At the YMCA Manlius location, the office is in a windowless room located directly off the gym. The YMCA has no mask requirements, but has a posted note that masks are suggested. I went recently and most of the summer program children under 12 were not wearing masks and walking around the lobby. The majority of adults were not wearing masks while working out. You need to walk through the lobby and gym to get to the room where the physical therapy takes place. The patient before me was not wearing a mask. The doctor was. When I called to see what the mask and Covid policies were at their North Syracuse location, I was told that adults who have been vaccinated need to show their vaccination card and then do not have to wear a mask. I asked if this has been updated since the Delta variant and the CDC suggestions that vaccinated adults wear masks indoor in high-transmission environments such as gyms and medical offices. It has not. The office coordinator began to speak in an angry and unprofessional manner comparing COVID to the flu when I asked her about the policies. Upon calling other local Physical Therapists, nearly all require masks for all patients and staff and enforce this. Unfortunately, I can't review their actual PT given this barrier to entry. If you are a patient with comorbities or other COVID concerns, maybe give them a call and walk through their policy updates before booking with them.

Dr. Jeffrey Byrne, DC provides outstanding care to his patients…read more I am writing on behalf of my 88 year old father, who was suffering from a mishap while getting into his truck, that threw his back out. I looked on yelp for recommendations of previous customers and suggested dad give Dr. Byrne a try, which he did, with amazing positive results. Let me tell you, the results are truly amazing. My dad is pleasant and engaging, and usually has an off-colored joke to share, but he is a bit of a grumpy old fart, pointing out everyone's shortcomings and what is wrong, but rarely gives praise. After several visits, dad is feeling much better. He had his last treatment a few days ago and is still sore, which can be expected, but has expressed he is feeling much better, and states "Dr. Byrne did a good job for me". Amazing! This is like glowing praise, for a job well done. Congrats to Dr. Byrne for a job well done. I personally have gone to another Chiropractor in the past and hated the experience. I felt like a "rice crispy" with all the snapping, cracking, and popping, with the "manipulation" the doctor performed. Dad told me he had similar experience with previous Chiropractors he had visited, years before, but this experience with Dr. Byrne was "different". Dad said that Dr. Byrne used a device that dad referred to as "a stapler like device", that the Doctor strategically used at several points on his back, that did not hurt at all, but was very quick and painless, and "did the job". I have never heard of this type of "manipulation" device, or method of treatment, but asked dad to find out, so I can locate a doctor in my area (Florida) that uses the same treatment modality. Again, with this "glowing" feedback from my dad, I highly recommend Dr. Byrne for your Chiropractic needs.
