my name is Dennis Thornton and I live in Simpsonville and unfortunately I was recommended to go…read morehere back in September and was kicked out in April. I was falsely accused not once but twice and then when they me out, they called me back and said let's sort of like kiss and make up so to speak because they knew had made a terrible mistake and I refused the more detailed version is this. They had a lady there who was from South America and she was very mentally off very weak personal and this woman would especially a senior citizen like myself, and she would tell you that she was kidnapped in South America. That's why she left and she fled to the states to be and you didn't know whether to believe not, but then she would say that she was trying to make ends and she has a crafting service where she makes baby products and she said do I have any grandbabies and I said yes we have two and she says me make some product for but don't tell the management here because they'll fire me well. I didn't know what to say so I said sure I'll buy some to help her out and I did this girl is a very unassuming plain Jane looking girl about 30 years old and I paid her the money and she made the goods time I went she asked me how I like the goods and I told her fine the third time I saw her I said hey since we're friends now, let me talk to you while and my blood pressure. She's the first person that you see when you go in and I was just talking to her about how unhappy I was at Carolina pain management. Let me tell you why. they were always late with their appointments running behind. You went there to get your prescriptions filled if you're on opioids which is a pain how you the meds working and weren't working so they tried different but they always get my medicines to the pharmacy like three days later they never got them there on time When you called to remind them, you have to call 17 times to get them to answer. They never answer the phone and never return messages. well, John HAASIS very aggressive guy he was nice to me said he was gonna get me I go to Greenville orthopedic surgeons and I did know what they were doing. They said they couldn't help me. I went said well what are we doing now? I said I might have to go to a specialist so we both agreed on and I did went down all took six months and M I have to do a triple fusion30 $5000 surgery that's the only thing they could do so they said give me some leg shots to help reduce the this is right after Christmas the fine folks at Carolina pain management took them from December to January to February to March to April they didn't have a shots ready for me until late April you think four months is too long I four months well my last time there was an April 16 when my PA Chandra wanted to give me morphine and I'm not gonna take that then she said what about I said that's too strong too so then she said by the way when you were talking to Diana, the girl from made her cry I said oh no I feel horrible. Let me apologize. no it's mentally. I said why would you guys have her to be in the front line person on we got a real line her have her do something else I said do I know her apologies she said no you're fine. Then the two ladies that we're waiting outside in the door were two ladies at work there I asked them do no Mr. Thornton you're fine. You didn't do anything wrong. She's just mentally insecure. Don't worry about it and then when I left to pay the Chrisie, the girl at the desk I her the same thing with loves you here you're fine so I'll home the next the next day again they didn't answer my prescription is now two days late on the third day they called me. It was a black lady older and she was really nervous and she said Thornton we are going to have to ask you not to come back gulped and I said you're kidding why she goes well you were mean to the staff well that was a lie. Staff means plural I said you singular as in Diana she goes. Yes I use their own terminology. I said I already checked before the people and I didn't say anything was just being was lying and she goes Mr. Thornton. I agree with you and no one wanted to call you but I volunteered but I heard the whole thing and I'm telling you you need to get an you were falsely said that so then about an hour calls the PA wrong thing you failed your drug come back. I'm the for the test so if I did anything wrong, you volunteer she is wow you're right and then how did I fail the drug test she goes over two drugs in your system. I replied those two drugs that you just mentioned the two drugs that you gave me Chandra almost dropped the phone and she's almost started which is the truth. She goes. Oh my gosh this place is a shit show. I am so confused she goes. Would you please come talk to Dr. get this squared awayhe kicked you out because Diana the girl from South America America said somebody was mean to her and he says we kick him out and he did

Provided emailed comfirmation of appointment and was informed that was under the old system not the new system and I had been called about the system change. Again refutted the claim, pulled up all incoming calls for the previous 80 days and asked for a record of said contact which could not be provided. When asked to reschedule it was claimed that the new system goes into effect on 3/1 and they would have to get a new referral and insurance approval then contact me. 17 days later with no contact I contacted them and was told insurance had denied the claim as I had already had one shot on 2/28. Reminded them they had cancelled that and repeatedly heard "I understand" while reiterating I could not get two shots within a 90 day period. Oddly, BCBS states that the claim was denied as documents requested were not provided. Can't say anything about the Doctors as I have not gotten any treatment but the front line staff has shown to be incompetent.

She looked down @ her phone or whatever was more important than a patient as soon as she made a copy of my insurance card. I had to ask when I pay, & she answered me by saying when you check out. She should've told me that as why I was checking in. The doctor I had was truly the worst I've ever had. She sent someone in before her to ask about the mobility of my arm, then she came in & forced my arm to do things it couldn't do, & consequently she hurt me. Then she said she could've been harder on me, or something to that effect. What kind of thing is that to say to a person? Then she told me I was a diabetic, & I said I wasn't, & she said she was looking @ my chart, & said according to recent bloodwork, I was. I had no idea about the results, so this was very unprofessional. She diagnosed me w/ a frozen shoulder & said it was due to my diabetes, & apparently not the accident that I had. This makes no sense. I asked if she was going to do an MRI, she said if you want one, but it may not show anything. What in the world?? Thankfully I only wasted $10 on this appointment, because it was a waste of $. She acted like I was just another person that she had to see, & hurry up, & get her out of here. I canceled my appointment in 5 weeks. She already diagnosed me, treated me rudely, & truly had no empathy. I wouldn't waste my ti.e or $ to go back to her ever again. Btw, I rated this clinic w/ 1 star, because I gad to in order to post this, but actually I give them 0 stars.

Due to having so many surgeries since I was 8 weeks old. I have a bad bladder and kidney issues. Everything seem to being going just fine until the Dr walked in. I only know her by the name of Lisa. She seemed rude, didn't care much of what I was trying to explain to her. Wouldn't even talk about treatment options. I explained she could check my medical records. They all back me. She don't seem to care. Told me to come back to see their mental Dr in February. Then come back in March then we would talk about treatments. But she mainly dealed with spine and back pain. I felt like I was being talked at not listen too. With chornic pain I can't go until March without no type of pain control or I would be bed ridden. I called back cancelled my follow up appts and told them to stread the contract I was made to sign before seeing a Dr. I didn't want to sign it until I knew I could be helped. I wanted to see Riddrick in the Greenville office. She has very good review with people dealing with the same type of chronic illness, but she was booked and I feel like I got thrown to the first available Dr. Very clearly she knew or cared to listen. She even twisted a comment I made. I took in all med bottles, paper work. She didn't care to look at non of them. I wish I could give two different stars here. Lisa the so called rude doctor deserves a 1 If that. The staff on the other hand deserves 5 stars. People living with chronic pain can't wait 3 months have some sort of treatment. So uncalled for!! If only I could of gotten the Dr I had ask for. I feel it would be wroth the drive. Guess I should of went in with no make up and not dressed nice. Maybe if I wasn't trying to try to hide my pain on the outside I would of been taking more seriously. I'm not saying all the Dr are bad. I just had a bad experience with the one given to me. I will continue to search for a more caring Dr that will talk to me not at me! Lisa has a bad bedside manner. Only reason I'm seeking pain management is because of my wonderful uro is retiring Dec 31st. my advise from just that one visit. If u living with chronic pain avoid Lisa at the Spartanburg office. Guess goes to prove either she doesn't care for people living with chronic pain or doesn't care to understand chronic pain unless it a back or spine injury. Which I heard her repeat quite a few times. SMH.

Even when blood pressure was thru the roof, they explained why I couldn't be seen then & to go to the ER & be checked even tho I said I was fine, they didn't want to take any chances & they worked me in the next wk or so. Yes you have to be honest, respectful, give all information & do what you are supposed to do, & if you do that then they treat you the same & are willing to help. I guess it depends on the Dr you get & luckily I got another one who listens, explains & talks to you not at you or thinks they hane all the answers so do as you are told no matter what. Dr Reddick is my dr now & she is great

My problem began with pain from the left side of my lower back that radiated down my left leg. My…read moreprimary care physician did an x-ray and didn't see anything so he set me up for physical therapy sessions. The first session went well enough and the pain subsided but, within weeks it came back with a vengeance. I suffered through three more therapy sessions, each one with a different therapist. None of their efforts gave me any relief and I actually felt much worse after each session. When I went to my fifth therapy session, the therapist wanted to have me get on a stationary bicycle. I told her I could barely walk in, I sure as hell couldn't get on a bicycle. That's when I came to the realization that physical therapy was not going to work for me. The first orthopedic surgeon I was referred to looked at my x-rays and sent me to a sports medicine facility in Spartanburg where they injected my lower back with a medication that was supposed to relieve my pain. After the lidocaine that was included in the shot wore off later that evening, I was in as much pain as before the shot. When I called the orthopedic surgeon's office, I was told my only options for relief were hot or cold compresses, ibuprofen, or a pain relief patch, all of which I had already tried with no luck. I suffered unrelenting pain most days for about six months. I could barely put on my pants every day and it was very painful to walk, sit, or ride in a car. At around this time, my mother-in-law fell, broke her shoulder, and had to have surgery to fix it. My wife was telling my mother-in-law's surgeon's assistant about my troubles while the surgeon was nearby. The surgeon asked my wife to show where my pain was located and he immediately said that it was a back issue. They set me up with an appointment to see a colleague of my mother-in-law's surgeon at Piedmont Orthopaedics, Dr. Van Pelt. I went to see Dr. Van Pelt and he ordered an MRI. I went for a follow up visit after the MRI and Dr. Van Pelt didn't initially see the problem but continued to study the MRI. He finally located the pinched nerve. He took his time and explained the problem and his recommended treatment. He recommended ALIF (Anterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion) surgery. It has now been almost three weeks since my surgery and I have nothing but the highest praise for Dr. Van Pelt, his assistant Kimberly, the vascular surgeon, the anesthesiologist, and all of the nurses and staff at St. Francis Hospital. I always felt like I received the highest standard of care with excellent communication as to what was being done and what to expect, and I was discharged after only one night's stay. I have experienced a lot of relief from the pain I was having. To be honest there are some minor lingering discomforts but that was to be expected and truthfully, my recovery has been far easier and quicker than I anticipated. I am doing my best to follow Dr. Van Pelt's recommendations for limiting my activities but I fully anticipate a complete recovery in short order. I highly recommend Dr. Van Pelt and Piedmont Orthopaedics.
