Shelves and fresh food are usually well stocked. Bathrooms, floors, and the lot could be cleaner. The free air pump for tires usually works. Employees are generally efficient and sometimes friendly. There are 24 fuel pumps for gas and diesel, so you can nearly always find an open refueling spot. The lot is busy, though, requires extra caution. A large side lot provides safer parking if you're just using the store or need a place for a quick break.

The bagged lettuce is usually watery even for bags dated out a week or two. The vegetables and fruit are poor quality. And the selection is slim compared to other stores. I do like that they have Dolly Parton's frozen food options and it's usually on sale. I do like a few of the Deitz & Watson lunch meats (Hot Honey Chicken, Black Forest Turkey and Buffalo Chicken), two solid options and uniquely flavorful. The pickles in the deli are old, not fresh and crisp as they should be. They are still $1. The Deli Manager, Julie is rude and super unprofessional and hostile towards her co-workers. We witnessed her yelling at an employee in front of customers, completely degrading and speaking down to him. If she's this comfortable acting like that in front of customers, this tells me that she's been doing this for awhile and getting away with these deplorable actions. They were one of the first stores around to place Plexiglas shields at the registers, mark 6 ft spots near the registers, offer hand sanitizer, host a senior hour and time for those with compromised immune systems, and promote mask wearing. One amazing option Schnucks offers shoppers since March of 2020 is to order groceries through Instacart (with no Instacart Fee) for drive up pick up. There are designated spots right outside the store for these orders. While the shopper is filling the order you can chat in the App and request other items. The Schnucks employees bring your order out to your car wearing a mask and place it in the trunk. The fresh produce and other grocery items I have gotten here all have been excellent quality. I shop at Schnucks much more frequently now. The Mason Store employees are prompt, friendly, and efficient. I will be back soon.

I wonder if it's because I am a brown person. She needs to seek employment that doesn't require her to work with the public. I have previously spoke with management about their behavior, nothing changed. Kevin did improve but Sandy is worse. It's crazy that I waste time and gas to avoid them and go to Dierbergs near Olive and Craig. The customer service there is wonderful. The staff are familiar with my entire family. This is the community my children grew up in and still reside as young adults. They have experienced the poor customer service from Sandy also. I don't want to give up on this location, but it seems there is no other choice. This has been a problem for a few years, I purchased a home closer to this location, but I may just have to take my business to Schnucks across the street.
