Once upon a child in Britton plaza had reasonable prices, but the selection was limited in certain items that I stopped in for. This store had a great selection of Children's clothing, though. The people running this store have absolutely no clue what they are talking about. They don't even know what they are allowed to buy. Told me several times they don't buy old navy but she did it just to buy items from me... I didn't ask for any favors but it's literally listed on their site that they do indeed buy old navy. Not to mention every single item I brought in was in perfect condition...not a single stain on them... some never even warn just washed. Make it make sense. This store is awful and the old bag with miss fat green hair have now made me sure that I will never sell to this business again. Their prices have gone higher on everything there. Walked in, no sign on the door about requiring a mask (I had one on but pulled down because.... NONE of the employees were wearing masks. The owner "asked" me in a not so polite manner to pull my mask up which was no problem at all except then still none of the employees had masks on? She's standing right next to 3 people not wearing masks? Not a great impression. Also the sign outside says they pay cash which they don't, they only pay store credit. read more

Once Upon a Child, located in Britton Plaza, can be a hit or a miss. The majority of the baby clothes are Carter's and Gerber's brands clothing, but occasionally you come across designer clothes. One of my best finds include a pair of adorable khaki shorts from Janie and Jack, a very expensive children's boutique. Most of the clothing is in fairly good condition and I have found multiple onesies and outfits that still had the tags on them. As you approach the one year mark the clothes are not nearly as pristine. The store also sells a selection of gently used baby furniture, baby bouncers and other gear, toys, and books. I'm really trying to like OUAC but the employees make it so hard. I called ahead of time to ask if they were accepting clothing at this time and and she said yes... I showed up less than half an hour later and they turned me away and said they were too busy but I can come back tomorrow... why waste my time and tell me over the phone that you're accepting clothing right now if you're not! I wasted my time and has to have to come back tomorrow? Not a chance. That was the point of me calling ahead, to make sure I don't waste my time. I've been here a total of three times and two out of the three times I've been turned away. read more

I purchased nine DVDs here on 1/11/19. We checked all nine and one was damaged. It didn't play correctly (colors were inverted). The other eight DVDs were fine, so I knew it wasn't the DVD player. I tried to exchange it on 1/25/19--two weeks after my purchase. I understand that the refund policy is seven days, but I just couldn't get back to the store any sooner than today. I didn't want my money back--I just wanted to exchange it for another DVD. They refused. Seriously?!?! I spent $32 in the store on this purchase. I'm a regular customer, both buying and selling. And they wouldn't work with me. Their inflexibility just lost my business. read more

Staff/owner racist. It is subtle but definitely there. Called to sell baby clothes that are in great condition, was told to bring them in. The moment i walked in i saw the cloud of disapproval on their faces. You could tell that their initial reaction was to decline to buy but then their racism would be called out so they went through the motions. While waiting for them to sort through the items i took the time to look over what they had for sale. They do have some decent looking walkers, etc but selling used products for prices that you can get new. Much of the baby clothes looked well used instead of gently used and the best bargain they have is a white crib for $100 which again for a couple more dollars you can get the same crib brand new. Posted this to let them know their racism is apparent and request that they stop judging people just by the color of their skin. read more

Ive been here several times. Once to consign some bassinets. Got WAAAY less than what I was expecting and yes I know they need to make money also. One thing I did like was that they do give you cash on spot, which Mommy likes. Not bad for a baby consignment shop but I prefer Stellie Bellies in St Pete. This is supposed to be a place for children! I went in with my 10-year-old and my one year-old and began shopping. As kids do my 10-year-old had to use the restroom. and w a storm coming in the lady told me that they did not have a restroom for her to use that she would have to go two doors down to Stein Mart. Sad to say but I rather hike all the way up to 41 near 54 and go to All About Kids because they are so Nice and just as reasonable and most importantly they know how to treat their clients. read more

I kept meaning to check out this store but never made it inside. Finally, I got out of work a little early and wanted to pop in for a quick look. It was 20 minutes to closing and the doors were already locked. I looked at the sign with the store hours and confirmed the store was SUPPOSED to be open. There was an employee inside who just looked up at me and mouthed, "We're closed." Talk about terrible customer service! I have never written a review so this is unusual for me... After purchasing about $30 worth of items at this location a few days ago, my spouse joined me today to return and attempt to sell some items. We happen to be a same-sex couple & after my spouse joined me, the attitude of the saleswoman definitely changed. The woman gave us a funny look & told us we had to wait at least 20 to 25 minutes and that then she would let us know how much our items were worth. We brought a gently used swing/cradle, clean bath tub purchased new last week, and a box full of clothing. Because we are adopting, our baby was too big for most of the clothes, and with exception of a single wash with Dreft, the clothes/hats, etc had never been worn. We received $2.10 and were returned every item except three pieces of clothing & were told that this was because they didn't have tags or that their store already had too many of the items. Also, she claimed the bath was missing a "cup," which I had never seen. Even clothing we bought from their store which our baby never wore, they would not take. Isn't the point to sell back gently used accessories? At best, our experience was frustrating, and at worst, disturbing as it led us to feel treated unfairly. read more

Staff doesn't seem to have full knowledge of the do's and don't of selling items nor do they give out full and correct information upon checking out after you have placed your items up for sale. make sure you ask if you will be receiving store credit or cash for items. I called and was told i was able to come back and turn in my store credit for cash at a different time because at that time they were still only doing store credit (LACK OF KNOWLEDGE) since at the time i dropped of my items which were way over 200 bucks all together and was told at the time of check out that they were giving store credit not do i wan't store credit but that store credit is what was being given at that time. I had to almost have a stare own which the manager or whoever on duty just to go back in the system and give me the 7 bucks that she was willing to i had to explain to her why i needed it just for her to lift a finger which i shouldn't have had to do. So I call again a few weeks later and explain everything over and told her how i wanted to turn in my store credit instead of saying "can you call back I just have to check with my manager" she says sure come on down (AGAIN LACK OF KNOWLEDGE, WASTE OF GAS AND TIME) I show up to the store the staff has no idea what to do and ends up calling the manager who told me this whole story on how it wasn't possible this that and the third and to just spend it in the store. I don't have a child, I am an aunt who was returning for my sister who doesn't like to shop at store like once upon a child but to explain all that to receive something i was told possible to do TWICE so now i'm stuck with a store credit I will never use. read more
