I'm from Minnesota, but flew to Seattle to re-take a Forex class. OTA allows free retakes of classes, which is a great deal, and really helps you keep up on your education. An instructor I had heard great things about was teaching in Seattle, so I decided to retake there. The Seattle center is a warm, friendly place, with the usual endless coffee, lunch, and snacks. The classroom has the modern technology that you need as a trader. Everything about this trip was great, other than the clouds constantly obscuring the mountains.... I have been trading for about a year now using OTA's strategies, and they really do work. To succeed, you need a good trading plan, and weeks or months of practice. The cost of OTA classes seems high to some people, but you are really paying for the equivalent of a college degree in a new career. Some people end up trading full-time, which really means 10-20 hours a week, or just doing this to improve their portfolio performance. Like any other career, what you achieve is a reflection of what you invest. I'm very glad I decided to hook up with OTA when I did. It has changed my life. read more

As an instructor for Online Trading Academy, the Seattle (Bellevue) campus is a very special place. We just finished a Core Strategy class last week in this center. The class was very well prepared by their dedicated Student Support Specialist, Franklin. I have instructed well over 100 classes in this course, and the students in this class were very motivated to learn, and some of the friendliest people, just like all Seattle classes... E-mails were sent before the start of class to lead students through the pre-class preparations, and it showed once class began. Everyone in this center puts the students needs first and foremost, and it shows. The students realize that there is a lot of hard work involved in learning the mechanics of the markets and that to truly be successful in the financial markets Risk Management needs to be at the top of the priority list. The company could be named "The Online Risk Management and Probability Academy" because that's what is taught in great detail from the very first hour of class. A good example of the focus on student learning is the commitment of the owner. After some internet and computer challenges during class, the center has committed to repairing the network and purchasing new computers for student use! How awesome is this? The campus is located in a quiet professional complex, with a stream and wildlife on all side for peaceful walks during lunch..... which they provide every day! They have my 88 year old veteran involved, doesn't seem like they have actually done anything and seem to have treated him like he opened a credit card. I have evidence he gave them a lump sum but have things that look like bills wanting him to pay something every month. I have written to them at two different addresses and both letters have been returned. I think it is a scam, likely a pyramid scheme. read more

Just took my Forex trading class. This was an amazing class! I currently trade Futures and Options. Now I am looking forward to adding Forex to my tool belt. If you believe what they're telling you in the free class, after going through their program, you'll know when the market is going to crash, you'll know which stocks are going to triple overnight, and you'll know when and why to sell when others are doing just the opposite. There were two speakers at this "class" and...I'm not trying to be mean but...if they've been as successful as they told me I would be, they wouldn't be wearing JCPenney clothes and/or shirts with sleeves that are too short. Just finished the classes I paid for, including Pro Trader 1&2, Professional Futures Trader, and Professional Forex trader. I heard about the academy on the radio and took a free introductory evening session earlier this year, followed by a three day weekend for a nominal fee, and realized that trading is what I want to do for the rest of my life, in addition to my "day job" for now, and then continuing into retirement down the road. Did the classes prepare me for this goal? I'm off the Launchpad and cautiously trading using the risk management skills I learned, starting with single futures contracts, and planning on micro lots of currency pairs once my account is funded at my Forex brokerage in a couple of weeks. We traded with the company's money during class for a couple of days, but what a rush the first time you put your own money on the line (with an appropriate stop loss of course, to prevent big losses). There are free class retakes for life which is a very good thing...but one of the most valuable things for me is the lifetime access to the XLT (extended learning track) classes, which are two hour long recorded or live online sessions conducted by pro traders on a lot of subjects. These sessions are constantly generated such that I pick and choose the ones that are most valuable since I can't keep up with the flow of info. XLT is at my fingertips at all times, in addition to "Hour with the Pros" and other online resources. And an educational counselor is a phone call away. I thankfully had enough vacation time to take all my on-site classes in the first half of this year, and I gotta tell you that they are a hoot, taught by a delightful rogue's gallery of professional traders with extensive experience, who are not inhibited at all about sharing information from their trading experience, even if it occasionally drifts away from the school's basic strategy. But, in my opinion, that's what you want: reliable core strategy salted with experience. There are cheaper ways to learn trading, but I haven't pursued any of them since I took a casual interest in the matter years ago...now that I dug into my credit cards, I am invested in this experience, which is the motivator I lacked in the past! Be prepared to give it 100% in terms of studying and taking advantage of learning resources...I would caution anyone who thinks they can throw money at this and get rich without much effort...but if you are reasonably self motivated, the school will get you going in the right direction. Rude staff .not a clear picture of there trading program. They offer free 1st day and there gets extremely unclear what next step is . They run those "free" first class daily but there numbers start to jump. They put prices like 10000-20000 $ for trading without telling anything about there trading(like number of hours etc) Seems like they just looking for people with bunch of cash to jump on it. read more

Basically their scammers. They promise how easy it will and don't deliver, other then taking lots of your money. Not thousands but twenty thousand dollars. Oh they also provide high rate financing, incase you don't have the cash. Very little support. After taking one of the week long classes (taking time off work since they don't have night classes), I realized this was not going to work. I met with them and asked to get out of the contract and refund what I haven't taken. They told me the money was gone. Don't be pressured by their high pressure sales. After the free 3 hour class I was excited to learn more. They said somebody would call me. After a couple days when nobody had called me I called them and left a message that I was very interested! I'm very disappointed to say that nobody bothered to call me. I guess they don't want my business. They lost a potential customer! read more

I attended the free one day class. The staff were polite. Some new info for me. free snacks. it all went well, i enjoyed it. No "high preassure sale tactics". some sale technics, of course, or you people think everything would be free nowadays especially and nobody would try to sell you anything, they just happy to see your ugly faces there:)). its there job for which they get paid with money that they pay their bills with...jeez...i read some annoying comments, so many whiny people nowadays complaining about everything around them... the only thing i wish there was more clarity on how much it would cost. but as we were explained there's no such thing as everything's the same for every other person. and you have to take 3 day classes in order to figure out what program suits better for you and thats when the price would be determined. its ok i get it. that 3 days class from 9-5. so you need some time to invest in it and some money... 299$, which is refundable if you think this is something that is not for you. other than that for 1 free class i give 5 stars. read more

I previously had posted regarding Online Trading Academy in Seattle/Bellevue. The parent company seems very credible and the training I received was top notch--SALES TRAINING, not really much about the actual product. I cannot speak for other OTA franchises, but the local one is not one you want to be involved with. The free training is an entree into very high pressure sales. read more

Called this site and immediately began to ask questions. However the person on the line seemed aggravated by inquiries. I was seeking information about how much profit can one expect to make under the Mini's, etc. The person ended up telling me he does not think this would be good for me. Since that time, I have moved on, gotten with another training group in the area that was more than willing to show me how to make profit and not be so damn NW timid. I doubt I would have to ask too many questions about profit, startup, etc.,if I were in Chicago, NYC or a true metropolitan city. I will not recommend any OTA as the more I speak with others, the more I am advised from others to stay away from them. read more

I got tired of losing money and being taken advantage of by "Investment Advisors" whom place more importance on making themselves money instead of their clients. I started taking classes offered at Online Trading Academy. As a result I have more than covered the cost of training by not only investments that I've made but also by getting out of investments that I previously had, taking my profits before the stocks dropped significantly. OTA Instructors are knowledgeable and patient teachers of investing concepts. They rely on their experience as traders themselves and some actually have decades of experience working on exchange trading floors. To be noted if you didn't get something during the training or you need a refresher course; retakes are free for life.
