I am writing this review to warn other customers about my experience at Toyota of Renton…read more I went to Toyota of Renton for a routine visit, and during that time they told me they tested my car battery and said it was failing and needed immediate replacement. Based on their diagnosis, I was advised that the battery was at risk and should be replaced. Trusting their professional opinion, I immediately went to Costco and purchased a new battery. Since my original battery was still under warranty, I returned it to Costco for a refund. However, Costco tested my old battery in front of me, and the results showed the battery was in good condition. They tested it two more times, and all results confirmed the battery was good. To be absolutely sure, I also took the battery to a separate independent repair shop, and again, the battery tested normal with no issues. I later returned to Toyota of Renton to speak with the service manager. The only response I received was a printed battery test result from them. There was no explanation, no accountability, and no resolution, despite clear evidence from multiple independent tests showing the battery was fine. I have kept all printed test reports as documentation, which clearly show conflicting results between Toyota of Renton and multiple other professional testers. This experience caused me unnecessary stress and wasted time, and it seriously damaged my trust in this dealership's service department. I strongly advise other customers to be cautious and seek a second opinion before approving any repairs or replacements here. I will not return to Toyota of Renton in the future.

Do not waste your time with these outrageous prices. I'm always sketched out about dealerships other than corporate locations and this just confirms my fears. I have spent the last three days trying to call for help, but I am being completely ghosted with zero callbacks. They only care about making a sale and taking your money. Otherwise, we were able to test drive 4Runners and Tacomas and I learned a ton about Toyota's the day that I visited. Evan was extremely knowledgeable about the different generations and capabilities they had and Evan being a Seattleite, knew what driving a Tacoma or 4Runner would be like in the city because he owned one, it wasn't just word vomit to be more agreeable with me. Instead of doing this crazy test drive, we parallel parked the Tacoma outside the dealership, we reversed into a parking spot, and we even focused on the turn radius like I'd experience in a Seattle parking garage, we almost took it to my apartment complex to check garage door heights to see if it would actually fit in my apartment complex, but phoned ahead and my apartment manager let me know it was a no-go for that specific 4Runner. Evan and I literally tested the exact things you need to check out when you live in Seattle and management was 100% okay with doing this odd check I had requested like taking it to my apartment complex.
