We have worked with our renters on allowing them to paint (as long as they paint it back to neutral) and have even worked with a renter who ended up with COVID and needed to pay their rent late. The key is open communication and this company has done nothing but keep the open communication going. They are there for the renters and for the home owners. I actually had a different property management company before them that was awful not just for me but also for my renters so when I found Sybil's she was just what we were looking for and has done amazing ever since. We have been renting our home for almost 13 years now. Thank you for your wonderful care of our home and your care for our renters.

They are constantly a pleasure to deal with and in several instances/ occasions now have dropped everything they are doing to accommodate our needs or a possible last minute service emergency. For example, this past July 4th, our AC went out, and Fabian (while on a family vacation) dropped everything he was doing and was willing to offer his services and leave the vacation to bring us a temporary unit while ours got replaced. While this is extremely unnecessary, but greatly generous and appreciated, this is the kind of family owned genuine service you can expect from the entire McQuilkin team. I highly recommend them and will continue to give them future business for many years to come! Thanks A lot McQuilkin Real Estate. Drew Juliano -Holly Springs

SCAM! Run far far away, save yourself the stress and financial loss!…read more I will preface this review by saying this is an account of personal experiences, and does not mean you will absolutely have the same experiences. If you have been a victim of this company, or are involved in legal action, contact me. This is one of those reviews where I wish I could leave zero stars, but alas, we work within the confines of the star rating system. First of all, this property management company is deceitful. They rented me an unsafe property, did not inform me ahead of time of the problems with the property (which I found out they knew about prior to signing a lease), and did not correct the dangerous living conditions. Things you may find when renting from these unethical scam artists: (these are an account of personal experiences, and I do not speak for any one else) 1. First, they told me the property would be cleaned prior to move in. Then after a lease is signed, I moved in to a filthy dirty property, carpets, floors, walls, pretty much everything. They said it was professionally cleaned prior to move in. They could not produce any proof of cleaning (because it did not exist), would not hire anyone to clean, and then charged for cleaning after move-out, even though it was cleaned. Pocketing the money themselves? It's possible. 2. Don't expect too much of anything fixed. It doesn't matter if it is a safety issue or not. They might tell you "the landlord doesn't want to spend the money..." After reading other reviews, I'm convinced they are not speaking for the landlord, as any sane property owner knows you must fix dangerous safety issues. Expect maintenance issues to be a giant, frustrating runaround with a carousel of excuses. Trying to maximize profits at the tenants expense? It's possible. 3. The staff is a hot mess. Completely unprofessional, and flat out rude. Incompetent? It's possible. Recommendations if you must rent through Touchstone for whatever reason out of your control (it would be insane to rent from them by choice): 1. Check for safety of the property. Pest inspection, termite inspection, structural integrity. 2. Ask to see a housing inspection report. One was likely conducted (especially if the property has been on the market.) 3. Ask if there are any known issues with the property. If they claim there are not, require that they put that in writing. 4. Test EVERYTHING before signing a lease. A/C, heat, lights, stove, fridge, freezer... absolutely everything... even more that you normally would. 5. DOCUMENT EVERYTHING. Dates, times, every conversation, pictures of everything. Save voicemails. Ask any repair techs that do come to the property for copies of receipts and their diagnosis in writing. Talk to people about your experiences. This can prove to be very helpful if they lie after you move out. This is a tiny slice of the pie, but I'll leave it at that. If you are a victim involved in or considering litigation, please feel free to contact me. I also recommend going to the BBB if you've been a victim of this company.

They were rude and refused to help us. We have a house under contract and simply wanted to go look at our house. Then after 30 minutes of waiting one of the realtors decided to escort us to our property. He claimed that they had to be careful seeing as they have had a lot of burglaries. What the hell were we going to still in a Sudan with baby on board stickers on the car?!!!! We felt racially profiled. If you are a minority be mindful of the way they do business.

We used Pineland Realty to manage our property for 3 years with minimal issues during that time…read more When we decided to sell we listed with Melissa for ease since we were out of state and she was already managing the property. Worst decision ever. She gave us very little information about showings like how many we had or if any were scheduled for future. We had to reach out to her to get any updates, and even at that the updates were lacking. We accepted our first offer because we honestly had no faith in her and just wanted to be done with the process. We were in contact with a lawyer from that point on for closing and only heard from Melissa again if we reached out. This is not our first experience selling a home but this was very different. Communication was terrible and she didn't even clearly communicate closing date or if everything was moving along as scheduled. Fast forward to 4 months after closing...we received an email from Melissa informing us that there was an outstanding bill from 9 months prior when we owned the home. Apparently the company finally got around to billing Pineland Realty. Not once throughout the selling process did she mention that we had an outstanding bill. We had authorized her to make minor repairs without our permission while she was managing our property. This repair in particular was for resetting a garage GFCI, which is something a decent property manager should be able to troubleshoot without having to call in an electrician. Rather than eat the cost of the bill since she was the one who screwed up (also she had just made thousands of dollars in undeserved commission), she passed it on to us. So now I'm addition to being irritated by the whole situation, I'm left wondering how many "repairs" we paid for over the 3 years that could have been handled by her.
