My original review from a no call/no show I deleted because I heard back from his wife & apparently there were medical issues at the time. It's now been almost a month later and they have not reached out like they said they would (I've had to make contact to hear anything) & something in my heart just doesn't feel right when it comes to their operation. My review is not attacking and it is simply an authentic review based off my personal experience/interaction. Clearly they are responding to others based off their most recent review response. So I am deciding to repost my original experience. POSTED 1/6 : I will acknowledge the consultation would've been free if he had shown up for it. we had high hopes as the response time and conversations had been positive and productive until this point We had scheduled for today (1/6) in hopes to squeeze us into his schedule before he filled up for the spring time. I thought it was odd that there was no check in throughout the week to additionally, confirmation on arrival time or location for our free consult. Day of we got no call and no-show as per the response he gave the last review below us. I understand completely issues with family and children and putting them first before your business. I always respect putting a family first but in our situation we had no I'm sorry I'll be late or I'm sorry I can't make it communication. Later in the day, we received a response from his wife to say that he was in the hospital due to Covid. read more

Responsiveness and good customer service ethics are surprisingly hard to find among contractors. It's like so many of these folks are advised that running a business isn't difficult enough, and they should really ramp up the challenge by disappearing to Belize and living under an assumed alias whenever they get a phone call. And then when you do get them on site, they throw up in your toilet (yep, happened to me once; guess the plumber was really put my drainpipes through their paces) or they proceed to treat your house like a backyard wrestling ring, complete with nails left strewn about. I even tried to get one guy to come over to look at a project, and when reminded about the timeline we confirmed with him twice, he stated "I don't do timelines". Will's team is excellent, thankfully. The masonry work they did on an aging stone chimney was done on time with a high degree of workmanship and for a fair price. I had them knock out some pressure washing, and this too was performed perfectly. There was a delay on my side they were very patient with. In other words, it was an experience that was a complete opposite of common worst case scenarios. I would use and will use this team again as I have other projects that will crop up around the property. I am not sure why Google said I am in Hubert NC -- It is their big mistake. My Big Mistake was not researching reviews like here at yelp before hiring Will Leroy Wright...owner of Omega Builders. -- in my real experience I lost 2 months of time when another contractor could be helping with my project and $1000 -- I think Will is a good guy. In my case he overextended himself and just could not deliver. I offered him to keep some of the deposit as a fee for moving his equipment to our site, but he thought he deserved most of it. We parted ways. I admit to you...since he was going to only willing to return a couple of hundred -- then I did not answer him. He can steal it all, if he was going to steal most of it anyway. -- Think -- All his reviews on several platforms are only made up of 5-star and 1-star answers. -- Like flipping a coin -- His customers have a 50/50 shot of getting what the customer wants. -- See attached: - His business address must be accidentally incorrect on all his records. Omega Custom Builders - Just Clue #1 -- The Builder's shop??? - Masonry/Concrete Near Me - Cherokee, North Carolina

I hired him to put in a 35'x 14' slab. He did the dirt work and poured slab. I had purchased a 14 x 30 metal building for the slab. When the building arrived the installers would not put the building on the slab it was so far out of level .It was 19" low from back to front. Side to side it was so humped up in the middle the doors would never close. The slab was a foot short, it was only 34' long. I called him and he assured me he could fix it but I knew the only fix was to break up slab and start over. You cannot pour cement over old cement that thick. I told him to fix it and call me back as I live out of state. He called and said all was fixed. When I got back to inspect he had pour one foot onto the front and leveled the front side to side. He done nothing about the front to back 19" off level. I called him back and he said the building was level. I had three other contractors check the slab and all agreed the slab was a disaster and could not be fixed. He would not make it good. I ended up busting up the slab and starting over. I gave him a one because that is the lowest I was allowed. This was a simple job so I would not trust him to do any kind of construction because he had maintained that the slab was level. When the slab was busted up he had not used any rebar or wire in the slab even though it was on the bid and he charged me for it read more

So, Will just drove across state lines from North Carolina to Tennesse for about 2.5 hours to do an emergency job on the roof for us. He's even had to make a trip to Lowes and buy a part for us. For all that he charged us very reasonably. I was away on a business trip and so I was very worried, but Will made everything alright for our family. My wife now says if he wasn't so far away I'd give him a call just to fix a sink or something. But for sure he'd be the first person I'll call for anything that's worth the trip for him. I had have an estimate on adding a deck built ( added ) to my front porch ( wrap around to access back door ) TO MATCH -- His estimate was a little under $4k but I was willing to do it if it was done right / by code and matched my front porch. I gave 1/2 money when they started, then balance upon " completion" he asked for balance right away so trusted that he did a good job as he said he promised that he would and he guaranteed iAnd I trusted that he ( his helper and wife ) they were putting in the materials just as the estimate shown but that was not the case. neither was the finished work. Nothing matched and was not county code. It Was a disaster. I asked for money back he said No. He said he would agreed to give the supply costs back but not his labor which was about $700.00 I asked for $1200.00 back so my husband and I could just redo it ourselves... he agreed to do that but didn't follow through - never saw a penny. At that point I had another contractor (licensed ) look at it and he said it was all out of code; nothing was right. I have to replace the whole thing, my cost. He initially told me he had a license. He refused to show it to me every time I asked. He also did my driveway , but never finished the job ( a drain line behind my house i had asked for ) I had paid him in full and he agreed to finish when he done my deck- it never got done. I'm out about $5k or more for work that's incomplete or has to be redone. seemed like nice people but I was fooled. I do not know what happened, but he did not do as he said Sadly. read more
