Dr. Brian, her X-ray tech and nurse were great! Caring, supportive, thorough and professional. Everything was quick and efficient.

I was in a difficult situation because I couldn't afford to go to the ER, and I was very worried about what could be causing the pain. Javier took my concerns seriously and went above and beyond to help me. He was able to get me set up for an ultrasound, which helped me start getting answers about several reproductive health issues that needed to be evaluated. At the time, I didn't have a primary care provider and didn't have anyone who could refer me to an OB-GYN. Javier went out of his way to help me get connected with the care I needed and provided me with a referral. He truly didn't have to advocate for me the way he did, but he chose to, and I will always be deeply grateful for that. When you're scared, in pain, and unsure where to turn, having a healthcare provider who listens and genuinely helps can mean so much. Javier treated me with compassion, took me seriously, and helped me take the next steps toward getting answers. I'm deeply thankful to Javier Jaramillo, PA, and the OnPoint Urgent Care team for their kindness and care. I truly appreciate everything they did for me.

Dr. Corson and his staff are attentive, kind, encouraging. Corson is compassionate and clearly explains everything - he won't let you leave unless you feel like you are completely satisfied/understand all information. It's funny, I see a lot of negative reviews about this location, which doesn't make sense. I can only think it's because they are limited to one doctor and in our high-speed society, we don't have the patience to wait. I have a feeling that people who are, by the nature of their need to visit, in pain are struggling and looking to strike out. My heart goes out to them, but I think it's misplaced anger. The wait may be long, but the service and care is excellent. Kurt Muenstermann

Professional in person. Shady with customer service on the phones…read more I visited the little clinic in March 2019. I was supposed to be seen at 5:30PM as they were closing at 6. It was 5:55 and the NP was behind a closed door talking to someone on the phone about their blood pressure. I requested a refund and said I had to go. The two assistants at the check-in counter explained they would have a check mailed to me in 7-10 days. I call a week later (April 2) and am told I need to call their corporate customer service. I call the CS team (a small call center of 12 people I'm told) who implies something happened but that they'd put the check into the mail that day. 10 Calendar days later on April 12 (today) I call the same call center and spoke with Destiny who at first said I was refunded April 2. I said I have not been refunded. She "investigated further" and found that the check was put in the mail April 8 from Tennessee. I said it only takes 2-3 days for mail to arrive to Ohio from TN and it's been four days, USPS hasn't even sent me the "future scan" of upcoming envelopes indicating I'm getting any kind of check. I'm not sure why they couldn't just refund it back to my credit card...this is so shady. The system is set up so you have to continually request your check and hold people accountable to even hope to get your money back. I wrote down the name of the CS Rep and the check-number because I don't trust this operation at all.

All of which I was fine with. Then a month later I received another bill asking for more money. I called and they said they'd look into it. Then today I received a call from a collections agency.

We've been in-patient, out-patient, infusion center, bloodwork, and other regular visits and cannot say enough about the quality of care we receive. While the ER is a busy place and often a wait (due to the degree of care for each child), all other services are top notch from caregivers, nursing staff and administrators. As for billing, with significant payments made per the last two years, I've gotten to know the billing team and only had one service challenge that did resort in escalation. I will say - regardless of where you get service - audit your statements and understand your coverage, verify codes, and leverage the resources by your insurance carrier (they often have dedicated nurses for complex care offered for free). And itemize, you can write these off on taxes if they hit a certain threshold.

No Pain Relief Available for Surgeries…read more Gorgeous building, gorgeous view. Super Drs and staff. Very welcoming and quiet while we were there on a Friday. Excellent people to prep for surgery. The IV experience is much better. Child Life Specialist are helpful. Volunteers are wonderful. Very thoughtful about no food on the surgery floors. We had no experience with the blood draw at this facilitiy--only at Anschutz 18 years ago and it was awful--but if it was similar to the folks doing the IVs, I would guess it would be great. Unfortunately, it's the after care and preparation that ruins this experience and the gigantic nature of Children's Hospital Bureaucracy. Nothing like having to tell 5 different people on the phone the exact same answers to the exact same questions and answer other unrelated questions such as, do you still see this pediatrician or that one as they pass you from one operator to another only to have the nurse say she's so sorry but she can't help. Are there additional pain killers besides ibuprofen/tylenol available for children post-tonsillectomy? No. Not any more. Numbing lollipops? No. Not any more. Those aren't strong enough for the pain. Ok...sooo.... There's a steroid for 72 hrs post op. Great. Can I get that ahead of time? No. Surgery is Friday. Pick it up over the weekend. Awesome. I love running around to Walgreens on the weekend with a kid in pain at home only to find out Walgreens hasn't received the prescription yet and it's the weekend sooo no one's in the office and the on call nurse is unaware of any prescriptions and unable to send prescriptions in herself. She'll need to check in with the Dr. and now it's 1030pm on Sunday night and you still haven't heard back from them and that was 4pm. Don't blame him, the Bronco game is on right now. I've been through 5 surgeries myself. Narcotics have always been a part of the healing process for me. I don't love them, but they get me thru 2-3 hard days post op. They lift the pain slightly, put you in a somewhat better mood momentarily and then you are groggy and sleep a bit. I read that there is some risk (not sure how much as it seems these risks are sometimes overrepresented) that sometimes children can process narcotics in a way that can be poisonous to them. The report does not indicate that Oxycodone is one of those that can cause that reaction--but better to be safe. And I can understand, if you had lost a child to this, that has to be heart wrenching and you would be mad and the hospitals would be at fault. So it's litigation that's really holding us up from doing the right things. Still, educate the public and let them make the decision for their child. But withholding pain medication for tonsilectomy? I feel like if Children's led with the title "No Pain Relief Provided for Surgeries" that wouldn't get a very good rap. But that's EXACTLY what's happening. I fear this might end up sounding like a rant from a pain killer addict. But I think it's important to bring to light that kid's pain matters too. Adult pain matters as well. And I'm sorry, but while studies say that ibuprofen/tylenol is sufficient many times, and that's great, that regime isn't what I found to relieve my pain through all of my 5 surgeries in the past. Seems like the staff here is well trained in how dangerous narcotics can be, etc. but not in how to properly prescribe them in the right situations. Definitely no more hospital perks like you used to get. Send you home before your kid can barely even talk after surgery. Our daughter is a larger 12 yr old and I was worried she might fall down when she stood up because it was so soon after the surgery. That said, procedure was great, facility was great (though no free water to be found on the first floor).
