They had one teller and he was doing counter service AND drive through. He was, however, a very nice man. I appreciated his friendliness. OH - and he wasn't condescending at all at my appearance. Though I had overalls on lol and I never look very professional. I'm a bit blonde, and I didn't realize they had a parking lot. So I parked on the street right in front of the bank. But it is easy in and out. Easy to find and a good location for downtown Beaverton.

They changed their name from Umpqua to Columbia recently, look at their old scores. 1.2/5 on Trust*Pilot, an aggregate score of 1.8/5 on 145 reviews on Yelp. I've personally had to contact the VP of client relations TWICE to fix nonsense. I've had their systems overdraft my account seven different times in the last five months when I don't have overdraft protection and even their call center supervisors couldn't explain what happened (literally they didn't understand how their system allowed it) but wouldn't call it a bank error so they wouldn't reverse the fee. When I asked to have their manager call me one time, again I'm totally serious, they told me "My manager is going to tell you the same thing and they are busy." They told me that the manager would call me, of course they never did. For six months straight I signed "Mickey Mouse" on all of my withdrawals, they never caught on. Twice they would not let me take money out of my account because my license expired the previous month. Their system issues fraud locks every other week on my regular online purchases that I've made for years, often on a weekend evening where I can't get it unlocked until Monday. Tonight I changed my password and then it locked my account for changing the password. Seriously, I'm not kidding. One time when I lost my phone they wouldn't talk to me on the phone about my account for over a week unless they could send me a text code; that's not a joke either. It seriously looks like they changed their name to escape their absurdly awful reputation.

I received an email invitation they were having an hour long seminar about IRAs. I was able to leave work to attend - it was a horrible commute with Beaverton and Rain. I was there well after it started, but the lady let me in - Very Grateful, since I drove all that way. The information was great/succinct and the presenter accepted random questions throughout. They went over an hour, too, so it wasn't like we had to rush to exit. The presenter had some technical difficulties, but powered through. They provided free water and some snack bars. I didn't like the overhead muzak - I mean the tunes were good, just overhead loud. I was glad to attend the Free Seminar. I hoped to have a meeting with their Financial Advisor at a later date. Generous parking, ATMs-walk up and drive through.

I opened a Unitus account a little less than a year ago hoping to get away from big banks and…read moresupport something local. Unfortunately, I regret that decision. From the start, I've had nothing but issues with their fraud protection system. Every time I tried adding my debit card to Apple Wallet, my account froze and triggered a fraud alert. Then, after making a small purchase (under $6!) at a supermarket I visit all the time, the same thing happened again. Of course, these alerts always seemed to hit on weekends -- leaving me without access to my money until Monday. When I finally reached customer service, they offered no real help. I was told there was nothing they could do and that "Apple or the market" was causing the alerts -- which makes no sense, since I've never had this issue with any other bank. More recently, my direct deposit didn't post on the scheduled day. I went into the branch to let them know and asked that any overdraft fees be reversed since the deposit would arrive the next business day. Instead of helping, the assistant manager, Kay Birgul, was dismissive and rude. Her exact words were, "If you have more items that hit before your deposit, your employer will have to cover them." I've never requested a fee reversal before and didn't appreciate being treated like an inconvenience. To be fair, other staff at that branch have been kind and helpful in the past -- but this experience was enough to push me to close my account. I'm moving out of state soon anyway and will be switching to another bank. I'm sure there are plenty of local options with better customer service and fewer technical issues.

In this day of online banking, it's a rarity to have a personal relationship with a bank, or a…read moreteller, or even a financial advisor, really. Most people nowadays gravitate to the convenience of mobile banking and doing one's daily banking chores from home or on the go, without having to actually go in person into a branch. That said, there still are times when it really benefits a customer to physically go to a brick and mortar bank and talk in person to a real, live person. And once in a while, you HAVE to go in person to get specific tasks done. Recently, my daughter and I encountered one such task, where we HAD to go into a branch. We had made an appointment beforehand at this branch, and we were seen promptly by Dominique. She was fantastic! She helped us with our banking chores, and at one point, the bank manager came into her office to answer some questions, too. (I forget his name, but he was super nice and also very helpful). The whole experience was great: didn't take too long (about 20-30 minutes), everyone we encountered was very knowledgeable and personable, and they all did what they said they were going to do. While there, I took advantage of the moment and asked them some unrelated questions about money transfers from Canada to the USA and other matters, and Dominique gave me some great ideas, how to best accomplish these kinds of transfers and various ways to get the best deals and to avoid bank fees, both in the USA and on my end in Canada. She was really great. Between Dominique and the bank manager and another woman who also chatted with us for a bit, the folks who work at this branch while were were there were genuinely friendly and very helpful. my kid and I wouldn't hesitate to return here, should future banking issues arise.

We all have a love hate relationships with banks. So, really, what is there to say?…read more For the 10+ years I've been a customer of this bank, I've never been inclined to write a review until the boredom of this very moment struck. Should I say why I started going here? Well, it's because WF kept blocking my account, illegally, as one of the tellers told me. They'd start telling me that there's issues with my credit. I pulled strings, Gave mind, chewed ass, got no where. Finally ended up talking to loss prevention who told me he couldn't tell me what's wrong with my account because it's "personal information", apparently so personal that the person isn't allowed to it. A banker ran my credit report to come back clean as a whistle, yet they still had me blocked. So she lifted the block telling me what happened was against the law. Cool, thanks gal. Happened again 6 months later. Went back to that bank asking for her... She no longer works there... I'm no longer a customer of theirs! Haven't had an issue with BofA, in this regards since that 15 years ago. However, they are a bank and my issues have been legion. The staff here has always been as nice as they can be without actually giving me my money. They always act as sweet as they know how when they tell me I can't spend my paycheck for, up to a week sometimes, until the check clears, unless I have direct deposit. They refuse to take my jar of change and convert it to cash or deposit it into my account in the nicest way possible. Remember when your physical money was actually worth something? No more! But this isn't a paradigm that's specific to this branch. This is the world of banking today. Red tape everywhere and fewer and fewer services that don't cost you money to be poor, but they will still pay you if you are rich. Anyone else find it hilarious that when you check into a bank Yelp asks you if they accept credit cards? I giggled.
