Kev Dixon is by far the most talented jet carver in Whitby. He dives for the jet himself, eschewing the sub-standard imported material and carves beautifully. While in Whitby, I commissioned a small skull from him, which was wonderful. Subsequently, I commissioned some winkles and a lobster (picture attached) which are every bit as good. This little out of the way shop gave my wife a terrific deal on a lovely piece of Whitby jet jewelry. We were in Whitby only for the day and were looking for a charm for a charm bracelet. When the helpful, friendly proprietor told us we could save £3 by removing the chain from a pendant (which we didn't want anyway), my wife cried "Sold!"
