The only downside, there is not an entrance back on the highway, going south, so you have to head down the feeder road a bit.

Given the circumstances, the location was doing a good job of remaining operational and serving customers. The staff was friendly and helpful, and it was clear they were making the best of a temporary situation. While renovations can create some inconvenience, it's encouraging to see the company investing in upgrades and improvements. I'm interested to see what the finished location looks like once the project is complete. Overall, a solid stop during a period of transition, and I look forward to visiting again after the remodel is finished.

As a store, it was fine -- clean, well-organized, well-stocked, with the food and drinks you'd expect from any QT. None of the fundamentals were missing. What was missing for me was the warmth. At the QT locations I got used to in Texas, you can't even step through the door without a staff member calling out a friendly "welcome in!" -- it's almost a brand signature down there, and it sets the tone for the whole visit. At this location, I walked in and got nothing. No greeting, no acknowledgment, just business as usual. It's a small detail, but it's the kind of small detail that separates a great convenience store stop from just a transaction. The store itself does its job and there's nothing wrong with it. But if QT as a brand is going to keep that warm, friendly culture as part of what makes it stand out from every other gas station and convenience store, the team at this location could take a page from their Texas counterparts. Rodney owns the shop and Steve oversees the repair section. He's fixed my daughter's and my own Jeeps many times. I trust them to do oil changes and to tell me my tires need replacement, etc. You can pump your own gas or they will come out and fill it for you. It's wonderful for older ladies - like my mother - who've never gotten used to pumping gasoline themselves. One of the things I like about filling my own is that I have to go inside to pay. No sliding of cards that may have scanners put on them to steal your credit card information. Just one more step to safety in my world.
