SportsWorld! Party time! Excellent!…read more
Well, what a gym. To begin with it's built inside a beautiful old milk factory, with original bolsters, bricks and beams. On the ground floor, you enter what appears to be a restaurant. Honestly, I get the impression that people come there for a bite or a drink whether or not they are a member of the club, really tastefully done, but ions away from the juice bar counter in my gym of yore. The staff is extremely friendly, no pushy salespeople to worry about. There is a big, clean, spacious changing room digital code locking lockers, a tanning bed (if that's your bag) and a sauna. I'm really into the idea of the steam bathing and sauna-ing. I was prepared for the fact that this is Europe and it will probs be fully nude. I was ready. However, I got a bit nervous when I saw it was co-ed. I didn't know which door led to what and in brief, I lost the courage to prance around poking my head in strange places. No matter, I'm going to ask for a floorplan and a code of etiquette. Wink.
One floor up there is a squash (court?), a spin room, a general workout room and a special, slightly warmed very zen yoga room. (TOOOOONS of classes). Up top you have cardio galore and weights. I believe you get a free introductory training session, as well as periodic check ins to see how you've progressed and to keep you motivated. Oh and they're open til midnight.
I'm writing this as I procrastinate to get in there tonight. But I signed up for my week trial, and had zero hesitation about becoming a member, after day 1.
Let's hope I have an update for you in three months with pics my new bangin bod and my ghetto booty. Wink. (Have you ever googled "Squats before and after"?)
