Lol Alex J has been doing my hair for a few yrs now (and my girls ) and each time I go she listens and does exactly what I ask. I have not had a disappointing cut/style yet. She even amazed my mom when she came for a visit this summer by taking her comments and interpreting them to a beautiful and complimentary cut. There is only one bathroom in the back but it's roomy, clean and always stocked with smocks, toilet paper and the essentials. There's a small K-cup coffee maker in the back that houses a few porcelain tea cups. Normally, I'd be kind of weird about using non-paper items in a business but for whatever reason, this place seems clean so I'll drink the free coffee from the reusable cups. There's also a corner for makeup application and another corner in the back for eye lash extensions. Also in the back is an open area for hair washing. It's very unique in this set up as I've never seen anything like it! I love that I'm not stuck behind a wall or hidden behind some kind of hair spray shelving. The staff is super friendly and very talkative. I love that the other employees come and chat with you a bit before heading off. The place gave the demeanor of a happy, safe place but with the design of the modern day. I've been to this location twice to see Maria. I live in DC but after having Maria do wonders on my flat, Asian hair and with all of the semi-terrible experiences I've had in DC, I'll gladly travel 12 hours south for her magic touch! The first time I saw her, I hadn't had a decent hair cut in almost 8 months so my hair was all over the place. Not to mention, I had it highlighted previously and tried to do a home repair because I hated it so much so my hair was damaged and frizzy at the ends. Maria had me in and out in less than 30 minutes with a sleek shiny do and some amazing side bangs (which I would have NEVER considered before but absolutely love now!). The second time I saw her was 4 months later because I really wanted a balayage style coloring and in dire need of a trim. My concern with the balayage is that almost every picture on Google only allows for large curls and I really hate curling my hair (because I'm lazy and I have a 1-year-old) and I wanted it to look great at it's natural state. She styled it in a curled fashion but I've since never curled my hair and it looks fantastic straight with a simple blow dry! I'm already planning another trip to Columbus GA to get some touch ups before I head out for another work trip and I couldn't be more excited! I can't believe people actually LIVE in the area and choose to go to a different salon. Hands down this place is one of the best I've ever been too. I can't really compare the prices since DC prices are much higher but I've heard it's fairly reasonable. For me, the price is moot for the confidence it gives me!

The layers were fine but the bangs were uneven and too short. I don't want to say who the stylist was but she'd been one long enough to know how wonky they looked. She was trying to fix it but I was rushed out of the chair when her next client showed up which was not a great feeling. Overall not a great experience.

The massage part was terrible. The technician was nice but she ended the session at 3:20.....so I ended up with a 30 minute facial that was supposed to be an hour (50 minutes). When I asked the front desk about the time of the facial I was told different people "need" different levels of work. I wasn't there for work....it was supposed to be a relaxing facial. That was $85 DOLLARS! This is actually my second bad experience here and I probably should have learned the first time but I was hopeful this one would be different.
