We had seen nothing but scrub and tumbleweeds, and dust devils (who knew that stuff was real? Yeah! Maybe cowboys still roam the land as well!) for miles, so we stopped to get gas. My joy is always in trying out the restrooms... These "restrooms" were outhouses, uhm, shack thingamabobbies. I took a deep breath and went in. Electricity! Great. And a laminated sign (see photo) about the 25 cent fee for the non-existent customers (hehe). After the bathroom experience, I went into the store hoping that it would be a real old time kinda place. Well, it was real kind of not gentrified the way that most of NM is. My fellow voyager and I had a date with Korean BBQ, so we didn't linger. Instead, we fought our way outside into the dustbowl-Dorothy-hol-onto-Toto kind of wind... We got into the tiny German car ONE AT A TIME for fear of the car levitating from the wind tunnel that was sucking it's invisible way through this non-existent town. Maybe it was all a dream. A dusty one. But I have the photo as proof...

Low and behold on the way home to California I FINALLY found these at this particular Loves. It was 4am and we were going to shut down so the gal said she would have some on the cooker. 12 HOURS LATER..... After sleeping for almost a day we go back inside and I'm not expecting any breakfast sausages because it's 4pm. But I ask anyways if they are going to put out some and the same gal from last night was there for her next shift and tells me she will put some on even tho they don't serve breakfast anymore. I was so happy! I just simply love this loves! It's super clean and has everything you need for your snacking pleasures plus they have some of the best people working here and at the McDonald's next door. We found out down the road was about 8c/gal cheaper, but this store is clean and the service is friendly. The extra we spent on gas we saved on drinks and snacks, so we considered it a good deal. They also have drink add-ins not available at most convenient stores. Their drink station has a energy boost, and a vitamin add in. The cleaning stations are always full of window cleaning fluid, and I have never found a torn squeegee. This is important to me because it bothers me not to have a clean windshield, or any glares. There restrooms are clean and doesn't have that overly sweet deodorizer smell. I guess these reasons are why we frequent this station while in OKC, when gas is needed, or just for drinks.

Love's Travel Stop May 14, 2026…read more This Love's was in the middle of a remodel during my visit, so there was some construction activity and temporary restroom trailer facilities in place while the work was being completed. Given the circumstances, the location was doing a good job of remaining operational and serving customers. The staff was friendly and helpful, and it was clear they were making the best of a temporary situation. While renovations can create some inconvenience, it's encouraging to see the company investing in upgrades and improvements. I'm interested to see what the finished location looks like once the project is complete. Overall, a solid stop during a period of transition, and I look forward to visiting again after the remodel is finished.
