Out along Spadina each direction, north and south, and over to the older Chinatown to the east toward George Brown's heritage house. (love the homes around here) Very impressive! The entrance and lobby area are bright and welcoming and lead you into the beautiful vaulted main room with a stage at the east end. Some showers have been broken for years (like the handheld one). I can only talk for the staff in the women's only hours of Sundays. They open late, they claim not having "enough staff" to man the different pool areas, when you can see up to four or five people hanging out at the office area of the pool on their phones or eating. How much of a break they need if they only work for 1 hr 45 mins? None of them look athletic or like they even know how to swim. They are always eating. If it is a long weekend they kick us out early, with the excuse of "it's a long weekend and people need to be with their families", one day they kicked us out with no excuse only vaguely alleging "it's a fire hazard" and they were expecting us to go outside in our bathing suits and "wait there", many women refused and one said "I'm getting my stuff, call the cops if you want". The level of the staff is downright horrible, they are useless and talk down to the people as if they were simple. That is a community center, not jail or the military, they are not "in charge of us", they work there and we pay with our taxes. They should start charging a small fee for people to attend and make these clowns accountable, they are there to work, not to be on the phone and eat and yell at each other and people attending

The first floor does have an exhibition room that we could learn some Japanese Canadian history. We actually wanted to try the restaurant next door as well, but they were not open for public, and only by reservations. Someone recommended to go for an event next time. There would be more to see. You can use stairs or an elevator. The entire place is extremely modern. They have touch panels for temperature control and AV control. There many equipment, including several large screen TVs on a movable pedestal. They even have garbage cans that open by waving your hand in front of a sensor! Their website is easy to navigate, and you can register for classes there. On Mon to Sat, they have programs for babies, toddlers, kids, adults, and seniors. For kids, there are classes in science, cooking, art, and music. For adults & seniors, there are classes in art, cooking, fitness, and music. Some of the classes have been adapted for special needs kids and their caregivers. The community centre opens the space for Autism Ontario on a Sun, provides the cookies, coffee, tea, and a receptionist, all for free! My son was here to play chess against other children. Luckily, he found someone who was almost equal to his skill level, so he definitely enjoyed his two hours there. During the summer, they also hold summer camps. There is free WiFi. Upon entry to the large open space, I found the appropriate floor and went searching for my meeting room. As I passed meeting after meeting that was being held that night, it became very apparent that Metro Hall has the ability to afford virtually any shape and size of meeting. Facilities are brightly lit, spacious, clean, and given the frugal nature of the organization I was in, affordable. Metro Hall provides much in its location and facilities, and also has a large outside courtyard which is also a good place to sit down, relax, grab a snack or a coffee, and gear up for any meeting that you may have inside.

They didn't allow us to to play And then they said that we have to register into the system like I'm not going back to this place ever again neither am I going to any community centre like here's the thing I want to go play volleyball but here's the thing that's the only thing they don't allow terrible experience if I could give a zero star I would.

I haven't been to many art galleries previously but this one is pretty well done…read more It is very close to or part of Regent Park and is one of the ways that the area is experiencing a rejuvenation. The exterior is very modern as well as the inside. The layout on the main floor includes a food counter and there are three floors that are dedicated to the arts. I was there for Black Future Month and mainly to see my friend's "Building Black" exhibit which featured the amazing work he created using only LEGO. His work took up a wing on the first floor and it was very well lit to bring out the best in each piece. The main floor also had some rooms and theatres to accommodate other forms of art. The second floor was dedicated mainly to painting and photography and there were private rooms where the artists could do their work. All in all, it was an excellent space to give to the community and to raise their interest in the arts.
