My daughter loved the kids area and the scavenger hunt, we roamed the rest just to see it and it's truly stunning with the giant windows. The librarians were helpful with the scavenger hunt clues and we really enjoyed our visit here. I did see they have a dvd player for rent if anyone is looking... :)

Boy, was I surprised. First thing I saw was a room equipped with (fairly new) computers, printers, and projector screen. The whole building had a very sleek and modern feel. The children's room was massive and really colorful-- there are toys and lots of space to read/play. There was a massive magazine room with a large selection. Downstairs there were more computers, along with large fiction and nonfiction sections. The shelves were organized and clearly labeled, which made them super easy to navigate. One of the books I was looking for was listed as in stock but not on the shelf-- when I mentioned this to the librarian during checkout, she checked the returns for me, and found it. Really impressed with this library. Wish it wasn't so much of a drive for me, because honestly, I'd be here all the time. What a great resource.

This location takes advantage of being in an old Stickley building and the library rooms sprawl throughout the building and include a children's area, study rooms, public reading and work areas where they sometimes host events, and maker labs. They have a huge selection of books, music, and other media here. The whole children wing is a big hit for my toddler and I love watching her interact with the other kids here. I consider this my "home" library even though I'm not a Fayetteville resident. That should tell you something about how its patrons are treated!

Of course you can borrow books, but they also have a movie and cd lending program. Tons of computers with free internet access! The reason we love to come to this library is the children's area. There is so much fun for FREE at the library! The librarians are super helpful and there's even a security guard at the entrance which makes us feel safer. Bottom line, the library is not boring it's fun and cool and your kids will love it! Did I mention it's free?

Staff seemed very friendly and helpful. Didn't do a lot of exploration of the building but it had several floors each with numerous public use computers available.

The first thing I like about this library is the system they have worked out to let you know how quiet a section is supposed to be. Anywhere from social, to silent, you'll see signs posted around the library letting you know the appropriate sound level. Cuts out the ambiguity. There is also ample space allotted for each. I will say that parts of the library is open to the public, given that Upstate is a SUNY school. I personally think it's great to have it available as a resource to the community. But keep in mind that not everyone is a student when leaving stuff laying around. The student computer lab has both Mac's and PCs. The Mac's in particular are new, 27 inch iMACs. Pretty nice if you want to watch lectures or if like me, you consistently have a thousand windows open at a time. The hours are one thing I think could be improved upon. Upstate is the first school I've gone to that doesn't have a dedicated 24 hour library space. It closes at midnight during the week, which suffices most of the time. But on the weekends, they don't open until ten. Fairly inconvenient. Anyway, of the libraries I've studied at, this one is pretty nice. Clean with a super helpful staff. Outside of the occasionally slow WiFi, I don't have any major complaints.

To get in, you pick up a phone at the front door and get permission to enter. The quiet study lounge on the 3rd floor is only accessible to those with badge access. This library has 4 floors (if you include the basement floor, which I have not seen yet). The first floor has computers, puzzles you can play, and plenty of group desks. You are allowed to eat there as well. The 2nd floor has a lounge area that requires badge access. Parking can be tricky because this place is next door to a children's hospital where it is pretty busy. There is street parking but you're only allowed 2 hours of parking if it's before 6PM. The 3rd floor is a decent place to study because there are plenty of outlets, window seats and cubicle style desks with large countertops.

The Galleries houses many businesses, the biggest one being TGI player, it also houses the city…read morelibrary, congressman Katko, and a mediocre café The lobby runs all the way from Warren Street to Salina Street which causes a lot of through traffic because of people cutting through Also the demonstrators that protest Congressman Katko tend to hang out in the lobby a lot (despite their claim that they "brave the weather" to protest) They had to take the doors to the library away in the lobby so that you have to go outside to get in the library because homeless people etc. we're hanging out in the lobby and by taking the doors out it helped, they also had to take away the public bathrooms because the homeless were bathing in them The roof leaks a little bit not unreasonably otherwise the place is kept up pretty well and clean If you buy food at the café you've got a 50-50 chance in my experience of getting good food, I don't bother taking the risk anymore. Their coffee is usually OK though
