I was thrilled to find a place for a single mom on a limited budget to shop for clothes and toys that were affordable...usually less than half the original sticker price. I was able to provide clothes and toys for many years thanks to your business. Fast forward to March 2025. I now have 3 granddaughters. We watch them every other weekend. My spouse and I are both disabled and back on a limited budget, which I never thought I'd be at the age of 50 after working in the corporate world for 20 years. I thought - hey...we just moved back to this side of town, I can shop for the girls at Once Upon a Child! NOPE. Won't do it now OR EVER!!! Imagine my surprise when I went to the size 12 section for girls and found an adorable white tank top with some brown and tan butterflies on it --- something I would expect to pay a couple dollars for at a SECOND HAND SHOP. NOPE - $6.00. I thought maybe it was a mistake so I looked at the very next white tank top that was plain white...with the top of the front with frilly material. $4.00. WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!? I worked in negotiations...maybe these are opening prices....maybe? I went up to the counter and asked if the prices were negotiable. I was told, only if there is obvious damage. Well, no damage to those shirts...other than Once Upon a Child wanting to rip off customers. I am extremely disappointed in what this business has become. Maybe it's because the location borders on Sylvania/Toledo that as a business you think it is okay to charge these prices? Maybe it's because your business model has changed and instead of trying to serve a population that lives paycheck to paycheck you are now more interested in profit? Let's just say that I will take my business elsewhere, probably to the actual stores that sell those items brand new for the price you are charging for used...or even less. From her driveway I reached out to the boutique/owner, letting them know of the issue and asking how we could resolve it. I continued to reach out multiple ways, with NO response. After a month and a half of weekly attempts trying to reach the boutique I gave up. I will never purchase from this boutique/person again and am sure to caution all I know about this "boutique".

She read one of the tags on our items and immediately decided she thought the price was too low and said she thought it was a different price. The tag was a sale tag put over the original tag where you could see an 8 peeking out. I mentioned this and she claimed she couldn't see it. She then proceeded to call the owner of the item and literally convince her that the item wasn't $4, and that it was $9. She wouldn't stop until the owner on the phone was convinced and then told us that's the price. Like what??? Do you even want customers? That you're going to make them feel so unwanted over 5 goddamn dollars?????? Not sure what the point of this place is if they're going to run customers out the door for pocket change so id say maybe skip.

I scored a new with tags lined leather black skirt for $8 and a pair of white NYDJ jeans for $12. I've never left empty handed.
