We stopped by here last night for dinner around 7 pm. It really is like dining at someone's home kitchen! Our server was kind, she made a few suggestions. Food is Asian-local fusion. I ordered the meat Jun and furikake chicken combo plate with Mac salad which I enjoyed. However, the furikake chicken had a lot of pieces that felt like just skin or batter, only a handful of pieces that were real chunks of chicken. Mac salad was good. Meat Jun was about average. My mom had the kalbi and Korean chicken combo plate which she was not impressed with. She thinks it might've been overcooked or refried. She says she would not order again. Also should note that the seafood menu is not fresh caught, if that's what you're looking for. Otherwise, for the prices it's worth a stop!
You really feel like you are at someone's home kitchen when you are here. Definitely looks family owned. The servers daughter was so cute and stood next to her Mom as she took our order. There is outdoor and indoor seating. It wasn't packed on a Wednesday around 3 pm. I saw a few people picking up take out orders. Lot's of variety of food. My daughter got garlic salmon with rice., they used a ton of garlic. She wasn't a fan of that much garlic but I am. My husband ordered Mongolian beef. He ate it all so Must have been good. My other daughter got chicken Katsu with curry on top. Huge serving and it was delicious I got the beef chow fun. I've had better but it was pretty decent., I probably wouldn't be back and it's about 20 mins from Alii drive. Probably the cheapest meal we had though so if you are looking to feed your family for cheap come here.

There's a wide selection of Chinese food, Hawaiian plates and boba. I love meat jun (tenderized beef dipped and fried in egg batter). Only had it once at a Korean restaurant back at home. The texture was delish. Soft and tender beef. The dipping sauce was ok. Fried chicken was also crispy with a sweet sauce. Rice and Mac salad were good. Ordered passion fruit boba to go also. Wish I could go back to try more of the menu.

The service was OK, the place wasn't the cleanest, but there was ample seating both indoors and outdoors. The chicken wings appear to be double fried and are crunchy as hell, which I love, but it wasn't seasoned at all. Shot out to Sriracha for the assistance. The pork lumpia and sweet and sour sauce was fine. Spam masubi was the best from what I ordered, it was a bit heavy on the rice and easily fell apart, but the sauce and flavor were great. Char sui pork was the least liked of what I ordered. It didn't seem bad when we started, but the longer it sat at the table...we'll it didn't age well. When options in the area are limited, limit your expectations.
We had the mango and piña colada boba which was great. Ordered the cold ginger chicken which was good, Mongolian beef, decent but not spicy at all, salt n pepper pork ribs was a disappointment as that was the main dish I wanted. No flavor at all. Their house fried rice was not bad. Overall, I would eat here again, but nothing fried. The service was good. The waitress was friendly and helpful.

Carry out on New Years day ! Thankfully open on the holiday and doing g a great take away business. The green beans with pork was delicious but beans very soft, the Beef and Broccoli as well as Orange Chicken was legit! The star of the show was the roast pork belly. Get some mustard sauce for the pork but it's sweetly scented even plain.

We enjoyed their dishes so much we came back 2x! Parking: They have a small parking lot. Finding a spot can either be a hit or miss. We visited around 6pm on a weekday, and it was fairly easy. Free parking. Ambiance/Environment: This spot is located upstairs. They have a large space with plenty of indoor seating and limited outdoor seating. It was fairly clean inside. It gave more of a traditional Chinese setting. Service: There was only one server, and we forgot to ask for her name. She was quick and efficient. Throughput took under 10 minutes after ordering. They do speak broken English. Food: Portions are LARGE, so come with a big appetite! They have a large menu filled with traditional Chinese dishes and more. We ordered a lot of food, and as hungry as we were, we even had leftovers. I ordered the Shrimp Fried Rice, Crab Rangoon, Honey Walnut Shrimp, and Jasmine Green Milk Tea. The fried rice was cooked and seasoned well. The Crab Rangoon was the perfect appetizer. It was crunchy and had a good amount of cream cheese filling. The Honey Walnut Shrimp was sweet and not too citrusy. It paired perfectly with the fried rice. The Jasmine Green Milk Tea was basic and satisfied my boba craving. We visited again the day before we departed. I wanted to try something completely different, so I ordered the Chicken Katsu Burger w/ Garlic Cheese Fries. The burger was very basic and decent especially for its price. The fries were definitely garlicy, but I'd prefer the cheese to be more melted. Pricing: We thought it was definitely worth its price! Portions were large, so almost everything was shareable. Highly recommend for traditional Chinese dishes and other options!
Food was delicious and good service. The rice was perfect. Good loco moco and gravy pork roast special. Enjoyed eating out on the balcony.

Holy smokes, this Chinese restaurant is legit! We attended a funeral and came here with a large group as they catered us buffet style. Everything was delicious! Better than a lot of the take out spots on Oahu! I was shocked on how good it was. Great flavor, authentic, fresh and enough seasoning. It's not overpowering where a lot of Chinese slots could get. Even had their smoothies and it was delicious! Will come back when we're in Kona! read more
My friend and I found this spot since it was one of the few still open later. As we were here near closing, they only had take out options. The restaurant is relatively spacious. The food here is affordable and the portions are great! I got the furikake chicken bowl, which was around $10. They really load it up with chicken and rice. I didn't taste a lot of furikake in my chicken, but it was still good overall. The plaza has lots of parking and the service was quick. If you are in the area, I recommend stopping by. read more
This place was delicious. The portions were very generous. We came here after doing a chocolate tour. The service was good. The bathroom was outside of the restaurant . Parking was no issue. There was a parking lot. I had the loco loco mini meal and thought it was very good and authentic. The mini was enough for me . read more

As my go to restaurant while traveling to Kona and staying at Kona Coast Resort, I visited my favorite restaurant and ordered my House Fried Rice and a Mixed Chinese vegetable entree. While waiting I ordered my Boba drink which was mango slushy and it was refreshing and pleasant to drink while waiting. I also ordered my dim sum special of sesame balls that became my dessert. In San Francisco, I consider myself a dim sum expert especially sesame balls (sweet potato rolled covered with sesame seeds and deep fried to a crunchy taste). Throughout the years, this restaurant is my main staples of Chinese food in Kealakekua. read more
Delicious food in a local feeling location. When we walked in they asked if it was dine in or to go. We were dining in. The tables are spread out quite a bit as if they are following social distance protocols. The menu is extensive and hits on several different types of cuisine including a full breakfast menu, lunch specials, and dinner. There is a mix of authentic Chinese dishes as well as American versions. There really is so much to choose from. I opted for the veggie soup and the Singapore noodles with shrimp and extra spicy. The soup was served in a large bowl. It was loaded with tofu, egg, carrots, peas, celery, mushrooms and baby corn. It had an excellent flavor and thick consistency. It could have easily been split between two people. The Singapore noodles were fantastic! HUGE portions and perfectly seasoned. It was almost more than I could finish. I would order this over and over again if I was local. I asked for it to be extra spicy but it was not too hot. Service was fine and the place was clean. Park in the back lot. The food is so good. Healthy portions, tasty food and the Mac salad is pretty good too. My family enjoyed it. It was our first time here and was referred by another family member. Ordered a few plates brought home and fed seven kids and four adults. My goodness. read more
Was looking for a restaurant that open late as my friends and I were heading back from the Volcanos National Park. We settle on Ono Kitchen and couldn't be happier. Authentic Chinese food with big portions and so affordable. We ordered 3 dishes and it came to about $39. All our dishes were fresh, delicious and came to our table piping hot. We were informed we could eat inside the restaurant but the food would be served in takeout containers. We had The House Fried Rice, Green Beans with Pork and Fried Ginger & Green Onion Chicken. Their food is just as good as the many Chinese restaurants in Vancouver/Richmond. Upon leaving, we thanked the friendly and helpful lady who took our order at the front counter. We told her to give our thanks to the chef. We have enough left overs for lunch the next day. read more

When we give 5 stars we mean it! On the search for food all of us could have with food aversions. This place was perfect and adorable! The food portions are huge and easily shareable with another person. We enjoyed all the fish, chicken, rice and especially the macaroni salad! So good!! We had enough food to bring back to the house and snack on for another meal as well. Happy tummies and happy wallet! Staff super friendly. read more

We stayed on Keauhou Bay, a total food desert, and cruised the highway in search of good food. After finding some good places in Kailua-Kona, we ventured south in search of good food... and guess what?? -- we found good food at Ono Home Kitchen. Granted we missed the small sign and Google Maps led us into a coffee plantation on a very bumpy road first! I love Hawaiian/Asian food, my wife is vegetarian, and my kids like simple, common American food. Amazingly, we found it all here. The menu is impressive. It's located in a very quiet strip mall, not far from a trendy candy store that sells chocolate covered macadamia "balls." We ordered by phone and our food was piping hot and neatly packed. The clerk was very courteous and the restaurant was simple but clean. I loved the parquet wood floors. Not a bad view either. Next time we'll dine in. My kids had burgers and fries, my wife had kung pao tofu and hot and sour soup (n.b. it did have slices of spam inside), and I had the bbq mix. We also ordered shrimp fried rice. Everyone ate well and it was shockingly cheap. A winner! read more

This restaurant offers a good variety of food. OD not your standard Chinese food place. I sold that it is more authentic. The serving sizes were good as of course the taste was great. We found this place on our way back from the black sand beach. Definitely worth a stop here for lunch. read more

While driving towards Milolii to meet up with friends I stopped by the Ono Home Kitchen to pick up some takeout to bring to our friend's home. We walked in and there were no other customers there so I thought it would be quick because on Oahu Chinese restaurants are amazingly fast. I ordered a dry noodle with char siu and a takeout of roast pork. It took 15 minutes, which is pretty slow on Oahu when you are the only customer. We ate lunch about an hour and a half later. The roast pork kind of steamed in the container so we lost out on the crispy skin which was our fault for leaving the container closed. But, while the flavor was OK, the pork was a little on the dry side. The noodles were excellent. Next time I might stop by again just for these noodles. Perfectly fried and the texture of the noodles were just right even after sitting there for a while. read more
You definitely get a bang for your buck here. Prices are definitely a plus. More than generous portions. Their furikake chicken was amazing. Crunchy and flavorful. Did I mention all the portions are HUGE! If you're in need for some quick Asian food, this should be a good option. Your typical mom and pop looking restaurant. The ladies behind the register were very nice and made sure we had every sauce we wanted or needed. For to-go, our food managed to be still just as delicious when we got to our hotel to eat. read more
This place seems to be a fusion of Chinese and Hawaiian. Mostly. The menu is very extensive, and emphasizes a lot of Chinese flavors. The sign is not really obvious, but there is a sign visible from the road. Use google navigation, and park in the back. It's a tiny lot. We ordered the Loco Moco mix with pork katsu, the BBQ chicken saimin, the beef jun and furikake chicken, and the stir fry vegetable. The saimin is basically a soup. Noodle soup with BBQ chicken. It was tasty. Noodles were not mushy. Firm, yet yielding. The beef jun and furikake chicken were both very nice. Didn't blow my socks off, but the flavors were there. There was a soy sauce dip of some sort that added a bit of flavor. I agree with Ori (from the Hobbit): I don't like green food. Stir fry vegetables is mostly green food. I had some because it's good for me. Seemed like a pretty standard stir fry of vegetables. Nothing special. My wife agreed that it was good, but not great (she likes green food). The loco moco with pork katsu mix was tasty as well. Not fantastic, but tasty. Everything was properly cooked, but bland. They gave a dipping sauce for the katsu that helped it a lot. The gravy for the loco moco was only average compared to other loco mocos I have had. Overall, a perfectly adequate meal. Good-sized portions; we had to take some of it home. My family flew in to Kona with a hungry stomach ready to eat local! It was great that Ono had so many photos of their dishes too! They also had milk tea options which was refreshing as we were adjusting to Hawaii's humidity Servings were generous and the price is very reasonable as most dishes are between $12-$20. Everything I tried was so good. read more
