The company didn't event bother to follow up with us and we were chasing them to get an answer. We feel this a lost cause after the lack of care and respect. The story "Gina, We fully paid for an impact door on 12/28 of last year. We have been waiting almost three months for a door that was supposed to be delivered in four weeks. We have been constantly chasing you and your company to get an answer and trusted you were going to deliver after requesting a written confirmation, which you can see below. Friday 3/15 passed and you didn't even bother to call to tell us the door was not coming. We spent the whole day waiting for a truck to show up at our place. After your lack of care, my wife called you (again) the following week on Wednesday, and you put her on hold for 30 minutes to wait in vain, since a co-worker of yours picked up the phone telling my wife that you were not available and that you were going to call us back. Of course, same as the door, we are still waiting. The only thing you did right was charging our credit card three months ago, so I am contacting the issuer to get my money back and please expect a not very nice review on social media. Have a great weekend" The end

Realizing that using black electrical tape was not aesthetically pleasing to the designer wannabe's…read moreeye, I drove myself off to the local hardware, which according to Yelp was the ACE Hardware located on 284 NE 79th St In Miami. In short they gave me an estimate of $8.00 for 5 small rolls of different colored electrical tape with 1 small white one in. OMG I was appalled. Disgusted with Yelp I turned to Google and found the Little River Building & Home Supply store. It wasn't far from this ACE Robbery store. I did not have high hopes as I had never heard of this place and it seemed to be off the beaten path for sure. It was 4:30 in the afternoon on a Saturday, and like most places in Little Haiti I was expecting it to be closed or be closing soon. I pull up, and pull in, and behind the counter, to me; (which to you may seem odd), is two medium framed, Italian Middle Aged ladies who seem to mean business. One lady clearly runs the store, the other is either family, or is just providing company. I obviously seem exasperated because the one Italian mafia looking middle aged lady asks me how she can help me, which I think is quite refreshing in Little Haiti, but anyway, I tell her I am desperately looking for white electrical tape, a feat that seems to be elusive as finding Dom Perignon on 54th and NE 2nd Ave. She turns away from me and I think, yeah they don't have it either, I should probably should just look online. She turns back to me holding a large roll of white electrical tape and says, "here we go". I look at her like she is definitely the Italian Mafia. I ask her how much. She says; "$3 dollars". Well that was that right there. Like someone out there said; it's all in the little things. It damn well sure is. I have been back three times since. The Owners name is Laguna. I don't think she's Italian. I have never had the audacity to ask. I think she has some handsome sons though, and I think perhaps they put in a shift or two at the store, but I think on the whole she works herself to death there. Her husband died years ago. She told me she knew more than her husband did, and I believe her. I once told her about a speaker wire project I was doing and she asked me I about the points I was using. I had never heard of a point but I had seen one. I just never put two and two together. I told her about the silver mirror that was hanging by a miracle and a wisp of air, she scolded me on the chosen anchor and educated me on the correct anchor as well as the overall use of the stud finder while I was trying to find a stud finder app on my IPHONE. What I can tell you if you're a Man - I mean you must be reading this for something informational enough to want to go to this store, is that their 80lb cement bags are $6.90 each, and it doesn't matter how much you want they have it on hand. And you are so welcome; I took all those pictures just for you big daddy.

WARNING DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT A DAMAGED DOOR…read more I purchased French doors for my home, but they arrived with a broken flush bolt. When I returned to the store to report the issue, I explained that I was frustrated because my installer would need to make an additional trip, charging me extra for the return visit. The response I received was completely unacceptable. The staff accused me of breaking the part myself, stating, "YOU BROKE IT, NOT US. WE DON'T SELL DOORS WITH BROKEN PARTS." I wasn't asking for much just acknowledgment of the inconvenience and perhaps a small gesture of goodwill. Instead, they refused any compensation and continued to insist I had damaged the part myself. I expected better customer service a family owned business. I cannot recommend this company based on my experience. You will be much better off going to a brand name like Garcia Door & Window

The…read morequality of the door was OK, some of the holes for the handles didn't matched exactly and it was really difficult to make it work, since the door is in aluminum it's hard to redo any screw hole. My biggest complaint is the person they recommend for the installation, Oscar 786-546-2022 came to give me the estimate after not showing 3 weeks earlier, that day he told me that installation of the door and 2 windows will be $600 and that was a super deal because he normally charge $1000. So I asked him if he takes care of everything, and he replied YES, the work is going to be perfect. So when the time for the installation came, he arrived one hour late, made a mess in the door because the frame was over 1 inch smaller and he didn't finished the cosmetic imperfections. He went ahead to tell me, "when I come back to install you the other 2 windows I will fix that for FREE". Really? Free? What are the $600 I'm paying you for? So at the end I asked my neighbor how much he paid for his installation with the same guy and it was less than I was charged. After this ugly chapter I found a different guy to install the remaining windows and fix the mess done by Oscar. I gave Economy Windows another chance and placed an order for 3 more windows, Juan Carlos, the owner is so disorganized that he couldn't get the right measurements neither send me an invoice with the right products and amount to be pay. So I give up and went to Garcia Door & Window 305-634-0635. This people got it right from the first time.

NO TICKET, NO TOOL!…read more What a find! I have a pricey Porter-Cable brad nailer that jammed upon first use. It took me a ton of googling, emailing and calling to get DeWalt to honor the warranty, but the upshot was that United Tool is an authorized DeWalt / Porter-Cable repair center. Although United Tool is located in Hialeah, they are on the outskirts, so while one gets to experience the creative zoning and independent street grid & naming conventions unique to the city, a trip here does not require a passport or teleportation device. Bonus - they are located near the San Pedro Pet Supply & Botanica, so if you need to do some santeria on your dog AND you need a tool, you're covered! It was easy enough to find with GPS and they have a few dedicated parking spots along the side of the building. The store is small and covered in peg-board, just like your dad's garage workshop from the 1970's. The gent behind the counter, Henry, explained that they were having an issue getting paid by DeWalt for repair work, so they would send the tool out. I got a ticket in exchange for turning over the nailer, and was admonished, both by Henry and by the copious signage inside that NO TICKET, NO TOOL! I made sure to secret that golden ticket in a safe place! Just about two weeks later, I got a call that my nailer was ready for pickup. Frantic excavation of my office ensued to locate the ticket before I set off for the pickup. It works like a charm and I couldn't be happier to nail stuff down to my heart's content. Thanks guys!
