I was charged for "additional bags" of trash without being informed beforehand. The driver took the extra items directly from my hands and never mentioned there would be an added fee. Later, the company claimed my bin was overflowing, which is not true and is clearly shown in my video. I've never been charged for this before, so the sudden fee felt misleading and unfair. Transparency and communication are seriously lacking. I would not recommend this service. Also, educate your drivers not to take anything directly from clients without informing them about a surprise charge. read more

Over the last few years, the service has become very unreliable, often not picking up when scheduled and offering a variety of excuses when I call to find out what happened, with the most popular being mechanical failure and 'substitute driver didn't know the route'. Loving outside of Longmont city limits, my house is not covered by the city's pickup services, so I used One Way for just over six months. I can't say I would make that same mistake again. I had multiple times where I witnessed the crew throw away cardboard in the trash rather than put it in the recycling section of the truck. The first time, I was assured it must have been an accident, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. When it happened again, I immediately contacted them to complain. At first, they claimed that the boxes were not broken down and therefore HAD to be thrown away. I had personally broken the boxes down myself not twenty minutes before they arrived, so I knew that was not true. They then claimed it was because the boxes were too large, even though several of them were less that a foot in each direction. They apologized and said that likely the driver just saw the big box and put the entire stack in trash without thinking, and asked that I start cutting up any boxes larger than about 8x8x8 into that size. That seems like a lot more work than I've ever had to do for a trash company before, but fine. I never got an apology for the driver straight up lying about his reasoning for throwing things away at first, but oh well. I started cutting up boxes and was extra diligent with our recycling. Then I got a phone call about "non-compactible material" being in our garbage. I had thrown away a rotted out old lawn ornament left here by the previous owners, and was asked to not throw such things away, as they take up room in the truck and cannot be compacted so they need a special disposal process. No idea what I'm supposed to do with such items that ned throwing out, but I guess that's not their problem. Then I got another phone call about car parts in the trash. My husband does a lot of work on cars, and had thrown away a clutch and some other smaller pieces that had been replaced. Those are also considered non-compactible and cannot be thrown away. I asked what I was supposed to do with them instead, and she suggested that I call an auto parts store and asked them. I called at her suggestion, and the store had never heard of such a thing. This was the last straw for us and we cancelled our service immediately after. To make a long story short, One Way is fine for picking up your trash and recycling, but they seem to try their hardest to make sure you don't actually use their services at all. They were reliable and we never missed a pick up, and the weekly recycling was very nice, but when I can't trust that my recyclables are actually ending up in the right part of the truck because apparently it's too hard to separate out the single item that "had" to be thrown out, and I'm getting regular phone calls from them telling me there's more stuff I'm not allowed to throw away, I just can't support them. You're paying to throw away 64 gallons of trash every week, and yet you aren't actually allowed to occupy that much space. No thank you. I'll stick with Western instead. read more

We have used One Way for years because we like supporting a smaller business. We are patient when there is no email that the truck won't be coming trash day for whatever reason. Over the last couple of months my neighbors and I have noticed that the recycling is being thrown in with the garbage!!! Not only are we paying separately for recycle but ethically it is horrible! When we have called to say we are concerned we have been responded to by "LISA" who is incredibly rude and angry and her response is, "So what do you want me to do???? Cancel your service????" Upon which she hung up! Customer service? Concern? Listening to the problem? NONE! All of this neighborhood is DONE with One Way!!! read more

If you have another option for your trash removal, use it. It's pretty obvious from the variety of other poor reviews that this company doesn't really care what their reputation is. One thing to keep in mind if you have to use them. Keep anything you don't want thrown away miles away from the pick up site. And if you do have something that might look like trash, keep a camera handy for "evidence" that something was taken that shouldn't have been. We are out over $100 for chicken feed that was taken with our trash and they denied any wrong doing since there wasn't "evidence." I applied to this company at one point. I went on military orders. The owner called me numerous times about when I was coming back, every time I told them I was coming back the military switched my orders again. That is the military for you. They tell you one thing and they do another. I kept in contact with the OWNER. Yes, there were times I would tell them I would be able to start on a certain date. The military kept on switching my dates because they couldn't make up their mind. The owner even offered me a higher pay. I was going to take the job once I came back to Colorado, I have no say so when it comes to the military messing with my orders. The owners are very nice. The area I was located there was no service barely, I did not have a computer to use. I can't keep up with the communication. Shelby Hankins/Manager sent me a message back stating: We need candidates that are dependable and show up for their first day. Constant communication is necessary if you are not able to come in. I am confused how I didn't have constant communication, when I answered the phone every time the OWNER called me. I would have loved to work for the company. I do not feel guilty for writing this. I will not have someone say I don't have good communication or not reliable. Any job I have worked for will tell you: I am a hard worker, I am dedicated, I go above and beyond, great communication, great leadership, and reliable. read more

One Way has a discounted agreement with the neighborhood in which we live, which is extremely lower than any other service, so we're stuck unless we want to pay out a lot more for a different company. Trash service is great, and earns the only star. The recycle is another story. The driver, in six months, has angrily come to our door multiple times, using profanity, when ANY item that doesn't qualify as recycle gets in there. Yes, they open and go through the bags individually as they pick them up. We have a lot of kids, and sometimes trash accidentally gets put in the recycle, which I understand needs to be kept out of recycle. But this clown a month ago left a wide open bag he'd thoroughly gone through on top of the closed can, and the debris blew out all over our driveway. They left our can untouched and full this week, because one of my teens accidentally put a bag of what's trash, not recycle, on top. Our fault, but still, where's the friendly customer service? Instead of setting that bag aside or in the regular trash can sitting right next to it, the driver berated my wife at the door, and left the entire can. I called, and their policies back him up completely. If I want it picked up with that bag taken out, there's an extra fee. If I have extra next week due to two week's worth of recycle, there's an extra fee. If you choose to use this disposal service, be prepared to deal with those aspects of the recycle service, and how they approach it, and God help you if you're on the route of this angry, irreverent dude. read more

From the amazing staff, very friendly, to very low prices, to my FAV they put your cans back up to the house for you!, to today...we get an email AND a phone call that there were issue with their trash truck and is Sat. ok for pickup? Seems sort of weird writing a review of a trash service, but since there are options in the trash removal world, thought I would put this out there. We have been using them for a while now, after they took over our previous trash companies route. They take all that we leave, they always seem friendly if I am ever there when they are, and they bring the trash and recycle bins back up to your house so they aren't out by the street. They are also fairly reasonably priced, they are slightly more than the people they took over, but it still seems fair. read more

Super unhappy overall but limited choices for trash removal where I live. Two stars only because I can see how hard the drivers work. Otherwise, the office staff deserves negative stars. I never get my bill unless I call to ask where it is. If they do send one out, it has a post mark for the day before it's due. Their excuse is that there is a 15 day grace period and no late fees until the following month. Today is August 5th and they say it was mailed on July 29th but I still don't have it! I have been a customer with OneWay Trash for five years, have always paid my bill on time, have never had any trouble. Even during the flood of 2013 when roads were washed out for months OneWay WAS reliable. Due to a change in circumstances, I had to cancel my trash service and am STILL waiting for a refund from my account after NINE weeks. Despite calling multiple times, I am given ZERO customer service, told that "Landa", the stated office manager and accounts payable clerk, are "just so busy" and that she "is working on this" and that "they recently had an entire subdivision cancel their service" (This is the first red flag. Why?), and I STILL DON'T HAVE MY REFUND. Ask yourself, what would be the first thing OneWay would do if anyone paid their bill over TWO MONTHS LATE??? Hmm....what does this tell you? Nine weeks have passed since my account cancellation, it is stated that an ENTIRE subdivision has cancelled their service, and "Landa" and her staff could care less about returning people's money. Perhaps they have cash flow problems, perhaps the entire OneWay operation FORGETS that it provides a SERVICE, that satisfied customers are IMPORTANT for their business longevity, and there are OTHER OPTIONS for customers. It is noted that in the recent past, OneWay moved its location from Lyons to Longmont. WHY, again? Perhaps, due to the assumed cashflow problems that OneWay is experiencing, they just simply "can't afford" to help people. Perhaps, we can only hope, that "Landa" and her entire staff, including "Shelby" the stated General Manager, are fired. Better yet, let's hope the company closes its doors so that other unsuspecting customers, that OneWay doesn't care anything about, don't have to experience their "laissez faire" approach to why they are in business in the first place. Good luck, OneWay. I realize my money has gone "One Way" into your coffers and you are stealing it, while I am not even utilizing your trash service. Maybe you need my account balance worse than I do and you never intend to return it to me. Thus, I am posting of my underwhelming last THREE interactions with you. Since I, too, am a busy person, I am going to get on with my life knowing that discerning people read reviews online prior to selecting any service that they choose, whether it be restaurants, plumbers, electricians, or, too bad for you, TRASH SERVICE providers. read more

They are less expensive than WM, take trash and unlimited recyclables each week, their driver is really nice and has turned around and driven back down the hill for me on more than one occasion when I forgot to put it out in time, and they allow me to suspend my service without any fees when I am out of town. read more

I've been with this company for years with decent service. This week, I called in advance for an excess trash removal. I sent a picture of what I needed picked up and was told it would be $10, which needed to be paid in advance. Now I got a bill for an extra $25 because they didn't quote one of the items in the picture and are claiming we had excess cardboard boxes. Each of the items was quoted at $5 each, the one they missed in the quote should have been another $5. So the remaining $20 was for excess cardboard and styrofoam. We've never been charged for excess cardboard boxes set out for recycling, which is a separate service we also pay for. The reason for the charge seemed to change with each explanation. First it was too much excess, that we have a 96 gallon limit for trash so anything that didn't fit in our bin was excess, then it was we have a 96 gallon limit for recycle, but we don't have a bin provided by them for it, so it's excess because it didn't all fit into the bin that I provided for recycle materials. read more

Wants to charge me $20 to pick up my trash even though I have already paid. Not customer friendly at all. I am quitting service. I had their service for one year. I had several occasions where my house was skipped all together. I also produce little trash (its just me) but wanted weekly recycle pick up. The company was fine with this and promised to deliver a larger recycle bin since they would only pick that up at the same time as the trash. This was to be a once a month pick up. I never recieved the new bin after several calls and also never got the adjusted bill and finally had to call for my new balance. Upon cancelling my service I had to call again because my bins were picked up over a week early. When I would call their seemed to be little accountability by the office staff who always said it was the driver. They were very frustrating to deal with and never followed through on service arrangments. I will be going with another service after my move. read more

Yes they are less expensive than some of the competition, but their service and word is lackluster at best. I called for a roll off 1 week prior to needing it. Set the delivery date, they took payment in full, then decided on the day of expected delivery that their drivers were not capable of baking down my drive. This is the same drive where 4 other dumpsters had been placed and removed by Western Disposal with no issues, in worse conditions. Looks like trying to save a buck cost me. Western will be here in the morning with a roll off and capable drivers. My mom could back a truck down my drive. Don't waste your time on these guys. read more

Our family lives in the Lyons Valley Park neighborhood and we have been using one way disposal for our trash pickup for about a year. The reason I am giving them 5 stars is that I have been consistently impressed with the guys on our route. After emptying our trash bins, they check to make sure that no small pieces of trash have accidentally fallen onto the ground and they always bring our bins up the driveway and put them nicely next to the garage door. One morning I was running a little bit behind and they showed up before I had put out the trash. I opened the garage door to take out the trash bins and one of the guys noticed that I had my hands full with our one year old daughter. He offered to come inside my garage and take out both of my trash bins for me. read more

One Way Disposal is the very best trash company around. They are reliable and easy to reach and their drivers are always friendly and efficient. I never have to worry that they will miss my pickup. My neighborhood recently voted to use one trash company to help keep our dirt road nicer longer. Because a couple held out for United, and due to a lot of pressure from neighbors, I tried them. I have just dumped United because they are the worst trash company I have ever used. I am going against the neighborhood in order to stay with One Way, Inc. but I don't care. I hadn't had my trash picked up and called to find out why. Apparently I missed a payment. I paid over the phone and asked if they could still pick up my trash and recycle today. The representative put me on hold, called both drivers and 2 hours later my trash is gone! Great customer service, both in the office and on the trucks! read more
