Bought a beautiful pendant the first day we were in Sydney. Had limited budget of less than $500. They couldn't have been nicer. Travelled all over Eastern Australia and did not see any store as nice as this. Definitely do visit when in Sydney. So, I decided I wanted to buy another pendant for a gift. Back in Canada by now. I would 10/10 recommend Opal Minded to who ever asked or was in search of opals. Not only do they have beautiful pieces, but they have outstanding customer service and client interaction skills. For example, when I was in Sydney for R&R a few days before heading into central NSW. My sister asked if I could find an Australian opal for her. I thought that was something I could find at any jewelry store so I searched up and down Westfield in bondi junction for some. The last jewelry store I came across did not have them but recommended Opal minded (already a great sign). So a group of friends and I ended up walking 4.5 miles to get there, making it in only 45 minutes prior to them closing. This may sound like a lot but i went in with zero knowledge of opals much less of what I wanted. Both Kayliegh and Miranda worked with me to find the right opal for my sister. She even spoke with her on FaceTime, helping pick out an outstanding piece in her price range! They have also checked in on us and the piece over the last year as well as sent a Christmas card wishing us a good one and answering questions regarding other opal pieces I found since then. During the purchase they also recommended great places to eat and hang out while we were still in Sydney. In all I can't wait to have enough budgeted to buy another one of their piece. I had the pleasure of visiting Opal Minded in January 2018. They offer expertise, low-pressure, and a full service experience. While many of the items on display are higher end, they are equally professional showing a variety of beautiful opals at more modest price ranges. Just ask! I don't wear jewelry regularly but couldn't resist buying myself a shockingly beautiful pendant. The piece is consistently complimented every time I wear it. We also picked up a pair of earrings and upon returning home to the States got to experience Opal Minded's top notch post-sale customer service first hand. After a few months, the opal fell out of one of the earrings and cracked in half. I reached out to Opal Minded and after emailing a copy of my original receipt and photos of the earrings, they asked me to send both earrings back so they could match the remaining earring. My contact was very responsive, kept me informed about the process and even offered to reimburse the cost of postage. I took photos of the earrings I sent and the returned pair is a perfect match. My wife and I had an excellent experience shopping here. The sales person was very attentive and actually listened to us. She asked a few general questions to figure out what we were looking for and how much we wanted to spend. Then she brought out several of trays of pieces in our price range and quality bracket. One tip: don't just go in and brush-off the offer of assistance - the display cases hold only a fraction of their entire stock. Another tip: the chains on the necklaces are for display only but they included it for us - so just ask... Once the transaction was complete, they carefully explained the duty-free procedure at the airport. (It was very simple - a uniformed officer simply tore a tag off the bag while we were in queue and we were on our way) They seemed to have pieces in a very wide price range to appeal to most everyone's wallet. read more

Well, I was very pleased when I visited this store in Sydney, where I purchased an opal necklace with the thanks to a very helpful and patient staff. However, I had owned my necklace for less than 6 months when the opal fell out of my pendant. And after trying to contact the store several times about this loss, I have yet to every receive a response. My in store experience really fooled me about the quality of their products. read more
