SportsWorld! Party time! Excellent!…read more Well, what a gym. To begin with it's built inside a beautiful old milk factory, with original bolsters, bricks and beams. On the ground floor, you enter what appears to be a restaurant. Honestly, I get the impression that people come there for a bite or a drink whether or not they are a member of the club, really tastefully done, but ions away from the juice bar counter in my gym of yore. The staff is extremely friendly, no pushy salespeople to worry about. There is a big, clean, spacious changing room digital code locking lockers, a tanning bed (if that's your bag) and a sauna. I'm really into the idea of the steam bathing and sauna-ing. I was prepared for the fact that this is Europe and it will probs be fully nude. I was ready. However, I got a bit nervous when I saw it was co-ed. I didn't know which door led to what and in brief, I lost the courage to prance around poking my head in strange places. No matter, I'm going to ask for a floorplan and a code of etiquette. Wink. One floor up there is a squash (court?), a spin room, a general workout room and a special, slightly warmed very zen yoga room. (TOOOOONS of classes). Up top you have cardio galore and weights. I believe you get a free introductory training session, as well as periodic check ins to see how you've progressed and to keep you motivated. Oh and they're open til midnight. I'm writing this as I procrastinate to get in there tonight. But I signed up for my week trial, and had zero hesitation about becoming a member, after day 1. Let's hope I have an update for you in three months with pics my new bangin bod and my ghetto booty. Wink. (Have you ever googled "Squats before and after"?)

Firsts can be exciting. Definitely after not doing it for a while. So you work it for 20 min…read more Then you start to think you can endure an extra hour, while normally you give up after 45 min of... well any activity. You even dare to take of your shoes, go barefoot (i prefer to keep my socks on). You never knew you could bend that way or even that far. And the man who's telling you to do so is actually really nice and funny. You actually want more action, so you do it for another 20 min, you're on a roll! 12 hours later and you can't even laugh properly because it hurts. Already. Ugh you're such a wuss... In case you're wondering, I am talking spinning and Body Balance. Of course, whatelse? :) On a serious note: it's a huge gym, with a zilion machines, a sauna and 3 seperate rooms for all those BodyWhateva classes. It looks quite clean although i did see some cobwebs and pile of dust on top of the lockers. Tip #1. Wear short sleeve shirts. People are not allowed to wear tanktops when working on the machines apparently so I had to borrow a shirt (nice service!) During all those BodyWhateva classes however you can wear those skanky tops (is that the reason? Gotta find out) Tip #2. Check upon arrival if the classes are really fully booked. The app (!) said it was, but apparently it wasn't, i could book it on the spot. Tip #3. If you've got a spot, the reception needs to hand you a card which you hand over to the instructor at the beginning of your class. I didn't get one so i had to go back and forth for a shirt and then the card. Great work out though. ;) I wouldn't know how packed it gets during the day, I went between 9.30 - 11.30am. Not too quiet but defo not busy. The classes are predominantly in the AM and after 5pm. I reckon that is prime time. Some of the staff (at least 2) cannot hide their dislike (or pure disinterest) which is a pity. A smile would suffice, fake it till you make I'd say. Most of them are helpful and friendly though. Jet for instance, seems like she's got the right spirit, very chipper! You just have to try and avoid those angry birds and enjoy your work out. Curb your enthusiasm though, it might hurt within 12 hours ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Yours truly Ms Wuss
