First I need to say we own several properties serviced by various HVAC companies so we have some…read moreexperience with them. At property in Kitchener we had dealt with A1 for over 20 years. In the last few years our service seemed to go down. It ended with an incident last year when they told us that we needed to replace a furnace at a house we owned and rented out. We live in Toronto so we need to trust the company we are dealing with. I guess the A1 people thought we would never question them. I thought it strange that we needed to replace a furnace that was only around 10 years old. We had never had a furnace have a catastrophic problem that quickly. I thought they must be wrong - so they sent me photos of what looked like a really worn out furnace inside with a LOT of built up dust. I have owned properties all my life and am not afraid to get my hands dirty - so this looked strange to me. I called around to some people I knew in Toronto and they knew another company in Kitchener that they would call for us. Within an hour I had a call back from them and they dispatched someone to the home. I had already sent them the photos that I had received from A1 so they knew what to check for. When they arrived they sent me OTHER photos and said the photos I had did NOT COME FROM THIS furnace. At the same time I had sent a contractor friend to Kitchener to look into this for me as well. He verified the photos I had been sent were not from our furnace. That was it - end of relationship with A1. It just takes one incident like this to sour a relationship because you can no longer trust who you are dealing with. I had a new furnace installed, NOT by Aire One. I asked A1 to stop any maintenance contract and we would just part ways. I did not post a review since honestly that could be have been one person at A1 that did this. I took my business elsewhere and I thought this was done. Now while doing my end of year tax preparation I discover that A1 HAS BEEN BILLING ME STILL! This is almost a year later. Unacceptable. Sorry - all credibility lost. If I could do 0 stars I would.

Orsan was recommended by a colleague, and they were able to do the job the same week. Taylor (at least I think that was his name?) was on time and polite and did his thing very efficiently. He was not a teenager. ;) Although I helped him find all the vents (he has to cover all of your vents for the process to work), he was always one step ahead of me and seemed to know where they all were. As he did his thing, he only stopped once to talk to me about my dryer - why it was blocked up and what my options were to deal with the problem long term. I appreciated getting a lesson as part of the service. Will definitely have them back again in 3-5 years to do it again.
