I've read several reviews about this place. I'd like to clarify it is a business. They specify in the beginning you have 72 hours to pick up your things or else it is automatically donated. You sign a slip agreeing to those specific terms. .Please read and pay attention to the details before signing agreements. Please do not provide derogatory statements because you chose not to pay attention. I do agree about the manager, she wears Christian t-shirts specifying she is blessed or God's servant. She does not represent Christian's nor the business at all. She provides POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE and treats people as if she is entitled to to treating guest poorly because she holds the title "manager". These are different guest perspectives and she should be held accountable for her POOR management skills!!!!She simply represents Christians poorly!!! There are 2 kind and loving individuals and that is Aubrie and Tammy. In my opinion they should replace the manager. Smells bad when you walk in. They don't separate the clothes very well, there's girls mixed in with the boys every time. It's not a lazy customer, it's a lazy employee or they can't tell boys from girls clothes. This place is way over priced. I've even found clothes with the wrong tags! Employees were too wrapped up in their personal conversations to even acknowledge any customers! Never try to sell anything either! They don't like taking name brand things! read more

I do love shopping here, but they aren't consistent with clothes and toy purchases. They don't have many toys and now I know why; they give you no more than $1 per toy; even if it's in perfect shape and was expensive. What happened to that store. It's a children's clothing store and all the staff had a bitter taste in their mouth today. I went their last time and most everyone was happy and full of energy except the lady in the red or pink shorts who unfortunately seemed to be the manager today. She was quit un approachable due to her attitude. I was so close to asking if someone else could help me. But today it was most everyone I didn't even want to continue shopping because I didn't want to get checked out by three of the four women there because they seemed just mad at everything. Like if someone were to check out we would stand there for a minute with them just looking at us like we weren't supposed to be there. Lady's it's a children's store be happy and cheerful and more excited. I amongst many other parents probably don't want their children around that bad energy. I did put three stars because despite the attitude and poor customer service. I love it and it's a beautiful company!! I was going to get my little sister a job application there cause she is looking for a job and very good at things like this but I honestly don't want her to be brought down in that environment honestly hah. But like I said I will still continue to go. I just wish they were more uplifting especially for a children's store. read more

Last week I took in 2 LARGE tubs of my granddaughter's outgrown beautiful stain free name brand little girl clothes to the store in the next town. I spent HOURS washing & inspecting them, including only stain free name brand, the rest I donated. I had called & was told they had to be in covered totes & pet hair & smoke free. I have a cat and dog. Did my best. Folded straight out of hot dryer into tubs; kept them covered in between loads. But they called me after I dropped them off, either the same day or the next. A pet hair found on a black item. I had to come get them. I WAS NOT given a time frame. Today, my first day off I went to get them. They are in the next tiwn & I work two jobs. My bad. They CLAIMED they were donated. Didn't say where. Yes I was EXTREMELY irate. But not rude. The clerk was. I requested a manager who was only called after I insisted & persisted. The clerk informed me she wasn't in the mood for this. I was standing between the counters & glanced down. Granted none of my granddaughter's clothes were originals, yet everything on that tote I immediately recognized. So they not only stole my clothes, they donated to themselves. They WOULDN'T put me on the phone with the manager. They did not tell me when I called before going of this policy. When I dropped off I filled out a form. My bad I didn't read it. There were 4 other people behind me & an indifferent clerk. Got a bad vibe then. Should have trusted it. They DID NOT give ME any paperwork. Why complicate their theft right? They did not tell me when theh called about the pet hair. They did not give a second call. After all what damage can a 50 year old struggling grandma supporting a disabled husband on little more than minimum wage do? I can't afford a lawyer. I was desperate (& stupid).. bitter now too. All I can say is buyer beware. They know they are the only game in town, they can treat people however they wish. read more

I recently took one bin of clothing items for a girl during my lunch break. I had approximately 25 items as this was my first time and the reviews were not all that good. Upon entering I was greeted and asked had I been there before. Since I replied no, the girl explained to me the process. I filled out a sheet she took my I bin and stored it amongst a LOT of other stuff. My first thought was how in the world is she going to know what belongs to whom? She told me that I could expect a call the next morning at the latest letting me know if they accepted anything and that I had 72 hours to pick up unwanted items. Later that day before I left work I got a call that some items had been accepted and I could pick up money and what was not accepted. Of the 25 there was only 2 items left! The amount of money was not that significant, but for items that are just sitting in my house taking up space,it was worth it to me! I will sell there again. My only suggestion would be to relook at the processing of items and how they take them in. That area was very cluttered and unorganized. The rest of the store was neat and clean tho! Wouldn't recommend for selling your child's clothing. Designer brand clothing in new condition, never worn, only willing to pay a couple of dollars for. Patagonia jacket $120 - offered $2. Matilda Jane dresses $100+ - offered $2. Mini Boden coats - offered $2. Stick to selling online or donate. Not at all worth the trip for selling items. read more

I recently took my first trip to Once Upon a Child. I took about four bags of clothes, shoes, and baby blankets. I also took a box of children's books in good condition. They informed me processing would take about a week at the time of my drop off. I received a call the following week informing me that my stuff had been processed. They bought around 60% of my items. I don't think they accept books at all. I received all of them back. For me, it was a very pleasant experience! They paid more than I expected. I dropped off a second load today. So far it's been a good experience. Items for sale look new and clean. Staff is polite and helpful too. My only suggestion would be I wish they had a separate place maybe at the back for drop off and processing. It gets cluttered and I worry my stuff may get separated and processed for another patron. read more

I absolutely love shopping here. You get a ton of clothes very cheap. They do a very good job of organizing clothes and sorting by color. I'm not a huge fan of the shoe areas though. All of the shoes are thrown in big bins and mixed. It takes forever to find the size you need. Besides that, I love going there. read more

This place essentially robbed me of hundreds of name brand and boutique items that I had been hanging onto to sell. I dropped off my stuff on January 3rd and received a call to pick up what wasn't purchased January 6th. I got there around 6pm to find out that all my items were gone. They told me they had already been donated even though I told the lady on the phone that I'd be there after work (I got off at 5) and she said that was fine. They told me there was no way to get them back and only offered me $37.50 for what they bought. Even if OUAC paid less than a dollar a piece, I'd still be owed at least $200. If it was just me I'd cut my loss, but it seems that they're doing this to a lot of people and it's wrong. PLEASE don't make the same mistake I did--do KidsMarket, yard sales, or sell elsewhere. I'd donate my items to the charity/place of my choice myself before trying to sell to OUAC again. Who knows where the "donated" items are actually ending up? I'd be willing to bet they're for sale on the shelves or employees are simply taking them. That's stealing either way and nobody likes a thief. The owner, Brenda Bishop, does not care about her customers because she was unwilling to do anything to make it right other than giving me $10 store credit and a 15% discount like I'm ever going to shop there again. Most of their items are worn out and way overpriced anyway. They won't be in business very long if they don't start doing better. It's a shame, I was looking forward to them opening. read more
