When my nursing friends and I studied together we studied in the conference room here. It's always quiet and comfortable. The staff here is super nice. One of the woman that works at the front desk helped me fax my resume over to a job I was applying to. They have lots of computers you can sign into. My favorite spot are the couches by the huge bay windows in the middle of the library over looking the field. It's a beautiful place to read and relax! They also have a kids only room with tables, chairs, and tons of children's books. They also have a free kids movie night. You can look up all of the events happening at the library on their website! If you walk into the library from the side entrance the bathrooms are on the right hand side and just after the bathrooms there's a room called the "book nook" full of donated books & DVDs you can purchase for 50 cents to $1. Theres always art hanging in the hallway that the kids create. I absolutely love it!!! All the locals should really take advantage of our library. It's a great place and fun events for the kids are always going on here!

There's a lot of events, like the indigenous craft festival, that happens at the Fort or on the outer grounds. It's truly worth a trip for a history buff or anyone looking to learn about the past.

Then we went into the wooden fort which has many rooms that you can go into. All the staff members we interacted with were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

Scheduled an appointment for my son to replace a lost license and a change of address. DMV was not crowed but he was not called up to window until a half hour after appointment. Process request and change of address went quick though.... he still had to go to another window to pay. You would think it would go quick but you would be wrong. He stood at window for over 45 minutes at window to pay as they were having system issues with collecting payment after recent system changes. Earlier this month the DMV and their website were closed for almost a week to convert to a new system. Hold up seemed to be with paying for requested DMV services. Watched several people at the window to pay run into same issues especially if an address change was involved. One woman had to repeatedly get her photo taken as it was not transitioning over felt bad for her as I know how that is and what I hate the most as you wanted a cute or as cute as possible ID photo as you are stuck with that photo for several years. You would think that the state would get money collection right knowing how bad they want our dollars. But I guess they are still collecting them they are just making you wait. In all this was far from the 10 minute processing time indicating on the website. For us this was a little over 2 hour process from start to finish. This location is a smaller location than others in our county but when it works it tends to be an easy place to get through with an appointment. Can only imagine how long the wait would have been at a larger office like the Utica DMV. Also, if you are mobility challenged this can be a tough location to navigate especially if the lift is not working as this office is located on the second floor. Staff here when not frustrated with the system not working are friendly and helpful but you could tell it had been a tough week or so for them. So be kind if you hit the DMV in the next week or two or better yet I would hold off on that visit for a few weeks if possible. Tip: When you get a license or don't have a photo of license take a photo of BOTH the front and back as you can process alot of things online but you have to have numbers from back of license as well. Also, NY has an app (mid app)that you can load your license to which converts to a QR code that can be used at most Airports at TSA (except Watertown) and by law enforcement if you lose license or forget your license in another purse.

The NY State DMV system overall is a dystopian nightmare, red tape that will financially strangle you. I could go on and on about that, but we're just talking about this office, so. They decorate their cubicles and often have nameplates with disney character on them. Hey, look. Y'all work at the DMV. Any drop of joy you can find to drink out of life? Go for it. I found that I was seen pretty quickly, which was nice. My registration and new plates cost me $104, which they said was normal. $79 for the registration. They didn't really explain to me, when I first came here to register my out of state salvage title, that I would have to come back again to register after getting a salvage inspection- I thought the $205 I paid for that was everything, but it was not. Eventually I went back to them, and was able to get my plates and registration at once, since I had a NY State salvage title. Yay! They didn't mention that I had to get an inspection as well, something you do before you get your registration, in California, and maybe that's the case here when the car isn't newly registered for the first time? I did find a little piece of paper that mentioned I had a 10 day "grace period" to get an inspection. A different inspection from the salvage title inspection, which I guess couldn't have also inspected my tires and stuff while they were there. Because NY State. Anyway, glad I caught that, because nobody told me I had to do it! Still listing this as "good" because I didn't spend 6 hours waiting with hundreds of people wetly coughing and reeking of dirty diapers and unwashed bodies while my will to live was slowly leached away. So, there's that.
