Our server was a very sweet local high school student. My wife and I both had the rocky road, which was excellent. I also had some pistachio. Earlier this summer we got to spend 7 days in Italy. We had gelato several times. I learned that high-quality pistachio ice cream isn't the bright lime green color we're used to in the U.S. If you'll notice, raw pistachios are a very pale green color / almost tan. A passionate Italian ice cream maker taught us to watch out for the lime-green pistachio ice cream.....it's loaded with lots of artificial dyes.
