door, The Naked Olive, where you can buy olive oils, balsamics, tapenades, and other dangerous things you convince yourself are "for later." By the time we were leaving early Saturday evening, they were getting ready for live music, which added to the local, come-stay-awhile feel. We started with a classic martini, and it was excellent. Perfectly balanced, cold, briny, slightly sweet, and served with blue cheese olives. A proper martini is not just a drink, it is a small personality test. We also tried the monthly special, the Dirty Devil, which I believe had bourbon, Coke, and salted caramel. It was good, but the classic martini was the clear winner for me. Service was friendly and helpful. I believe our server was James, and he helped us work through the menu without making us feel like we were preparing for a graduate seminar in small plates. They also honored us with a military discount, which I sincerely appreciated. Food wise, we ordered the Truffled Mushroom Pizza, which was genuinely good, with mushrooms, onions, peppers, and mozzarella. My only note is that the truffle was very subtle, maybe attending more in spirit than in full costume, but the pizza itself worked and I enjoyed it. We also had the Chicken Chesapeake, a sous vide chicken breast topped with crab and Chesapeake sauce. It came with a house salad and house vinaigrette, which was standard but good. As chicken breast goes, the entrée was well cooked, tender, and nicely finished. The crab and seasoning gave it some personality, which chicken breast often desperately needs. The mashed potatoes were hearty and solid. The vegetable du jour was the one underwhelming part of the meal; I am still not entirely sure what it was, and I do not think it was sure either. Overall, I enjoyed The Naked Olive Lounge. It may not be in my top three Berkeley Springs restaurants thus far, but it is definitely a solid entry in the local rotation. The ambiance is warm, the layout is comfortable, the service is friendly, the martinis are legitimately excellent, and the food is good, even if a few details could be stronger. The price point was reasonable, and I would happily come back, especially for a classic martini and live music.

Once you have eaten Bricello's Grilled Formaggio you too will realize this is what a grilled cheese is supposed to be. My Wife and I happened upon this wonderful gem when we were headed to Berkeley Springs State Park for a Roman Bath Soak. We ordered the Italian Grilled Formaggio and the Caprese. Both were beyond amazing. The wonderful couple that were running the food truck were also extremely friendly and delightful. They described the sandwiches, the bread, everything. You knew this food was about to be prepared with love. They told us we were going to love the soak and they literally moved to Berkeley Springs from MD because of it. We ordered the two sandwiches and they aid it would be about 10 minutes. I knew right then and there these were going to be the best damn grilled cheese ever. Now the sandwiches we ordered: The Italian Grilled Formaggio had Mozzarella, Provolone, Fontina, Sun-dried Tomatoes, Pesto, and Country White Bread. The Caprese had Sliced tomatoes, Mozzarella, Pesto, Organic Arugula, Balsamic Vinegar Reduction, and, Sourdough Bread. Both sandwiches were off the chain. The Italian blend of cheeses paired with the Sun-dried Tomatoes and Pesto was such an amazing combination. The bread is from Bakery de France and it is not like regular bread at all. Very hearty flavorful and perfect for a grilled cheese sandwich. The Caprese was also bursting with flavor from the marinated Tomatoes and and Arugula with the Pesto. The Sourdough Bread was a perfect pairing with this sandwich. It was an amazing grilled cheese but it was also refreshing. It was like I just ate a grilled cheese salad. Which doesn't make sense but the flavors in my mouth tell me it does. I would happily eat at this wonderful food truck again. Do your stomach, taste buds and childhood memories a favor and purchase a Grilled Formaggio (aka grilled cheese) from Bricello's!

Housed on the…read moreoriginal Lot #12 of the Town of Bath, the restaurant embraces its history without feeling like a museum where dinner happens to be served. It is warm, intimate, and genuinely connected to the town. Lot 12 offers a seasonal three-course prix fixe menu Friday through Sunday, and reservations are highly recommended. We were fortunate to be served by Betsy, Chef Damian Heath's wife. She was warm, knowledgeable, attentive, and clearly invested in the experience. The service was excellent, with thoughtful pacing and the kind of attention to detail that feels effortless when done well. In a historic home, it would be easy for the setting to do most of the work. Here, the food and hospitality more than hold their own. The menu reflects a chef who is classically French-trained but not afraid to have some fun. We added an extra appetizer because choosing only one seemed unreasonable. The Southern Picnic included deviled eggs, pimento cheese bruschetta, candied bacon, and house pickles, essentially a Southern church picnic that went to culinary school. The fried green tomatoes were crisp and fresh, served with marinated mozzarella and basil aioli. The bread, baked on-site, came with olive oil infused with rosemary and herbs from the restaurant's garden. It was a small touch, but one that reflected the care behind the meal. The lobster bisque, one of the evening's specials, was exceptional: rich, silky, deeply flavorful, and unmistakably lobster, not merely lobster-adjacent. It may have been the best dish of the evening, although choosing a favorite felt unfair given how consistently good every course was. It was the kind of bisque that makes you consider ordering a second bowl, then resent the social conventions preventing you from doing so. Between the appetizers and entrées, we were served a bright, refreshing mango and ginger sorbet as a palate cleanser. For the entrées, we had the BBQ spice-rubbed duck breast and grilled cold-water lobster tail. The duck was beautifully cooked and paired with smoked confit duck hash, tart cherry demi-glace, and fresh fruit salsa. The lobster was sweet, tender, and finished with garlic herb beurre blanc. My only minor complaint is that I would have happily traded some of the mashed potatoes for more lobster. This is less a culinary critique than a personal philosophy. Dessert was equally strong. The upside-down pineapple cake with coconut sorbet was warm, nostalgic, and refined without becoming fussy. The individual Key lime pie leaned a little sweet, which worked for me, although those who prefer a sharper citrus profile may feel differently. The attention to detail was evident throughout the meal. The dining room is charming and thoughtfully decorated, the service polished without being stiff, and the food refined without becoming pretentious. There was no weak course, no service misstep, and nothing we would hesitate to order again. Lot 12 is not merely very good for Berkeley Springs; it would hold its own in a larger and more competitive dining market. We have been exploring the local restaurant scene, and so far, nothing else has come close. We will definitely be back. And if Chef Heath ever decides to sell that lobster bisque by the gallon, I already know where it is going in my refrigerator.
