Stopped in here with my friend for a quick bite to eat. We were so hungry that I honestly forgot to take pictures of the food. Laura got the Gyros plate with tabouli salad and toppings with a Diet Coke. I got the House Special. 3 types of meat, rice, tabouli salad, pita and a Dr. Pepper. Laura said the Tabouli Salad was so good she got a large order to go. We were greeted and our order taken quickly. The restaurant is small but there are a few booths and tables to eat in but mostly this place is a takeout restaurant Was definitely a good meal with a lot of food for the price. This is a tricky review, since I must be careful to rate this restaurant on what it's offering versus my expectations. I've been planning a visit since I occasionally travel past this location and noticed the high Yelp rating. And I really love Greek food. We arrived and were warmly greeted and they were in the process of mopping the floors, indicating a concern for cleanliness (as did the cylinders of sanitary/wet wipes on each table). The prices were decent and the portions were huge. I had the house platter so I could sample the most items. And to this I added french fries and a soft drink. My wife had the chicken platter and also received a huge portion. Despite the business's name, it appears this is closer to Egyptian rather than Greek cuisine. The french fries were perfect - crisp and nicely seasoned. Also, there's no salt on the tables (only hot sauce), although little salt & pepper packets can be found on a wall shelf. The pita bread was soft and warm. Of the meats, the gyro had some subtle flavor and was nice. Nothing tasted bad, but the salad, feta, chicken, rice, tzatziki, etc. was incredibly bland. In fact, it was so tasteless that it was off-putting and we couldn't even finish our meals. We're clearly not the target audience for this type of offering. read more

The food tastes pretty good (rice needs salt and seasoning), but the service isn't the best. They don't seem to pay much attention to online orders. They didn't even see our order until we got there, so we had to wait. We ordered no olives, yet it came with a lot of olives. Then the other dish didn't come with rice at all, even though we ordered the gyro fajita plate that comes with rice. Pretty disappointed with my meal right now. read more

The staff was super helpful aiding me with my choices! They have a toppings bar so you can see everything you'd want to add in your Gyro. We have loved eating here for years now. BTW, they have a rewards card they punch each time you eat. Anyway, a pouch I had in the little pocket above the main pocket in my jeans fell on the floor when I was pulling out my wallet to pay for my wonderful meal a week ago. I didn't realize I had lost the pouch until I got home, so I wasn't sure where I had lost it. A week later I got back to Opah's and asked if they had found a pouch like the identical replacement pouch I had picked up. They had found it and returned it to me. The thing is, the pouch contained hearing aid batteries and under these were my backup set of hearing aids which originally cost about $2,000. Thank you Opah's staff for retrieving and so kindly caring for my lost pouch and for always serving such great food! read more

Went to Oprah this week and had the Gyro combo meal. The gyro had lamb, tomatoes, lettuce, onions, feta, and tzatziki sauce. It was huge but it was so delicious I ate every bit of it. The lamb was so tasty. I had tabouli salad with it. It was savory. Opal's portions are so generous and it came with a soda, for $13. If you like gyros you should try Oprah Greek Grill. This is really the go-to place in Murfreesboro for standard Greek food such as gyros and falafel. It's won the award for best Greek restaurant in the county countless times and they proudly display their plaques on the walls. The food is nothing if not dependable and consistently good. They give you large portions at a fair price. In regards to the menu, it's the same standard offerings as probably every Greek gyro place you've been to. I generally go with a gyro sandwich loaded with fresh tabouli and onions but their platters are really good too. You can tell that the owner really goes the extra mile to make sure that he's making you feel welcome and providing good customer seevice. read more

I ordered take out from this place. I am a fiend for gyro platters. The first thing I wanna mention is the owner and his service. He was so nice and made sure we got everything we wanted. As for the platter, it had a lot of food. I must say I have had better gyro meat in Chicago, but this is pretty good for Nashville area. The hummus seemed a little too oily, but that's my biggest complaint. The ingredients all tasted fresh and the portions were more than plentiful. The food that needed to be hot was hot. Others in my party got Greek salads and Gyro sandwiches. They said their plates were delicious as well. I would definitely recommend going to get your fix! read more

I haven't been here in two years. Don't know why. It was a mistake not coming here for two years. The food is amazing, they scored 100 on the health score, the service was great and the place is super clean. My kind of place. The owner and cooks all are super nice. They prepare everything here fresh every day. The pita bread, the sandwich toppings and the meat are all fresh and delicious. The servings are large. It was really nice to see every ethnicity and every economic group come in for lunch while we ate lunch at one of their tables. Great food and service at a reasonable price does bring people together like nothing else. We both got the gyro plate with fries. We had lamb for the meat. They have about 20 toppings to go on sandwiches. You just tell them what you want on it. Kind of like subway. Really great place if you like authentic Greek food. read more

Let's start by saying I definitely recommend this place. It's considered a fast food place so keep that in mind. Food- very fresh, cooked to order, toppings of your choice are all great and because it's the kind of place where you order at the counter you get it pretty quick. Service- friendly people at the counter. Ambiance- just because its in a strip mall and looks like people call in for take out doesn't mean the sitting/dining area should be boring. All this place needs is a little more attention to making it more inviting. They have a large tv to view while dining but nothing interesting on it. That just makes it blah. Not a fan. However, the food is really really delicious. I'm sure they have a following. My advice is take it a step further and make the ambiance enjoyable for those who prefer to eat out. read more
