Love their long hours, love the variety of their menu, love how they have easy parking and a seamless ordering / pick up process. I've tried most of the rolls on their menu that aren't fried, and I recommend them all. I've also had their sushi combos, but haven't tried anything else as far as appies, etc. Great portions for great prices, and always ready on time when I call to order. Definitely the best sushi place in Duncan, much better than Japan Town and Sushi House -- hands down. One thing I didn't like: paying using their machine is awkward. It asks you to tip by default. Obviously, I do tip -- but the way it's programmed to make you tip is a bit of a put-off. Those preset percentages don't start off that low, either. read more

**** VEGETARIAN / VEGAN REVIEW **** This place is great! The guy who took our phone order was clear-spoken, professional, and polite. They're closed for dine-in and the pickup area was well blocked-off and their POS card terminal was connected to their register via a VERY long cord to maintain distance. They take COVID seriously here, every step of the way. The food was terrific! We got tofu bento boxes, yakisoba noodles, and a side Veggie Dragon roll. A great value, $60 after tip for a REALLY hungry family of three... with plenty of leftovers to boot. Sweet! Everything was delicious and well-presented. Unbelievable how they managed to fry perfect slabs of lightly breaded tofu without it falling apart. Sauces were tasty and not too sweet, thick, or cloying. The bento box is a great option. Two big slabs of tofu, three huge pieces of tempura with savoury dipping sauce, rice, edamame steamed in the pod, seaweed salad, four pieces of yam tempura roll, and soup. Wow. My one minor complaint? The miso soup was a bit on the salty side. Cut it with a little water or veggie broth and you're good to go. This place is a cute family-owned sushi joint with fresh, delicious food, great portions, good prices, and respectful professional service. 'There's an old joke - um... two elderly women are at a Catskill mountain resort, and one of 'em says, "Boy, the food at this place is really terrible." Come on down to One More in Duncan for the world's saddest chirashi bowl, featuring weird thin cuts of unpleasant, salty sashimi on a giant bed of cold rice. We go here for Sushi at least once a month with our kids! During the day its pretty mellow inside, so we always get our food very fast, and its very affordable. Our kids love Sushi because of this place and I hope nothing ever changes. LOL. Their ceilings are painted to look like the sky with clouds which is also very cool! read more

The food was so bad, old fish, poor tasting poor quality that we ended up leaving. I told the gal how bad it was and just left my money for the pop I ordered. We went this week for dinner and as we were eating my husband said it was not agreeing with him and he stopped eating the roll in question as I moaned as enjoyed more of it. When we got home he go a bit ill, nothing terribly till the next day when he felt he had a mild case of food poisoning. Unfortunately for me he didn't realize it till I had more of that roll for lunch and got sick as a dog!!!! Food poisoning for sure! I ran into a friend and restaurant owner today who told me that one of her servers had eaten there twice and become severely ill both times. Go to VIHA health inspections and see they have violations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When we walked into an empty restaurant there were 2 dirty table which didn't get cleaned till we were about to leave. I have been eating sushi for over 30 years and in Vancouver and have tried all the sushi restaurants in Duncan. This is the best one and it is affordable. We had dinner here tonight and ordered a 20pc sushi plate. The BC Salmon roll was a part of this order and we definitely thought it tasted bad, the oil in the skin was very fishy and not like fresh BC roll we've had. When we complained we were rebutted with arguments to the freshness of their food. As far as I'm concerned this is not good customer relations and for the $2 it would've cost these people to appease us with another fresher roll they will lose out on us as repeat customers. We will not recommend this restaurant to any one. We felt humiliated by the experience and it left a bad taste in our mouths, ruining our dining experience. decided to try again today, after the terrible experience last time. Again, the rolls are so terribly big, diameter about 3 inches (10cm), ridiculous size to think about puttin into your mouth. We asked our server to please have chef make the rolls thin. When rolls were large again, we decided we'd just eat quickly and messily, and leave. But our waitress, who was a pleasant person and appeared eager at her job, asked what we thought. We told her they were too big to eat. A few minutes later her boss/chef came out, and argued with us! Stated the rolls were big because they were full of 'stuff'. Well of course they were, too much stuff! Said we should have asked for the rolls to be made thin. We said we had done so, and the boss snapped at our waitress, who said gently that she had told her... Shortly afterwards, we heard the boss giving our waitress a load of heck, and not long after that, our waitress left the restaurant. I hope she quit. The boss tried, much too little and too late, to convince us to come back (we'd told her we would not come back), by bringing a replacement of the cheapest item we'd ordered, same diameter but sliced thinner. Won't be back. Food not brilliant, rice falls apart, quite ridiculous rolls (best eaten with a knife and fork), and the boss/chef gave us such a bad taste in our mouths. We thought we had found a great sushi place-wrong! The first 2 times, we had sushi to go-it was great. The 3rd time we dined in. My spouse ordered a roll and when it came to the table, it was not what we expected. We told the waitress what we were expecting, she took it away and instead of bringing what we wanted, the kitchen help (WOULD NOT REFER TO HER AS A CHEF) came to the table and was telling us this is what we ordered. We tried to explain it was not the description in the menu and she argued with us. We could not believe that this was actually happening. The restaurant was average in cleanliness and decor. The ceiling is painted sky blue with clouds everywhere and an eagle painted on the ceiling above the door, so kind of bizarre for being a sushi restaurant. The food was forgettable. Not the worst, but it fell apart before getting it anywhere near your mouth, so certainly not the best. The service was appalling at best. Let me clarify, not all the servers were awful. Just one in particular. She was apparently confused about the order to begin with, then she forgot to hand the order in to the kitchen. Then after waiting an hour, we reminded them and still had to wait another 30 mins before they brought a plate with 10 pcs of sushi on it. We did not receive one apology. Then to top it all off, we had to go up to the cash register to tell her what we all ordered because she couldn't remember/didn't write it down. Even then her attitude was ridiculous for someone supposed to be working in customer service, lacking apology or even a thank you or goodnight. I will never return to this restaurant and will make sure everyone I know is blatantly aware of it's shortcomings. read more

I went there recently with my family. It is the best sushi I had. We had sashimi, sushi, and tempura. Fish are very fresh and it;s real wild salmon, rolls are very tasty, tempura are very crispy. Service there are also very good. They were very good to my daughter, she was very happy there too. We had 3 people ate very full also had some left over for my luch next day, but only spent $43.69. I have eaten in the restaurant a half dozen times, always been greeted at the door quickly and seated promptly. I have ordered take out several times as well. Tonight was my birthday and I decided I wanted a Sushi party with friends. We ordered 3 platters from their menu, and it was all excellent. All my friends (fellow sushi lovers) all raved of the quality and how fancy the sushi was compared to other sushi restaurants. We ordered a veggie sushi platter as well, and my vegetarian friends said they had never had veggie sushi so original and over the top before. The Spinich, yam and asparagus were all gone within minutes. The spicy chopped scallop is one of my favorites. All of the sushi has a clean fresh taste and has always been consistent in my many visits. The prices are very good. The menu is immensely huge, anything you can amagine, they make it. My last visit to the restaurant my sushi took a bit of time to get to the table, but isn't good food worth waiting for?? I tried making sushi at home, and it's a real art, it takes time to create. I'm originally from Victoria, so I had alot of choices of Sushi and have eaten alot of it, and this is my new favorite. read more

I'm glad I didn't vote on this restaurant after our first visit two years ago. It was shortly after they opened. We found the meals high priced with small portions and food that was not memorable. A few weeks ago, when we couldn't find one of our favorites open, we decided to try again. What a difference! The portions were more than substanitial. Both of us really enjoyed our meals, and the prices were well worth the visit. I had spicy salmon sashimi; she had a maki combination. The salmon really was spicy and almost more than I could eat. And sockeye, none of this Atlantic pseudo-food that you see at so many sushi places these days. The maki rolls were more filling (salmon, tuna and kappa) than rice. Again a difference from many sushi places. The next time I had a maki combo with salmon, tuna and California roll. Again the maki was more filling than rice. The portion was so large that I couldn't eat it all. My two companions had teryaki sockeye. Again ample portions with good reviews from the eaters. I'm glad our other favorites were closed that day as we now have a favorite sushi place in Duncan. read more
