The comparison to the two I had had done by dentists was mind blowing. In the previous instances there was discomfort in 1 and in the other they appeared to have injected anesthesia into a nerve that left a portion of my tongue and mouth numb for months. Neither problem happened with Eugenia, it was completely painless and everything was back to normal a by the end of the day. If I ever need another root canal this is who I want to do it.

Anyway, I got an evaluation at a different Endo office in Tulsa and they left me feeling completely NOT confident this re-treatment would be successful. I remembered having gone to BA Endo in 2020 and how great they did, so I asked them to re-evaluate. They KNOW what they're talking about and set accurate and realistic expectations with their patients. I chose to have them do the re-treatment and it was a great decision. Because there was so much infection in the tooth, they couldn't get it all done in one day, but I go back next week to finish up the easy part and I honestly did not have ANY pain after at all, and I'm still feeling fine 3 days later. I'm super thankful. Dr. Strand was funny and kind and I have so much confidence in him. And the dental hygienists who stayed with me the whole time felt like an old friend. Also, their office is BEAUTIFUL (adobe/New Mexico decor... super calming). I hope I don't have to have more root canals in my life but if I do, I'm only ever going here.

I was referred to Endodontic Specialists of Oklahoma in November 2025 for what was supposed to be a…read moreroot canal consultation. My appointment was scheduled for 7:15 a.m., but the experience started poorly from the moment I arrived. There was no visible signage anywhere in the office complex, and with their phone lines turned off that early in the morning, finding the right location was stressful and confusing. The office policy said I could lose my appointment if I wasn't checked in within 15 minutes, which only added to my anxiety. I found the correct door just a minute late, already overwhelmed before the appointment even began.Once inside, the first thing they did was take an expensive CT scan before I even met the doctor or discussed whether it was necessary. After answering dental history questions and completing a regular scan, I finally met with Dr. Tucker. Within just a few minutes, he said, "Oh, you don't need a root canal," but wanted to confirm. He performed a few quick sensitivity tests--using water, air, and a dental probe--and then spent quite a bit of time chatting and joking. While a friendly bedside manner is usually appreciated, in this case it made the appointment drag on much longer than needed. It felt like he was talking in circles when all I wanted was a clear answer.To his credit, Dr. Tucker did explain the situation well and helped me understand why my tooth could heal on its own without the procedure. However, the CT scan turned out to be unnecessary, which was frustrating since I had to still pay $200 for this scan when I left the office. Despite confirming no treatment was needed, the office later billed me an additional $65 for the visit. This billing is standard office policy, yet despite paying my balance at the time of service to avoid a later bill, they still demanded payment again after my insurance refused to cover it.Considering I left with no procedure and no real treatment--just confirmation that my tooth would heal naturally--I left feeling taken advantage of. It seemed like the focus was more on using costly equipment and billing every possible item rather than on patient care.Beware: if you're referred here for a root canal, make sure you ask about all potential charges upfront. This office appears far more concerned with paying for their high-tech equipment than with being transparent or considerate toward patients.

After my dentist sent the referral they called me and booked my appointment for the next morning. I received a text stating my copay would be approximately $200. When I got there this morning, I asked what the copay was for and the man at the front desk said for the 3D scan and it is usually not covered by insurance companies, also all the Dr.'s require it. That immediately did not sit well with me as they already have my X-rays from my dentist and they did not even check to see if it was covered by my insurance company. I looked it up and my insurance states if it is medically necessary then it would be covered. My question is what did we do before this technology was available? Are Endo's today incompetent and cannot do a simple retreat of a root canal without a 3D scan or is it just a way for them to make extra money? Either way, the man at the desk stated that they will bill my insurance and if they pay it then they would refund me, which is completely backwards in the way of doing business. At my dentist, they bill insurance and if insurance does not cover it then they send me a bill and I pay them, easy and doesn't seem like a scam. So after debating for a few minutes with the man at the front desk, he stated if you don't want to be seen then you don't have to be, which was rude and about to get him knocked out. I asked to speak to the Dr. about it and he told me that they have already discussed as this comes up a lot with patients, (well then guess what dumb dumb, it is clearly an issue and you should re-think your "policies"), basically refusing to get the Endo, so I can speak with them. I asked him how much the retreat was going to be and he stated, "Well, if we are having this much trouble already then I think it is best if we just part ways", which tells me that I guess they have so much business, they don't need me even though I am the one who had to request my dentist to refer me. Now i see why my dentist does not refer to these people, you would almost think they were hurting for business though as no other dentist or Endo I have ever been to requires payment upfront without even checking on the insurance, to verify what is and is not covered. Extremely unprofessional in every way and I did not even get to see the Endo but based on the reviews, that is probably best because any dentist that is unprofessional with me will need to have some dental surgery themselves. I would say this business is very unprofessional and probably overcharges since they wouldn't even explain what a re-treat would cost me.

Made an appointment a year in advance, they called three days before the appointment to cancel it so that someone could go to a family function and then couldn't get me in until 3 months later. That is unacceptable. They just lost an entire families worth of business.
